William Threatened Tatler and Camilla's niece help plant story

In the audio, the journo explains what happened when she referred to Kate as being thin.
William rang Tatler and The Daily Mail, arranged lunch with them and his staff to plant stories.
Camilla's niece who works at Tatler helped him twisted the true position to be favourable to William and Kate.

She says no British print media is allowed to say anything negative about Kate or William. The negative stories must be about Harry and Meghan.

It may do Harry some good to consider that other people deserve consideration and privacy and it shouldn't be sacrificed because he feels he had a bad deal in life. That's exceptionally self centred.

ArcaneWireless · 27/04/2024 23:00

I don’t think anyone should put up and shut up.

I don’t think anyone should lie about others in order to try to damage them out of envy, spite and resentment either.

Vespanest · 27/04/2024 23:00

I find selling your stories to the highest bidder, whilst expecting relationships after extremely toxic. Harry stinks of emotional blackmail, give me what I want or I’ll take revenge, and is still doing it. Woe is me my family don’t trust me or want to see me, no shit Sherlock you slagged them off .

Doesn't quite square with "putting distance between it all", does it? Monetising the supposedly intolerably toxic life, putting it into a book full of provable untruths, doing interview after interview about the supposedly toxic family, heaping his own toxicity onto it, and inviting scrutiny of his own character and relationship with the truth.

He's the one making others' lives toxic.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 27/04/2024 23:03

No need for him to put uo and shut up. But any of what he claims he has been going through could have been dealt with through private channels of communication with his family members and private therapy. None of it needed to be made public. There was no need to vindictively attempt to humiliate his family members whom he knows don't hit back - a move that has backfired on him spectacularly. He's made the situation a thousand times more toxic than it may well have been to start with, and he is the one who has ended up looking like the toxic, resentful centre of the saga, not his family members he's attacked, who all seem to get along just fine and be able to move on with their lives.

That is such toxic behaviour.
The rest of the RF must be relieved he's moved away, but it must still be painful to experience all this. It just goes on and on.

SuziQuinto · 27/04/2024 23:05

And he's done all this for one reason; $$$$

That's just it though - if you're not in the Royal Family itself, you're not them, how are you in any place to say what they're saying is a lie?

Even if what is being said about him is playing out in the national media?!
I know I'd probably be like "hang on, I don't think so"

If it was all so often why did they want to remain part of it ?

So why stay?. Why want a deal where you're still part of it and want to "collaborate with the Queen" (sic).

Vespanest · 27/04/2024 23:16

Did Harry ever apologise for the accusations that he was left at his boarding school after being told by staff the Queen mother had died because Charles didn’t give a shit to tell Harry and left him to it. When the reality was not only was Charles with him he even broke protocol and they all travelled back together. I can guarantee Harry would be demanding an apology if not money if lies were told about him.

SuziQuinto · 27/04/2024 23:18

What about the lie that Archie would never be a prince because of the colour of his skin?

SuziQuinto · 27/04/2024 23:19

Or the lie that Charles cut him off financially, when in fact he was still subbing him well into the California life.

Runnerinthenight · 27/04/2024 23:22

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 27/04/2024 22:49

True. Some people don't feel able to bottle everything away, never retaliate, never explain.
Don't want to just put up and shut up whatever is thrown at you.

He doesn't have to put up with any shit thrown at him - he's had masses of therapy!

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 27/04/2024 23:22

What was being said in the media about him that wasn't true?

ArcaneWireless · 27/04/2024 23:23

You are in no position to say they are telling the truth either.

Recollections vary all over the shop.

THE truth is constant.

When folk go on about their truth to make a scummy buck? Nah.

So Meghan getting caught out lying by the courts, wasn't in fact a lie? Or accusing the RF of racism, and then dialling back on that too? Catch yourself on, you're defending the indefensible.

They're still his family. I guess he wanted a chance to pursue his own life and a new one with his wife and children in another country but still have contact with them in some capacity.
It's not always as clear cut as ",just ditch.,"

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 27/04/2024 23:27

Another thing that is always forgotten when posters bang on about the "toxic" family: that his mother was incredibly toxic, and probably the biggest single influence on him as a child. She had one of her many affair partners, James Hewitt, teach him to ride and did her best to drive a wedge between her children and their father. And of course, triangulating her children, in particular, William, into her marriage troubles by treating them as tiny confidants, rather than protecting them from it. If the rest of them were "toxic" she was no different.

No indeed. Who knows what he really thought, though, because the truth is so hard to determine with him.

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 27/04/2024 23:28

Or accusing the RF of racism

You can't seriously be of the opinion that the Royal Family are never racist.
Maybe you are.
Ok.

Ok.

Of course we know the royal family have members who are racist, Prince Harry for starters

SuziQuinto · 27/04/2024 23:32

Everyone knows full well the claims about the RF racism. Then Harry later decided it was the UK press making it up because (of course) he'd claimed no such thing! Of course he hadn't!
The evil press.
Logic takes a holiday with Prince Harry's double think.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 27/04/2024 23:33

The only one alive that is the proven, unapologetic racist is Harry. And no, he's not made any sincere apology where he has taken the blame, he has held everyone else around him responsible for his own vile attitude. And he didn't grow up in less enlightened times, he's not even 40. Other people of his generation don't get that free pass.
