King Charles support of his daughter(in law) is so very touching.

Please keep the comments positive and on topic. We have all had enough vitriol for weeks now.

King Charles is 'so proud' of 'beloved' Kate after cancer news, says palace - BBC News

King Charles, who himself is being treated for cancer, says he is "so proud" of his "beloved" daughter-in-law's courage.

I haven’t read the whole thread but I don’t think I’ve seen any sycophancy here, just sympathy and empathy.

Salemforcuddles · 27/03/2024 13:53

Sycophancy means insincere flattery t gain advantage. Not sure where anyone has been insincere ow what advantage they would hope to gain

This made me laugh. I promise there is nothing I want or need from KC or CPW.

Well, no

Salemforcuddles · 27/03/2024 14:00

Perhaps KC will invite us for tea or some lovely cheese tasting

Olderthanthetrees · 27/03/2024 14:00

To answer everyone at once, what I meant was, I find it hard to understand why everyone is thrilled that Charles is "proud" of Katherine? Of course it is normal and understandable for him to be proud of her, given recent circumstances and the way she has conducted herself, but why is an article necessary on the topic? Of course he is, and should be, proud of her, as are many other relations of people who are undergoing cancer treatment! I don't understand why there is an article about it or why it is the subject of a thread. It's the unnecessary sycophancy I find strange but each to their own I guess!

AliceOlive · 27/03/2024 14:02

Maybe loan us a castle for a week? I don’t think I’d feel comfortable hanging out with them really. what would we talk about? RFF on MN?

I bet they would love our chat and gossip 😇

AliceOlive · 27/03/2024 14:03

@Olderthanthetrees No one is “thrilled”. It was just something light to chat about. No big deal.

Maybe they’d come over to mine or yours instead.

I ignored the ref to Sycophancy and and replied to question about caring for others. I suspect others did the same.

Salemforcuddles · 27/03/2024 14:05

I'll put the kettle on

Who said they were “thrilled”? People are just touched that he’s showing public support for his daughter in law, particularly as they have both had recent cancer diagnoses.

Isn’t it a normal human reaction to admire warmth and support between family members?

Salemforcuddles · 27/03/2024 14:34

@Olderthanthetrees Why are you labelling people?

AliceOlive · 27/03/2024 14:34

@Olderthanthetrees you may have missed it but it was asked by MNHQ that everyone stop with that. It’s on another thread so maybe you didn’t see it.

Salemforcuddles · 27/03/2024 14:35

@AliceOlive you are so right, I shall ignore and report where appropriate as MN have asked, thank you

AliceOlive · 27/03/2024 14:36

Happy to give some benefit of doubt. Like someone else wrote, it went a bit sideways there for a bit.

@Olderthanthetrees
If it bothers you that people are posting positively about Charles being proud of Catherine on a thread entitled "King Charles so proud of Princess Catherine", you can always go and do something else less bothersome?

Olderthanthetrees · 27/03/2024 14:38

I wasn't aware that I had Salemforcuddles?

AliceOlive · 27/03/2024 14:38

There’s not blanket validation anywhere on MN, anyway.

And equally, I have a right, same as anyone else, to express an opinion about it thanks.

Salemforcuddles · 27/03/2024 14:39

@Olderthanthetrees weren't you? How odd
