I didn’t see a new thread so wanted to start one. I’d really appreciate if everyone keeps this focused on Meghan-related fashion and lifestyle. I know I can’t expect only positive posts but let’s not get personal about Meghan or one another. 🙏

I’m shorter than 5ft 6. I don’t wear petite sizes.

She is not a conventional fitting and in that respect, I know about clothes not fitting.

I can only imagine that the clothes are on loan or they won’t fork out for a tailor.

She could look amazing all the time.

And just doesn’t.

With all their money, there is no excuse for not making use of a stylist or a tailor. At least a stylist for long enough to find ways of dressing for your shape.

If there is one thing I’d recommend?

Stop dressing like Di. Considering the Lizzie Arden incident, that is one step too far if she is dressing for her man.

That to me sadly suggests he doesn’t know ‘her favourite’ at all.

If only he’d been as diligent in his homework as his spouse.

Actually that hadn't occurred to me but you could well be right.
I kind of assumed he'd have done the sort of thing DH did before proposing and (thinking he was being very subtle) fish around about my tastes.
Why on earth he'd suddenly plump for the idea of yellow gold - if he had no reason for thinking it was her favorite - heaven knows.

If Meghan's 5ft 6 she certainly won't wear petite sizes. I'm 5ft 8 and often need a long leg.
I thought she looks shorter though but it's hard to tell in pictures.

Tape Measures may vary LaMarschallin

Everything bloody else does

DelectableMe · 18/05/2024 18:41

She looked ok when Charles was paying for the bespoke Givenchy, Dior and Stella McCartney.
I have no idea why she doesn't re-wear some of that wardrobe.

PrincessForPay · 18/05/2024 18:47

Nailed it there DelectableMe

Fine spending out for bespoke and tailoring if someone else is paying for it.

Or maybe she said it was, then later on said “you know what, maybe I would prefer white”. More like Diana’s ring…. 😆

Gosh she needs to get her people to press her clothes!

DelectableMe · 18/05/2024 20:34

That awful creased brown trousers and shirt outfit, just dreadful.

It seems likely to me that she prefers a more casual style. That the expectation of formality never suited her. Compare what she wore in 2019 as a working Royal when interviewing Julia Gillard, former Australian PM to the red strapped dress she wore on stage with WTO DG Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Meghan Markle, Julia Gillard panel: International Women’s Day

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex was joined by a group of high-profile thought-leaders for an International Women’s Day panel in London on Friday — including former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

More formal here and i really love the look. But still stands out here with the US style of bare legs. Meghan would have had advisors and stylists then so you get the sense that she still had a degree of freedom in making choices about her wardrobe. And she was obviously pregnant but I can’t imagine seeing her choosing anything so formal and businesslike today for a panel.

That photo is only 5 years ago, she has really changed a lot since then, she looks softer with a more full face.

That double bump wrapping pose.🙄We all did the hand on the bump, its hard not to, but I think she is the only person I have seen coil both their arms around the bump in that manner.

AliceOlive · 19/05/2024 14:37

I’ve seen many women do that. I think American are generally more comfortable with being tactile publicly. That and the hand holding never really register with me.

Thedom · 19/05/2024 14:48

Honestly, I have never seen anyone wrap both hands around their bump like that, maybe in maternity snaps with a bare tummy, but out and about, no never.

I don't believe it has anything to do with Americans being more tactile publicly, there are heaps of photos of Princess Catherine touching her bump but in what I would say is a normal manner.

But she seems to go full on frock every time she goes on an “engagement “ somewhere 🤷‍♀️and looks a bit of a mess

I know we're not supposed to mention the bump wrapping, but I too haven't seen anyone wrapping two arms, one above and one below her bump. The most noticeable time was when she wore the one-shouldered black dress at the Fashion Awards.
I supported my bump from underneath when I was pregnant, but draping an arm over the top did look awkward and stagey to me. Maybe it felt comfortable to her.

Edited because my original post made it sound like she has four arms Blush

Thedom · 19/05/2024 15:01

Yes, that one too !

I haven't either, @Thedom . It was noticable how she did the double wrap of the bump. Unusual.

DelectableMe · 19/05/2024 15:46

She really has changed so much. Especially in the last couple of years, quite a different appearance.

The double hand thing to me is 🤨 and I think it is a vanity combined with look at me thing. You do see many celebs at events having one hand on the bump - again I think it is a " I'm not fat I'm pregnant " thing in case there is the slightest possibility of a " fat photo" out there. Mind you do many celebs do seem to think they are the first ones to ever have children. Meghan it's all about being in the limelight again .
