Part 5 of (mostly ๐Ÿ˜‚) drama-free and positive threads, delving into all things Meghan and Harry. Whether itโ€™s the causes they support, their business initiatives, or Meghanโ€™s fashion choices (Harryโ€™s too, on occasion ๐Ÿ˜‰), thereโ€™s plenty to discuss. Just a pro-tip - that there may be use of MLE terms and discussions of dupes - you might want to exit stage left if these things offend. Hat tip to @queentim for the original inspiration.

He's disgusting. always been a pig of a man. But many on here seem to like him. Says a lot in my view.

Some of these commentators seriously need to be told to stfu.

With friends like this who needs enemies. I assume he has impeccable sources as he generally keeps his nose clean and bats for their side but for him to say so brazenly in an unguarded moment speaks volumes. For those that don't want to click the link he said Charles never liked visiting Africa finding them culturally unrewarding and much preferred the white Commonwealth. A stunning revelation if true.

Wow that is saying the quiet part out loud. I really hope he wasnโ€™t one of the many people out there who was criticising Harry speaking about the racial biases in the BRF. Knowing those types of people the cognitive dissonance allows them to do both.

Well he hates Harry and Meghan with a veangance even wrote a book on it which is regarded apparently as impeccably sourced by 'insiders' so I'm minded to beleive him.

Thinking charitably about this it could just be a late filing and something that was overlooked. I'm a trustee for a charity and whilst we get our annual filings on time and in order it is a necessary pain to do and I can see in a very busy seat of your pants operation it could have been overlooked. I'm sure whips will be cracked and they will get things in order in due course.

They have several highly paid staff . Important details should not be โ€œ overlooked โ€œ!

OH. MY. GOD.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is this not front page news, like when we had weeks of the โ€œroyal racistsโ€???????

If true it is an absolute shocker. Everyone in the โ€œdarkโ€ Commonwealth should know!!!! And those that still have KC as their head of state should act PRONTO!!

(no wonder the usual desperados are trying to stir up some inconsequential BS about Archewell being delinquentโ€ฆ the usual feeble and pathetic diversion tacticsโ€ฆ)

I am gobsmacked. Everyone needs to know about this. Bower is a repugnant lying creep when it comes to M&H, but he is without a doubt a RF mouthpiece.

What a hypocritical lot! None of them should be welcome in any โ€œdarkโ€ Commonwealth country ever again!!!!!

You are minded to believe him that the king doesnโ€™t like Black culture?

Delectable · 13/05/2024 23:30

skullbabe · 13/05/2024 16:15

@Delectable is that fantastic headwear this lady is wearing also called a gele?

Lovely. This isn't gele, ie Nigerian head tie. It's looks South African.
However, the fabric is adire and the edging is coral beads.
It's an arty twist to gele. The lady wearing it is elderly so I won't be surprised if she's a poet or so. She's not familiar to me.

skullbabe · 13/05/2024 23:32

Given that many consider his work to be impeccably sourced we can only conclude that the King does not like to visit and indeed was forced to visit the black countries because he does not find them โ€œculturally interestingโ€ - is an accurate reflection of the Kingโ€™s views.

Wow! That's a gorgeous headpiece.

A family friend's mom (Guyanese) wears them regularly (but not as intricate as this!) , because of the cultural history, and I've always loved them. They're so beautiful

It's a beautiful head gear.
Head gears with beads are smaller in Nigeria and usually only worn by the celebrant or female royalty of certain tribes during formal occasions.

KnickerlessParsons · 13/05/2024 23:34

โ€ขCan anyone become a Nigerian princess if they visit enough schools?
โ€ขIs Meghan now in line to one of the Nigerian thrones ( presumably the Arochukwu throne)
โ€ขIs the title hereditary?

โ€ขDoes Nigeria have kings?

So many questions.....

She will, obviouslyโ€ฆ so she can hand it to you!

Frankly, anyone would be more deserving, right?

Righty-yo!

Gosh Tom Bowyer saying the unsayable.

https://twitter.com/ValleyGirl629/status/1790053930904216042

Of course Charles doesn't like Africa. Only for the precious stones, metals and other natural resources. These days where it's harder to simply grab they're not at all attractive to him.

WhatAreThey · 13/05/2024 23:59

3 Kings and a Princess.

There were 4 kings. There was another king from Yoruba land but yes, these are Eastern kings.

Absolutely! People one would never bear to exchange pleasantries with. I know there are horrid characters on this earth but to see their desperation in action just confirms how they add nothing to intellectual discourse.

jeffgoldblum · 14/05/2024 00:08

If we believe Tom bower on this then we need to believe him on everything else he's said too.
Are we prepared to do that ?
Or are we just picking and choosing what we want from his narrative?

