Breaking news.

OP posts:
BruFord · 22/03/2024 18:45

I had a nasty feeling that it was cancer, poor woman. 🙁

TraitorsGate · 22/03/2024 18:45

Just waiting for the what type is it, where is it, nhs vs private, she should have told us earlier , non expert but expert opinions threads.

Inyournewdress · 22/03/2024 18:45

Blogswife · 22/03/2024 18:04

Let’s hope that shuts everyone up . How awful that the media and hysterical public have driven her to have to issue this statement at such a difficult time. Poor girl .

Absolutely agree with you. Clearly for whatever reason it was, and now we know, she needed time and privacy.

I hope the tinfoil hat brigade will reflect on how their crazy theories and harassment have affected real people.

Runnerinthenight · 22/03/2024 18:45

Never mind treatment - they will still feel the same anguish that anyone in their position does!

Yes, that’s what I said.

WTAF?!!

concernedchild · 22/03/2024 18:46

Not a fan of the royals but bloody hell. I keep getting teary at her video thinking of her poor kids

Letmehaveabloodyusernameplease · 22/03/2024 18:47

Doseofreality · 22/03/2024 18:31

Why?

For stating a fact. She will be getting the best of the best treatment.
it’s a fact that private cancer treatment gives you options that aren’t available on the NHS.
Yes, it’s shit that she has cancer, but if you are going to get cancer you want to be able to access the care she is able to.

You can think poor Kate but still think she is extremely privileged to have the best team around her possible. They are not exclusive. There’s no shame to be found in that.

I find the hysterical gushing rather disturbing.

I've lost two members of my family to cancer. It's shit. Whether you're rich or poor a cancer diagnosis pulls the rug from underneath the entire family. No matter how quick and efficient your treatment may be. Your days are filled with worry and fear for the future. You live every day in an anxious state.
I find your posts insulting.
She is a mother of 3 young children.
Can you imagine how they must be feeling?
And what about William, finding out your father and wife both have cancer?
The amount of absolute shite I've read on here these last few days makes me hate people.

crumblingschools · 22/03/2024 18:47

Many cancer treatment is done by NHS even if you have private healthcare.

Doseofreality · 22/03/2024 18:47

nappyvalley2024 · 22/03/2024 18:40

So shocked, Kate is so healthy and athletic, the last person you would think to get cancer.

That is the most ridiculous statement ever.

OP posts:
Quizine · 22/03/2024 18:48

I am very sorry to hear she has cancer but I am not completely surprised. I am glad however that she made the video statement as NOW she will be left in peace since people now know the reason she has been incommunicado.

That's the reality, nature abhors a vacuum, and there is none anymore now that the world knows. I wish her and family well.

So that's POW and the King undergoing cancer treatment at the same time. That's pretty awful.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 22/03/2024 18:48

She shouldn't have had to do that statement.

She only had to do it to shut up the trolls. Shame.

BeaLola · 22/03/2024 18:48

OP / I have been diagnosed with cancer and my NHS treatment has been amazing - I feel incredibly grateful.

I would not wish my worst enemy to hear the words "you have cancer" -I sincerely hope you ate never in that position - it's awful to hear that news.

I feel for Kate and her family and wish her the very Vern best as she undergoes her treatment .

SecretSoul · 22/03/2024 18:48

Doseofreality · 22/03/2024 18:32

Do you know her personally? Because that is a really over the top reaction.

I’ll be honest, I had tears prickling my eyes.

I’ve lost close loved ones to cancer. I also have young children and imagining having to break this kind of news to them would be so, so awful.

You really have so little empathy or compassion that you can’t begin to see why this might be quite emotional to watch?

Also, I hope Catherine does have amazing doctors. But I also hope that anyone diagnosed with cancer also gets the best treatment. I don’t see how wishing for ANYONE with cancer to have to endure delays or poor treatment is helpful. Why is it a race to the bottom? If anyone has access to private healthcare - and many people do - then bloody good. Sniping about a woman’s private healthcare who’s been diagnosed with cancer just because our government has destroyed our NHS is just bloody spiteful.

I hope you got a warm fuzzy glow for being such an arse.

Enigma52 · 22/03/2024 18:48

TwigletsAndRadishes · 22/03/2024 18:40

Jeez, there are some absolute arseholes on this thread.

Agree!! Unbloodybelievable!

HesterPrincess · 22/03/2024 18:49

I'm horribly sad for Catherine, what a shock she's had.

But what a weight William is carrying too.

Hope they are surrounded by good people.

She hasn't been hounded. She has security guards and homes where she can live in peace and quiet.

Why would she be worried about comments from strangers on social media and the internet?

Just unbelievable..

heatersneaker · 22/03/2024 18:49

wordler · 22/03/2024 18:18

As I think Steve Jobs showed us there’s no amount of money or privilege that can buy your way out of a serious health condition.

I thought he showed that a vegan diet doesn't put cancer into remission

Just because she didn’t have people banging on the doors of Kensington Palace, you think she wasn’t hounded? The global media (mainstream and social) interest has been insane.

Mumtoaswiftie31 · 22/03/2024 18:50

What I don’t understand is why all of a sudden everyone feels sorry for her kids and her and it’s all omg it’s cancer
Before the cancer diagnosis it was very obviously that she had serious abdominal surgery where you know many viral organs live. It was obvious it was no ordinary day surgery ans there is many many life threatning illness equally as traumatic as cancer for example

if it was her bowel that part was removed ( stoma etx ( and that’s what was tested and came back as cancer after… regardless of the cancer surgery .. serious bowel / liver / pancreas / kidney diseases are as fatal and traumatic. They should have always had respect and the sympathy and well wishes not just now it’s cancer.

CrispsandCheeseSandwich · 22/03/2024 18:50

Halloweenrainbow · 22/03/2024 18:38

They said initially that her surgery was not cancer related and now there's this diagnosis and treatment that the BBC describe as "preventative". Are we to assume that the cancer was an incidental finding and that its caught early?

Also to the people saying conspiracy theorists should be ashamed - actually many people were spot-on that there was something more to this situation than we were being told.

Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Yes, they said tests after the surgery showed cancer was present.

Kensington palace have said that William missed the memorial service due to them getting the news about the cancer, so a while after the initial surgery.

Mylovelygreendress · 22/03/2024 18:50

I hope that some posters on here and on SM are feeling guilty tonight . Poor woman .

WTAF?!!

Because that's all the poor woman has had written about her on mn recently, bloody disgraceful victim blaming and this awful news won't stop the ghouls. What did you think I meant?

crumpet · 22/03/2024 18:51

woahboy · 22/03/2024 18:17

It's true though. She will be at the front of every queue and will 100% get the BEST cancer specialists. She will never see a public ward

I had cancer treatment on the NHS. Can’t fault the service, the treatment or the care I was given for nearly 6 years. It would not have been better if treated privately (possibly smarter rooms to be tested in).
