George too, worked his ass off to get where he is. Nothing was handed to him (beyond his looks, and please don’t say Harry can compete with that!)

They made it, and then use their success to become true global philanthropists. Not pretend ones buying their own awards and whinging about sausages and necklaces.

I wonder if it just frustrates people who prefer a certain narrative to see a British woman of color successful in her own right.

This says it all about Hollywood v someone with Amal's credentials. Her husband is incredibly adorable, talented, accomplished and self effacing, but still knows she's worth 10 of him.

And I'll make an informed guess that Amal doesn't need the faux concern for her reputation , with her hugely impressive CV and intellect I'm sure she sees the futility of harbouring hate and vitriol for people you have never and rightly so.

George also started as a TV actor if I recall correctly, starring on 'ER'. It's great that he has also had a successful career as an actor, and that these couples can pivot doing what they want, into supporting the causes that are close to their hearts.