Wickedlywearynamechanged · 14/05/2024 02:04

I have no time for Tom Bower who said, โ€˜ Itโ€™s Meghan Iโ€™m after.โ€™ That statement turned my stomach and when I read his name I think of that. One by one these misogynistic Meghan haters expose themselves for what they are.

The man has proved to everyone who he is now, with the โ€˜white countriesโ€™ statement.

Hopefully, King Charles will deny this. Because this will not go down well in Commonwealth Countries. I live in one. Imo, it really doesnโ€™t matter if the tabloids and newspapers pick up on this, itโ€™s all over social media. Of course, the UK newspapers should pick this story up but I donโ€™t hold out much hope. I doubt though, that all the commonwealth countries will be so reticent in regards to publishing it.

The question of โ€˜โ€™If we believe Tom bower on this then we need to believe him on everything else he's said too.
Are we prepared to do that ?
Or are we just picking and choosing what we want from his narrative?โ€ It is a pertinent question in my opinion. Heโ€™s written awful things about Meghanโ€™s character and questioned her character and intentions repeatedly - Iโ€™ve seen his opinions echoed on the RF forums here and other sm platforms a great many number of times as though they are the truth. If people believe the unkind things (gossip) heโ€™s written about Meghan Meghan (and her mother too, if I remember correctly) and have repeated them as โ€˜truthโ€™ on social media, then yes, they should believe this of Charles, too.

A review for Revenge that appeared in the Times called the book an "eye-popping character demolition" of Markle.

https://uk.style.yahoo.com/royal-biographer-tom-bower-meghan-markle-harry-book-criticism-151540308.html

Personally, I donโ€™t believe the man. He makes my skin crawl.

Iโ€™ve seen posters post opinions belonging to Bower as truth. His book Revenge was mentioned quite frequently on mumsnet. Perhaps now weโ€™ll stop hearing his bullshit ugly gossip about Meghan (and her mother) repeated on here as truth. And know him and his opinions for what they are.

Edited to add in the word โ€˜uglyโ€™ & the name โ€˜Charlesโ€™ . Not in the same context lol:

Royal biographer sparks controversy after saying 'it's Meghan I'm after'

During a segment on Good Morning Britain, royal biographer Tom Bower has admitted that he is "after" Meghan Markle but doesn't "mind" Prince Harry.

Wow what a deeply unpleasant individual, up there with Piers and Jeremy. That genre of men who donโ€™t like a disagreeable woman.

DiTePerdantTeMaledico · 14/05/2024 08:20

He is a despicable individual for saying all sorts of things but especially โ€˜it is Meghan Iโ€™m afterโ€™. What? Who says stuff like that?

Fine to criticise an action or deed but that sounds personal.

I take the things he says with a great handful of salt.

I donโ€™t think that the king would have said any such thing - or anything close to it. It is just as inane as the drivel he comes out with regarding Meghan and her family.

There will be some idiots who will believe this and run with it of course. The ones who will cast aspersions slyly but yet be angry about the things he says about others, so entrenched are they.

Just remember that someone who speaks shite will generally speak shite about everyone. And if you believe this nonsense, then surely you should believe what he spouts about the Sussexes.

Likewise if one is not a liar or a fantasist, then fair truthful statements will be the stance regarding all they pass opinion on.

Thereโ€™s a very very long wikipedia entry listing all the official visits Charles has made in his lifetime. Itโ€™s a lot. And as the entry makes clear, these are travels he has made as a representative of the UK - so the trips were decided upon by the Foreign and Commonwealth office to further their official strategy. Because of that, he doesnโ€™t just travel to Commonwealth countries. Heโ€™s been to most of Europe and most of South America for example.

Given this, it seems unlikely that Charles has to be โ€œforcedโ€ to visit certain countries.

TheFirmBiscuit · 14/05/2024 08:56

Why he thought that was helpful god only knows and he is a notorious gossip who loves being in the limelight. I can't see any published linkages beween him and actual royals. So I guess it's unproven. If he, as others have ably said is an unreliable source then hopefully folks won't qoute this odioius man ever again. I certainly won't. But he did say it on GBNEWS an OFCOM regulated TV channel who should have known better to publish it without any authority or at least push back on him during the interview. (Though from the short clip we can't know that).

Tom Bower is a biographer who has written about the Royal Family, including a controversial biography of Meghan Markle. There is no public information to suggest he is friends with the Royal Family. Some of his work has been critical, which would likely not endear him to them.

It is important to note that biographers are not typically friends with their subjects, as this could compromise their objectivity.

MrsLeonFarrell · 14/05/2024 08:56

Tom Bower, and Angela Levin and Omid Scobie for that matter, are gossips who interpret and distort everything in the worst possible way. They will say anything about any royal just to make themselves feel important and it is usually nasty and divisive. I feel sorry for both those they are currently being nasty about and those they claim to support because they can turn on a dime and attack anyone.
