Part 5 of (mostly ๐Ÿ˜‚) drama-free and positive threads, delving into all things Meghan and Harry. Whether itโ€™s the causes they support, their business initiatives, or Meghanโ€™s fashion choices (Harryโ€™s too, on occasion ๐Ÿ˜‰), thereโ€™s plenty to discuss. Just a pro-tip - that there may be use of MLE terms and discussions of dupes - you might want to exit stage left if these things offend. Hat tip to @queentim for the original inspiration.

Lovely to see that shot of all the balls in the air.

Someone has been having a clear out! There is one person in the vicinity who certainly seems to be missing their balls.

Also I wanted to comment before that I enjoyed how much access media was given to the trip, lots of local media.

And of course it was funny to see the Daily Fail begging for images that someone posted upthread. I'm glad UK media had little to no access (though talked about them daily - quite amusing!!)

Their new communications guy seems to be doing a great job

I thought they had a pool reporter with them. That's pretty normal on a royal visit. Obviously the papers will want to get hold of coverage that isn't the same as everyone else's in the pool. Pretty much the only source for this will be buying it from people who were there.

The DM coverage was very amusing. A complete piss take.

LaMarschallin · 13/05/2024 16:34

I, too, have enjoyed learning some new things, particularly about Nigerian fashion.
Slightly disappointed - since skullbabe said Just a pro-tip - that there may be use of MLE terms and discussions of dupes - that I think I missed them? I did Google MLE.
Someone asked what MLE is and was told it depended on their favourite jollof.
Well, the best jollof I've had is made by a friend from Ghana - is that why I've not spotted the new words I was hoping to learn? ๐ŸŽ“

Thanks @TallerSally it's always nice to have some camaraderie and fun. It gets so tedious when posts are just endless lists of links. I'm sure people just tend to skim by.

@Delectable is that fantastic headwear this lady is wearing also called a gele?

It's all fun and games until she sits in front of you at the cinema

DiTePerdantTeMaledico · 13/05/2024 17:12

Youโ€™d be fine at the pictures if it was M sporting one.

Youโ€™d likely be sat in front of her.

Very true, @TheFirmBiscuit

The DM coverage was very amusing. A complete piss take.

Is a particularly disingenuous take on the reality, which is that the ever-cynical DM have managed to chuck out likely 20 'articles' PER DAY covering this Nigeria trip, to their audience of H&M fanatically OBSESSED readers. That's rather a lot of obsessive "piss-taking", for people who're trying to convince the world that H&M are irrelevant losers.

At any rate, who the hell cares whether the DM, who have the biggest axe in the world to grind against H&M, are piss-taking, poo-taking or taking some other bodily excretion in their coverage of H&M?

(most of what they write can be described as utter sh*te anyway...)

My twisted take on what? There was a pool reporter there, and he/she wouldn't have been from the DM but would have shared info with other papers in the pool. That's perfectly normal. An opinion piece from Tom Bower is not the same as the general news reporting, and in turn is not the same as an editorial, so I think you have got yourself a little twisted up there. He's a well known critic of King Charles, who thought he should abdicate in favour of William, so I'm not surprised he's writing provocative pieces like this. And it just goes to show, the paranoia about papers like the Daily Mail by the Sussex fans is a rather foolish - they do get very positive coverage as well as the negative, as every public figure does. I wish he was my mate! He's got a load of interesting material on all sorts of public figures. Talking to him would be fascinating!

BTW, I can't read that link as I am not a subscriber to the DM, as you clearly are, Biscuit, so I will take your word for it that what you say is reflective of the article. I'm surprised you give them your money.

a great photo...

Great photo, but leaves me confused. I thought this was an Invictus trip. It seems they spent more time on activities related to Archewell. Was I mistaken?

That's a link to a rather lovely article about William and Charles celebrating his new position as Colonel in chief of the Army Air Corps. Cheers! I have posted it on the thread that has been started about this, and given you a shout out.

100% @skullbabe

The amount of bias and ignorance on display on social media boards in relation to Nigeria and this trip has been truly shocking. And a real embarrassment for those concerned.

Anyhoo...

Having been anointed (??) by 3 Nigerian Kings* who travelled out of their kingdoms for the occasion, Meghan is now officially a Princess of Nigeria, so repeat after me y'all: PRINCESS. MEGHAN!!!

๐Ÿ˜ƒ

(* wait, what??? Nigeria has... Kings? Surely not real kings like ours, right? How can that be??)

So will Meghan be relinquishing her British Duchess title and will go by her Nigerian title instead? It would save William a job when he gets to the throne.

You should not have posted those awful rumours about Harry and Meghan here!!!
They don't deserve oxygen and have not been posted by so called "haters" on here because they are disgusting, unproven and damaging.
In your haste to defend , you have now broadcast to all on here the very poison you claim to hate!!

The only people I ever see write these horrible things on MN are Sussex supporters. I don't know if you are trying to provoke a discussion, but I hope people are more intelligent than to take this kind of bait. If you go looking for shit on the internet, you will find it. Best not to go looking, imo.
