Breaking news.

OP posts:
Over40Overdating · 22/03/2024 18:59

Even this won’t shut the ghouls up.
The conspiracy theory nut jobs will keep nutjobbing & the ‘we’re entitled to know’ demanders will speculate.

I cannot imagine being diagnosed with cancer, trying to protect my kids from it as I come to terms with it and having to shoot a video to announce it to the world for it to be picked over by millions, because there are too many saddos with an internet connection and not enough else going on in their life who get a thrill from making up total lies.

People need to get a life and be grateful they aren’t in her shoes. She may have the money to buy the best health care but cancer has a funny way of not giving a fuck about that & she and her children will be terrified regardless. That kind of fear leaves a very deep mark no matter who you are.

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/03/2024 19:00

I hope this will put an end to the speculation and nastiness. I’m sick of the negative Kate threads. Poor woman.

Mumtoaswiftie31 · 22/03/2024 19:00

@rocksavage tbf ( this isn’t about Kate Middleton ) but the NHS treatment is far better for cancer patients than it is for most other conditions.
however I would never say to someone who was diagnosed with cancer oh well at least it’s not “ insert illness “ because it’s not treated as well.

LadyKenya · 22/03/2024 19:00

Mylovelygreendress · 22/03/2024 18:50

I hope that some posters on here and on SM are feeling guilty tonight . Poor woman .

Why would they? The same type of people that thrash Meghan don't, no doubt. That was bullying as well, in case you do not know the difference.

WishesPromised · 22/03/2024 19:01

I hope she's ok, she's the best one.

Salemforcuddles · 22/03/2024 19:01

@LadyKenya How did you manage to make this about Meghan??

BeethovenNinth · 22/03/2024 19:02

I am not remotely a royalist but I feel so sorry and wish her all the very best. I hope people can just leave her alone now.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/03/2024 19:03

TwigletsAndRadishes · 22/03/2024 18:33

Well I hope this means people will finally give the poor woman a break.

All you tittle tattling idiots who have spent weeks spreading and fueling rumours about affairs, a love child, marriage breakdowns, mental health breakdowns, calling William lazy for pulling out of engagements and suggesting that Kate is milking a minor procedure to get loads of time of duty, I hope you feel thoroughly ashamed of yourselves now.

As if this family isn't going through enough (bearing in mind William's father has a recent cancer diagnosis also) all this gossip and nasty speculation will have contributed to them feeling a whole lot worse.

I hope you are all proud of yourselves, you absolute fuckers.

Very well said, Twiglets - and thanks to @MNHQ for being on the ball in deleting some of the unpleasantness already posted

Your comments are totally vile. Goading folk who are crying at the news. You don’t know what people are going through do you? Some people might be going through treatment for cancer too or it’s close to home. I cried because I’m going through it too and I might not be royal or receiving private med treatment, I have a young family with the same worries and terrified beyond words!!!

Thinking of you and wishing you all
the best as you receive treatment x

anyoneanyoneanyone · 22/03/2024 19:05

Please all the horrible people go away. And remember when it comes down to it the cancer treatment in the UK Is often second to none. No amount of fNe or riches can stop it if it's inevitable. Really. That poor family with all the disgusting conspiracy theories from selfish trolls.

Those who were throwing around uncalled for conspiracy theories are the ones who now throw shit on the fact that she is materially privileged. Shame on you.

SecretSoul · 22/03/2024 19:05

rocksavage · 22/03/2024 18:53

I'm sad for the 1000 people in this country diagnosed with cancer today, but especially those trying to cope on statutory sick pay worrying about how they'll pay their bills whilst they receive treatment. I'm not crying over a stranger convalescing in luxury. If that makes me an awful person, so be it.

Funnily enough I can be sad for all those people, as well as a mother of three young children - who just happens to be wealthy and famous. They’re not mutually exclusive. Compassion isn’t a limited cup.

You don’t need to “cry over someone” to feel empathy.

I feel real compassion for ANY parent who has to tell their child that they have cancer.

I wish Catherine all the very best, the same as I would for anyone blighted by this bastard of a disease.

Going to sit back and eat popcorn while I wait for apologies from Stephen Colbert, Blake Lively, et cetera.

What a terrible time for the whole family. Praying for a speedy recovery.

coffeeandcake91 · 22/03/2024 18:25

Horrible that she was basically forced to share this news with the world!

Now can everyone shut up and let this family deal with this. Wishing her a quick recovery and best of health!

It had to come out eventually but it imo it does show just how batshit people are with conspiracy theories these days, like that poor woman that fell in the river last year.

Just calm down ffs.

Vespanest · 22/03/2024 19:09

When many people hear that someone has cancer it not only creates sympathy it is also a reminder of a loved one or even their own battle, and for the unlucky the grief that cancer caused. I beg people before they decide to take this piss over someone’s reaction or some form of class war, the topic of cancer has a visceral reaction, myself included

TerriPie · 22/03/2024 19:10

Horrendous news, can't imagine how much of a kick in teeth it must be to go through such major surgery thinking you'll be back to normal in 3 months to then be told they unexpectedly found cancer.

Devastating for the Prince of Wales as well, so much worry with Dad and Wife both having a life threatening illness. Let's not forget his Mum died tragically and he can't confide in his brother.

The whole family must be terrified of what the future could hold. Money or no money makes no difference to the fear and raw human emotions they will be experiencing.

Everyone I know with cancer has been treated quickly and effectively by the NHS.

how many years have you been waiting for your cancer treatment then?

woahboy · 22/03/2024 19:13

charliefair · 22/03/2024 18:19

@woahboy

It's true though. She will be at the front of every queue and will 100% get the BEST cancer specialists. She will never see a public ward

She still has fucking cancer. Of course she won't be in a public ward, but do you really think the chemo is any different? They will have a special potion made up just for her? Being first in line means fuck all with cancer.

Yep she has cancer and I wish her well. But you can put money on her not having had her op pulled at the last minute and rescheduled for 2 weeks later as it did to a friend of mine a month ago due to 'timetabling'. Can you imagine the added stress that created?

The chemo will be the same but the speed, quality and treatment will be completely different and you are a fool if you think otherwise.

YankSplaining · 22/03/2024 19:13

Salemforcuddles · 22/03/2024 19:07

You might be waiting a while

I bet Blake will apologize. Bad look for her to be a famous mother with young children and not apologize for inadvertently making things more difficult for another woman in the same position. Also, her husband has the next Deadpool movie coming out this summer, and no one in the Lively/Reynolds camp will want something like this to even possibly taint Ryan Reynolds.

Summerrabbit · 22/03/2024 19:14

I also felt emotional watching the video & seeing her falter at points. I have stage 4 bowel cancer & when I heard that Kate was having major abdominal surgery it resonated with me because I have had the same. I also have a young daughter.
One would hope this would make all those clamouring for more details of the surgery & her condition to put themselves in her shoes as the mother of young children. I hope that she now gets the privacy she deserves.
