What exactly is "the Sussex Squad"?

I don't know whether this is too controversial a topic for such a thread to be allowed to stand. But I post in good faith on a topic I believe has a lot of social and political relevance.

Does the "Sussex Squad" actually exist? If so, how do you join? If not, do people ever identify as belonging to it?

If it exists, was it hijacked by SarahData and Bouzy or was it their creation? And, if so, to what extent?

Thanks in advance.

Well this has been interesting to see how this investigation will unfold and its wait and watch to see what unravels and if it leads back to H&M and its proven with evidence since thats what we like to see than yes it will be epic fall out.

As a side note I don't think its fair to start picking on a mumsnetter and yes there have been some posts here wondering where some mumsnetters have disappeared to. I don't think its fair to be taking the piss out of someone who actually fair play to them came and said why they aren't here as much. At least you have one person saying why not, instead you're now taking the piss out of their reason. I don't know where everyone lives but here in London its been warm with some sun (although windy) and I was out with the kids all day so were lots of people. I can defintely see more people out and about now the rain days are slowing down.

Its a bit disappointing to see some of you resorting to this childish piss taking isn't this the very behaviour you say the meghan fans do

I'm just saying what I see on this thread since this one is one I was interested in following as I've been following it in the media.

I know what the sussex squad has been doing is more but I wasn't referring to them, I was referring to the comments on here about 'pro meghan' mumsnetters disappearing all of a sudden and someone comes on gives a reason and some people instead of just saying okay fair play thanks for your post helps us understand why maybe some people aren't on so much are just taking the proverbial piss out of what they wrote. Its childish behaviour imo.

I mean if someone accused me of being a sussex squad member and refused to believe me if I denied it I would also not bother coming back to post. This is a forum after all for disucssion and debate, not to make accusations at each other.

The weather has been terrible in much of North America so the silence on X has nothing to do with driveway cleaning.

Waiting for new marching orders I suppose. And probably hard to get those out of Montecito at the moment.

That makes sense. Also, who knows how many supporters there were just Boozy Bots.

If "someone" says 'I'm pro-Meghan, and I'm too busy in the garden to get into this' she speaks for herself. Not for all of them. That is not an explanation for the disappearance of all the pro-Meghans. Weather is bad up North in the UK at the mo⁰.

I am intrigued by your use of the word "accused" in " if someone accused me of being a sussex squad member". What has the Sussex Squad done that is so bad?

Which is kind-of the same question I asked of the previous self-identified pro-Meghan poster earlier.

I hope that our Security Services are involved, it’s very concerning as to how far will the squad actually go.

I think @Tremour the narrative that was being spun was asking to be challenged, and it was, with humour. Everything being equal, the drop off in interest in this board would be the same for all of us who post here. We all have things to do and people to see, sunshine to enjoy and post winter jobs to be getting on with. However, the sudden, near complete absence of (for want of a better label) pro Sussex posters occurring in parallel with the emerging information about the activities of a similarly minded group on Twitter (and the apparent meltdown of their leadership) is noteworthy. Particularly after the sudden and frenzIed activity here over the last couple of months by an influx of such posters, followed by their equally sudden disappearance once the media spotlight was shone on the SS and Bouzy. It’s not about the absence of one person and their reasons for it. It’s about what has potentially been happening on this board and across SM with patterns of activity and the posting of certain talking points following across the two forums - a pattern that has been acutely apparent since January.

Edited

I didn't see that posters say they were pro-meghan in their post they haven't openly said i support meghan so not sure its fair to say they did. Looking at their posting history most seems to be on the out and about thread, don't know if that makes someone pro meghan or someone who just says whether they like what she wears, I don't know but I don't understand why posters are being labelled, thought this thread was here to discuss the investigation not mumsnetters and where they are.

You're right obviously she isn't speaking for a group but I barely post on here as I am busy with a disabled kid, I come on when I can. I think most mumsnetters are the same to be honest, even yourself, I don't think anything else is going on.

I can only go on whats said here and what the media say about the sussex squad as I don't have a X account but peopel are saying its alot of bullying of Kate and William, a group that coordinate attacks.

Well I am not really taking much notice to be knowing that posters have suddenly dropped off to be honest and I don't really see a parallel you have drawn. I see lots of activity whenever there is something in the media. When there was no news on Meghan and Harry a while back the board was equally quiet infact there were posters wondering where they were. There isn't anything in the news other than this investigation but even then its not headlines. What I have noticed is when there is headline article there is more activity then and new threads pop up. Then it goes quiet until the next thing. Thats the patterns I've observed.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 07/04/2024 00:12

If you barely post on here and not taking much notice @Tremour, then it's probably not going to make much sense to you.

Well sorry if I missed those I most certianly would of had I taken proper notice as I said I've been following this thread for the information shared and sometimes I haven't always had a chance to add a comment as I got distracted by the kids. Kids are away this night at a sleep over so I have more time now.

You shouldn't of been attacked that is also wrong.

Im not saying someone did accuse someone of being a sussex squad memeber on this thread I was picking up what said by that poster who said they had been accused (clearly on another thread) and thats part of the reason they have stepped away.

Please don't tell me im not misreprenting facts. I haven't but this right here is why I tend to just read and will also just go back to lurking mode now . I don't know how I am derailing a thread when I am commenting on whats been said on this thread

I don't post doesn't mean I am not here reading. I don't take much notice of names of mumsnetters. To be honest you have different view to mine and thats fine.

The concept of 'posters being labelled'.

The amplified script = posters who were in the past pro-Meghan shouldn't be labelled "Sussex Squad".

As I thought from when this was posted many hours ago - this was not a question posed in good faith.

Perhaps you may have noticed that a few H&M supporters are not engaging or posting in these threads anymore - this is apparent to many. I for one noticed a pile on on a stalwart of these threads which led to that poster leaving permanently. That event, coupled with a poster here who dog whistles with abandon made me realise that I for one am tired - tired of exposing myself to the insidious anti black racism that is percolating though UK society at the moment and on these threads and tired about arguing about H&M who ultimately have no real effect on my life insofar as I have more focused charitable projects that I ever did before. One of the projects I became involved in as a consequence of Archewell’s highlight has been World Central Kitchen - recent events with that again made me realise that there’s no real point in arguing with people on the internet. Especially with people who deny your humanity. And so I see you in these threads - and I choose to not engage. Simple as that. I will stay on and comment on threads that I feel are positive. Hope you get the outcomes you all hope for.

I genuinely do think the board is quiet due to the ‘good’ weather. All out on their bikes backpedaling…🚴
