What exactly is "the Sussex Squad"?

I don't know whether this is too controversial a topic for such a thread to be allowed to stand. But I post in good faith on a topic I believe has a lot of social and political relevance.

Does the "Sussex Squad" actually exist? If so, how do you join? If not, do people ever identify as belonging to it?

If it exists, was it hijacked by SarahData and Bouzy or was it their creation? And, if so, to what extent?

Oh I doubt it too - but are the usernames gone? I can only remember a couple off the top of my head!

It's just bizarre. I don't get why they would suddenly all, simultaneously, disappear en masse.

I know one mumsnetter who was.pksting but now.sropped but posts elsewhere only cos they popped up on a garden fence thread and I dm them for some advice as they had an issue similar to mine and they were kind enough to help me out.

So some.may have gone but I doubt all of them have but again

Oh well who cares if some mumsnetters no longee want to post on here or are busy what does it matter, people are free to do what they like with their time. I saw that one post where someone explained why they have stopped posting and then a few people took the piss out of their reason so cant say I'm surprised they left.

I believe there’s at least three pro-Sussex MNers that are genuine as I’ve seen them on other threads.
i’m not on here all the time, I come and go. Depending on how much time and headspace I have after looking after my neurodivergent DS pretty much 24/7.

I used to work with a lot of very left-wing trendy people. Their default mode was “sneer”. Their sense of humour was sneery, their view of anyone less metropolitan was sneery and they super-sneered at the poc in the office because he was a church-goer. All nice Guardian readers….

Cheeseball, I could have written this post! And the most annoying thing about this category of person is their moral superiority. They simply despise anyone who's not 'left-wing' (whatever that means...) You get them on MN - the ones who express completely disproportionate hatred for the DM, or say they hate Tories (because that makes them good people). Well - they must hate at least 50% of their fellow beings then. Why is that a good thing?

I agree that the Guardian nowadays is a really horrible paper. I look at it online with growing horror. I hate the way it's seen as the right - even the only paper in so many quarters. Some of the writers seem to live in a crazy, distorted metropolitan bubble which I imagine most people in this country would find it hard to relate to.

I think we should focus on whatever we want to focus.

I don't think they have entirely.disappeared there are some neutral or positive-ish comments on the other threads on the RF board

I thought mumsnet gave a recent message to say not to derail threads and this one is about the Sussex squad.

Different to some posters on here who don't bitch about the Sussexs.

So how many have disappeared since you seem to know. Are we talking 3,5,10,20 posters? Where is your evidence they have disappeared?

It is still school holidays presuming the majority of people who use this forum are parents could be people are on holiday too.

I'd also say where are all the w&k supporters they seem to have disappeared too ... hardly any new threads about them since the announcement kate made.

I don't know, as I don't appear to be as familiar with this board as you. I notice some of the more aggressive posters missing, and the tenor of posting has changed, save for a few remnants. I cba to check up on them, and tbh I am glad to be rid of their noisy clamour.

We don't know whether that's because they're Sussex Squad or not, but it's absolutely relevant to this thread. If you have insider info, do share!

The W&K 'supporters' are doing as they were requested to do, respecting their privacy! Something the Sussex squad and their supporters would do well tbe taking on board when they're putting negative connotations on a man whose wife is going through cancer treatment goes for a drink with his MIL, and same man takes his little boy to the footie!!! Disgraceful!

This seems to be your first and only comment on the thread that actually involves the topic of the thread. I am not complaining but making a neutral observation. Am I missing something?

I think the posters on the orignal threads were from some kind of professional organisation, not the normal Sussex Squad (who are at the bottom of the chain) . I too saw patterns ages ago which, is why I avoided any H & M threads for the last couple of years and hopped over to a site where free speech was permitted.

. Their language was 'narcissistic lawyer' talk and you can't argue against that. Shame as it the site must have lost lots of traffic becuase of them, Begs the question why is the media under such scrutiny, but these reputation PR agencies are permitted to utilise such dirty tactics
