To continue the discussion.

I thought the comparison with the Duke snd Duchess of Windsor (last post on the previous thread) was interesting.

A visit to a dodgy regime, (Nazi Germany) because they would call Wallis HRH and make it a quasi-royal tour.

Of course, at that point Nazi Germany had a dodgy human rights record, but it was before the horrors of the Holocaust.

Let's face it, with the security and human rights issues there is no way the IG could happen in Nigeria. So that is sn excuse.

I have no idea about whether the Cambridges were on a football pitch.

But I do know this was the volleyball court the Sussexes were exiting, so I thought I would clarify.

And rightly so. Just as many of us pointed out the similar situation in Jamaica, which was deliberately portrayed as something entirely different by the Sussex supporters and still is by certain quarters.

The label I am wearing for this tour is called Schadenfreude X Sauce For The Goose.

Oh, I saw one of her videos this morning! She's certainly no royalist, so her criticism is not partisan on her part.

The SS who engage in this sort of behaviour are just utterly stupid and a bit evil, in my opinion. Who on earth do they think they are, going after a Nigerian woman commenting on something happening in her own country?

Not at all surprised. The goal was never about preventing bullying nor about defending a WOC.

She has bad feet due to wearing so many high heels they say. I'm wondering whether she has had toe surgery.

I think she has real problems with shoes and feet.

What I can't work out though is why she wears over sized designer heels and claims it's normal when she could presumably afford a few custom made shoes that would surely look better and be more comfortable.

That’s why the tactics have jumped the shark.

I remember how I used to take it seriously, believe at least that people were sincere. Poor naive Alice.

But why?
For people that do not even know we exist.

Do you mean why did people attack William and Catherine for shaking hands from inside a football pitch? I think it’s become clear in the past few months now. It was never sincere, just about trying to raise H&M by denigrating his family.

I don't care if they know if we exist or not. They have made themselves into political actors seeking to shape society, so I will comment on them. As I would on anyone else who enters the political sphere.

Totally agree with you. It reminds me of some posters on here too. It’s very disingenuous.

Bit behind the curve there with the meaningless insults designed to shut down discussion. That straw man got burned a long time ago.

OneHeartySnail · 11/05/2024 17:17

Oh yes, the 'attack the posters' tactic.

Clearly. Given the number of threads there were piling on the Princess of Wales not long ago. A woman who had done nothing but take some time out to recover from surgery, and hoped for privacy while she did it.

This is what I was getting at!
Discussion is one thing. This is a different animal completely!

Doesn’t look like a zebra print to me - it looks like a palm leaf print in black and white.

I thought it was about embracing her roots? She dressed up Maltese style so why not in Nigerian style? Such a missed opportunity.

Just looked at Lisa Folawiyo's designs and they are stunning. I could see Meghan in one of those - a great fusion of European and Nigerian fashion. I don't think she would have been criticised for choosing somethink like these. (Catherine would, of course, but that's another issue!).

Looking at the pictures pps have posted here, I don't know what the problem is, but once she is required to dress for formal occasions, she just loses the plot. It seems she's picking up on the 'modesty' aspect by wearing fully-length dresses, but then choosing teasing/revealing styles. The white dress looks like a wedding dress, and too 'evening' for the occasion - oh, and just too Hollywood, I thought. The peach dress was just weird - strange colour that almost no-one can pull-off, and again, teasingly revealing.

I do like the casual things Meghan wears more than her formal outfits. When she was in the RF she wore some truly hideous stuff for special occasions...the green swathed thing with the horrid little beret being possibly the worst! But then I loved her pink silk dress from the disastrous Fiji market fiasco - I may be the only one who does! I thought it was relaxed, flowing, very pretty on a petite person, but also modest.

I've certainly noticed that a certain category of pp has a certain type of name.

They really need to get a new line though. "Why do you care?" is so last season. And 'How do you know?' has already got boring.

What she wore in Malta was the faldetta or ghonella; which was a bit like rocking up in London claiming English ancestry and wearing a crinoline. No-one's worn them for decades. Cos-playing, essentially.

OK. This again.

Please can you explain the significance of either pps knowing M & H personally, or M & H knowing we exist? It gets mentioned ad nauseam by their supporters on here and it's such a weird comment.
