If she's having chemo I presume it could be many months before we see her. Poor woman.

@IsoldeWagner that is disgusting! Do not twist my words to pretend that I said homeless people are boring. I said no such thing.
I was talking clearly about William and media interest.
If this is how people behave on this board then I am out.

Bye then!

That is not what the poster was saying at all. If that is how you interpret things, perhaps it's better if you are "out"!

IsoldeWagner · 05/05/2024 22:23

Oh, they'll be back, @Runnerinthenight . The ones that announce always are.

Yep, a new reinvented version!

@ArcaneWireless there are supporters and haters of Harry and Meghan. They generate a lot of public interest. The hardback copy of SPARE was supposed to have made $22 million for Harry. That level of public interest means the media will continue to focus on them.
You can see it on MN. A thread about Harry and/or Meghan will attract far more comments than a thread about William.

Haters 🤦‍♀️

LumiB · 05/05/2024 22:38

Runnerinthenight · 05/05/2024 20:59

He's not controversial, that's why.

Ther have been press articles about him but noone is interested in starting threads or commenting on them so it's not controversy. He has in the past had controversial moments but it still didn't generate the same level of comments.

Why wouldn't people want to come comment on all the good things he is doing, analyse that to death like how he has helped x u z, but people don't want to talk about something nice to that level. Far easier to moan, bitch and criticise instead, more to say that way

IsoldeWagner · 05/05/2024 22:41

They do, unfortunately, @LumiB .
You just need to look a little upthread, I posted some of the good things William did and you can see how someone responded.
It would be nice to acknowledge the positives, but it does seem to be hard for some people.

Gorgonemilezola · 05/05/2024 23:05

'but people don't want to talk about something nice to that level.'

That could be said about pretty much everything in the news cycle. Good/nice news doesn't sell advertising space. That's why Harry and Meghan are so much in the, well, perhaps less serious news outlets - they're controversial, everyone is waiting to see what faux pas they're going to come up with next. It's not that they're more interesting, but that they're more likely to do something that the gutter press can run with.

IsoldeWagner · 05/05/2024 23:09

Absolutely, @Gorgonemilezola - it's all about the clicks.
I think it's sad that some celebrities are reduced to that, just doing/saying stuff to get in the tabloids.

Gorgonemilezola · 05/05/2024 23:15

'noone is interested in starting threads or commenting on them so it's not controversy.'

Tbh that's not true either - endless speculation about none existent affairs, lots of horrendous commentary when It was announced Kate would be out of the public eye due to medical issues. Again, gutter press worthy but generated lots of column inches, and many posts on here and elsewhere.

If Harry and Meghan had just got on with their lives and not 'put themselves out there' at every possible opportunity, the press and social media would have become bored very quickly and left them alone.

IsoldeWagner · 05/05/2024 23:18

Exactly, @Gorgonemilezola . They've really tried to keep in the headlines, and keep up the tabloid presence. They have to make announcements, collect awards, present trophies etc.

They don't own the papers they don't have to print articles about them, they do it because it makes them money because they people will click on them. If we didn't, they would soon stop producing articles. 🤨

BemusedAmerican · 06/05/2024 00:31

They also pay for tabloid inches. Meghan's contract with WME paid for positive buzz, some of which backfired.

AnnieSF · 06/05/2024 01:42

SluggyMuggy · 05/05/2024 21:07

William does not generate public interest. It is why the press mention Harry and Meghan on so many articles that are supposed to be about William. It is the only way they can generate any interest.

What on earth do you read?

Yes, but their PR or publicity people ensure that happens. They are visible and making sure that those clicks happen. They're controversial and very high profile. They can't afford to lie low for long or the interest would start to wane. They have to keep that fire stoked.

Lifestooshort71 · 06/05/2024 07:57

I read the threads on here about H&M not only because their antics are entertaining and controversial but because, somewhere along the line, there'll be a bun fight in a paper bag which adds entertainment value. Threads about W&C are OK but I prefer to catch up with what's going on in their lives via news channels.

Vespanest · 06/05/2024 10:28

Harry made reportedly 22 million selling his and others privacy, he doesn’t get to shut the book, because he want to, just as he doesn’t get to dictate how William, Kate feel about him or trust him. He choose the life of reality TV, he interesting because he’s a walking contradiction, some support him, some criticise him, some laugh at him and some ignore him. But he chose this path, he chose to be the media he apparently hates

LBFseBrom · 06/05/2024 13:40

Which book is that and have you read it?

cookienomstar · 06/05/2024 16:37

Oh dear, not even a thread about poor Kate and her wellbeing can ever remain about her. Poor woman

ArcaneWireless · 06/05/2024 16:44

Oh dear.

See the thing is, if folk think these threads are posted with genuinely good intentions all the time, it ain’t Kate that is the ‘poor woman’.

Don't you think these topics are relevant to Catherine and her current situation? I do. She doesn't live in a vacuum.

Or contact a psychic hotline. 😝

Runnerinthenight · 06/05/2024 19:58

God almighty - what was wrong with that one?!!!!! Baffled!! I only said the thread was ludicrous and it is!!!

The thing is, there are many many different kinds of cancer, and within that there will be many different courses of treatment.
Each course of treatment will be tailored to the type of cancer the patient has, and the progression, etc.
The point being that depending on the type of cancer, the location, dose, method of transmission, can all affect the patient to different degrees.
Catherine also stated that her treatment was delayed as she had to recover from the surgery.
I'll wait to see Catherine when she is ready.

Mylovelygreendress · 07/05/2024 08:11

I was scrolling through Twitter/ X and see the Sqaddies are still shouting bile about Catherine .
I am awaiting more rumours etc as William is having an overnight stay in Cornwall where he is going on Duchy business.
Reasonable people will deduce that his wife is on the mend but not the sickos .
