Good for them. They seem to be thriving and having a fabulous life.

Hello

I'm seriously disappointed as this thread had been knocked OT by FM's talking bout Harry's OH. This thread is about Harry and wishing him good luck and I hope he finds the privacy he dreams about.

Thank you

I rarely post about him, never mind starting thread. However, the good news needs to be shared.

Good luck and good bye!!!

No one expressed “horror”. What’s with the loaded language? Some think it’s disrespectful. Some don’t. It wouldn’t be much of a forum if everyone shared the same borg mind.

whynotwhatknot · 18/04/2024 19:12

bye bye good riddance suppose they'll be more books about the family

They didn’t just escape. They branded an entire country as colonialist and racists

No, they didn't. They said some of the attitudes and people were like that, not all.
Which it is, you cannot deny that racism is deeply entrenched in society and that colonialism is part of the UKs history.
Why are you taking it so personally and think they're talking about you?

And moved to a country that also has huge issues with racism, the dispossession of original peoples, and an ongoing imperialist attitude to global affairs.

@AliceOlive "Some think it’s disrespectful. Some don’t. It wouldn’t be much of a forum if everyone shared the same borg mind."

Are you talking about the curtsy video? There was incredibly strong language used about it til it was linked on here when suddenly it became a bit less cut and dried. And nobody can say what demands M made that reduced her security detail to tears. Or show the video of the Fiji market debacle......

AliceOlive · 18/04/2024 19:50

I think you were the only poster here that said they had not seen the curtsy video. I’m not sure what you are suggesting re it becoming less cut and dried. No one’s opinion here changed today as far as I can tell.

No one expressed horror, but many of us think it was rude and disrespectful.

Mylovelygreendress · 18/04/2024 19:52

Harry looked very uncomfortable when she did that ridiculous curtsy

Salemforcuddles · 18/04/2024 19:57

If someone was mocking my grandmother then I would definitely look uncomfortable

Me too. Especially if it was my spouse who was doing the mocking. Blood is thicker than water.. She mocks the curtsies but wants the titles for her kids!

I don't think there is a video of it, the story came about after people reported it

CurlewKate · 18/04/2024 20:17

Fair enough. I have no idea what Harry was feeling. and I honestly don't know why was disrespectful or mocking about it. She was asked if she knew how to curtsy at short notice. She curtseyed in the way a women who went to stage school or learned ballet would. And fond the whole situation she n retrospect funny. Which it was. But hey ho. We have to remember that this is the woman who tried to poison her niece with her wedding bouquet. So who knows what else she is capable of!

CurlewKate · 18/04/2024 20:22

@Salemforcuddles "I don't think there is a video of it, the story came about after people reported it"
I think there must be. Someone down thread said "you can see the moment when...." and "the blond security guard in the car in tears "

AliceOlive · 18/04/2024 20:24

No one believes she ever really curtsied like the mock bow she gave on Netflix. That isn’t how you learn to curtsy in ballet, nor how she curtsied on suits, nor how she would have seen Catherine curtsy in her wedding which Meghan blogged about despite pretending she never thought of the royal family prior to being set up with Harry.

And let’s not forget, she has a freakish attention for detail.

CathyorClaire · 18/04/2024 20:29

He doesn't owe Britain anything

He most certainly does.

Millions on the overblown wedding that was later claimed to be a fake spectacle for the peasants.

Hundreds of thousands on the rent dodge he contrived at Frogmore.

10% of the Home Office costs for his ludicrous court case

And a £26m sub for what amounts to a role confected for him but inspired by someone else's idea.

Fucking grifter indeed.

Wasntmeanttobelikethis · 18/04/2024 20:30

Goodbye, please don’t come back
The cheeky chappie Harry persona was a fabrication made up by very clever PR people
And no I haven’t met him; just an educated assessment

Not to mention the costs to the UK taxpayer of the HO defending his ongoing judicial review regarding RAVEC. There will be man hours not directly related to court time by civil servants who had to gather info during their normal working hours for this - when I'm quite sure their workload was already full.

It's all a bit confusing really, on the OW interview she couldn't remember how she curtsied but on the Netflix documentary she could remember doing the deep one

Corinthiana · 18/04/2024 21:16

Goodness me. The pair of them have shocking memories, don't they?

Err excuse me! just because I have a life and I am not on mumsnet posting 24/7 does NOT mean it has become less cut and dried at all, how presumptuous of you to think that because you have posted the clip (that a majority of us have seen umpteen times as it was big news) that we have suddenly decided our opinions are wrong, far from it, it was all over the media how utterly disrespectful people found it plus the threads on here, you are very late to the party seeing as this is the first time you have supposedly seen it. Your post is not the gotcha you think it is.

Just "I saw her and I don't like her."

Well, it's clear what you are insinuating there, but if thats all you’ve got, 🙄!!!!!!!

Plenty of examples if you want to look at her interviews, but the first very noticeable one was on their South Africa tour,

Gave a woe is me interview, ‘no one asked her if she was okay’ its’ not enough to survive, you have to thrive’ , standing in the middle of a S. African Shanty town, i.e. insensitive, unaware, self obsessed. As a self-proclaimed humanitarian shouldn't she have known better than using that visit as a platform for airing her complaints, Lets not forget, she is married into one of the most privileged families in the world and yet the juxtaposition of her location was totally lost on her..

From there on, there are multiple examples, in her own words, to indicate that this was not an exception, but was, in fact, her real character on display. Despite a carefully orchestrated and curated public image, she continues to be unable to camouflage her unpleasant and mean character.

Edited

The Queen and Prince Charles always came across/still come across as incredibly unpleasant people but seem to be given a pass because they were born royal. Maybe there are different standards for royals 🤷‍♀️
