This is the last comment I'm going to reply to about Catherine being described as bland and boring because it's derailing the thread and it's unfair to the OP.
Those who are supportive of Catherine don't usually agree with the description of bland and boring but know it's what the Sussex crew typically accuse her of.
And actually, it's rather a bizarre description of Catherine.
She's played piano on international live TV, she's gone abseiling, sailing, taken part in athletics while on visits, released a book of photography, to name just a few random things.
It's not as if she just rocks up smiles sweetly and stays silent. She's an active involved in her causes and passionately campaigns for early years - she hosted a national symposium last year and set up a steering group prior to that. You can see how much she loves children and babies when she's out and about.
The only possible explanation for the bland and boring tag is because she dresses conservatively now, which is what is expected of the members of the royal family - and contrasts quite sharply with her pre-royal days. And she's well-spoken, professional, and has good manners.
She's a sporty, active princess that is never afraid to get her hands dirty or take part in activities which wouldn't be traditionally done during a royal visit.
Apparently if you're not controversial, loud, or outspoken, you must be bland and boring? She seems nice, kind, and friendly - I'm not sure when those qualities became so undesirable. It's all just ridiculous. Plus I think she has a backbone of steel - that much is evident from her video the other day. That must have been really bloody hard to film.
Apologies to @AliceOlive again - let's get back to the intended subject!
