To continue the discussion...

What next? What did the launch aim to achieve? Did it get the desired result?

Back to the “soft launch”, that would normally include a handful of products being offered. A local restaurant did a soft launch of a new location. That meant a few days open by invitation to existing customers and a sampling of their menu.

ARO hasn’t launched, they just threw up an little promo.

Yes, calling it a 'soft launch' is being generous. Nearly 4 weeks on, there's been no movement. The only reason we're speculating about what it might sell is because of the trademark filings, which are public record. A blank beige webpage is not really a 'launch'.

This poster sounds very familiar. The obsession with everyone here being 'old' and being wildly jealous of a woman whose main claim to fame is marriage to a balding, lazy, intellectually challenged prince. Who himself is no spring chicken.

Very familiar.

You're right, it wouldn't.

I don't go around feeling envy towards complete strangers, but if I were so inclined, Meghan would not inspire such emotions.

So what compels you to spend your entire day (day-after-day) ‘discussing’ a stranger? 🤔

Why do you care?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 09/04/2024 17:11

Meghan still wakes each morning as a member of the royal family and a multi-millionaire with the same influence

You couldn't pay me to be a member of the RF (altho the perks like money, one of the best art collections in the world, expensive clothes and not having to use public transport would be nice)

and social and business opportunities that few could hope to achieve – despite any derision from people who have far less to boast about

Not much seems to have been made of those social and business opportunities, though. I doubt she has the influence she'd have had in the RF, either. And why does having far less to boast about mean that people can't comment on her? is there some level of achievement people have to have before they're allowed to comment?

All that, and being incredibly beautiful. That wouldn’t attract much envy, would it? Hmmm...

Well, you know what they say about beauty being only skin deep.

What! She'll surely make the jam herself, in her kitchen with fruit picked by herself, from her garden?!

While you're exaggerating somewhat, I find it fun to post here. Especially when posters who can't use hyphens to save their lives think they are being clever, instead of hilarious with their pompous Chat GPT talking points.

Keep it coming!

Yes. A 'coming soon' teaser might have been a good idea. But to 'launch' an empty website with just a silly soft focus video, and then silence for weeks, is not a good business strategy. Even I know that.

My own husband has incredible hair, besides being of strong moral fiber and possessing a wicked sense of humor. I envy some of Meghan’s clothing though not her life otherwise. I wouldn’t trade my own with anyone for all the wrinkled pigeon dresses in the world.

IsoldeWagner · 09/04/2024 17:18

God, I don't envy her married to that petulant man child. Did you read his account in Spare of the birth of Archie? He's a shit birth partner, too. That episode alone made me want to say ltb.

FlouncetteLaFroth · 09/04/2024 17:24

Young mother indeed. Is that a squad assertion? I’m not up with the jargon. It has been a while since I was in a club.

It is a bit of a struggle to associate that with someone of Meghan’s years and life experiences.

The last time I struggled so much, it was taking road safety advice from a squirrel.

That said, I was a member of the Tufty Club so I can see how easy it is to recruit members based on fantasy.

IsoldeWagner · 09/04/2024 17:25

😂

Jf20 · 09/04/2024 17:31

I think it’s great to have a different opinion but it’s important if you put an opinion out to be open to discussing it. Not basically accuse people of being tribal.

im very surprised anyone in their sixties would classify a woman in her forties as a young mother, it really is stretching credibility.

as is saying the business has opened. From what I can see it has not, and that’s a major part of this discussion, they have simply launched a brand

StormzyinaTCup · 09/04/2024 17:33

I can’t see anything attractive about a man-child and certainly wouldn’t entertain marrying one. He comes across as a complete fun sponge with a face like a slapped arse most of the time. Probably doesn’t really need saying but definitely no jealousy here 😁

Oh and they are a middle aged couple with a young family, they are not a young couple.

To me she is attractive but definitely not 'incredibly beautiful'. Eye of the beholder and all that.

But beauty is not really a rare commodity. California is full to the brim with gorgeous women. Why would she in particular be the target for this alleged envy?

BigWillyLittleTodger · 09/04/2024 17:39

Seriously though, like the woman or not, doesn’t it make you feel uncomfortable that any young mother is pilloried to that extent, no matter who it is or what they have supposed to have done?

I never understand this line when it’s trotted out, why on earth does being a ‘young’ mother (she is middle aged by the way) give someone a free pass to behave badly without challenge?

Meghan is undoubtedly attractive. But that is not her original face and so it is unfair to judge her for her choice of cosmetic surgeon, aesthetician or weave maestro. She is so much more than looks.

But I can see the advantages of concentrating on her looks and youth.

For her behaviour has not been so appealing.
The behaviour of her husband? Ditto. Although to be fair, he is worse.

Bitterness, an inherent air of spite and an all pervasive victim mentality is not something I feel I could ever be envious of.
