Photoshoot for the Sussex Children?

MrsFinkelstein · 21/03/2024 16:03

I actually hope this isn't true. It's one thing I've always admired of the Sussexes, that they have (generally) protected their children's privacy very effectively.

I hope its not related to the new commercial venture.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Meghan Markle has photoshoot of Archie and Lilibet

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: The photo-shoot, at Prince Harry and Meghan's mansion in Montecito, coincided with the launch of Meghan's lifestyle and cookery brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Lillie’s kitchen? Not Archie’s? How sexist! Will we have 11 year old Lillie writing to the President about her own parents’ sexism?

Lilli's kitchen would be quite an unfortunate name choice given Lily's Kitchen is already a quite well known brand of pet food in the UK.

Mercurial123 · 22/03/2024 07:07

Lily's kitchen is a pet food brand, so that might cause some confusion.

Cross posted but glad to see it wasn't just me who thought it. 😅

How would they stick out?

They will have the normal lives of rich Californian kids.

Are there many other DC in that area with Prince/ Princess titles ? Surely they will be the only ones at school ?

That's what I was thinking. Not many with a title, never mind Prince or Princess. Plus Princess Lilibet is a particularly distinctive link to the British RF.

Mylovelygreendress · 22/03/2024 07:27

@Outthedoor24 . H and M supporters insist that they have plenty of money and no need to ask the wicked RF for support !
Harry had huge inheritances from his Mum and the QM and apparently Meghan was a millionaire in her own right ( despite not owning property or a car).

IsoldeWagner · 22/03/2024 07:27

BemusedAmerican · 21/03/2024 23:38

Perhaps they feel obligated to prove the kids actually exist as there are conspiracy theories about their existence.

Yes, although during that Platinum Jubilee weekend they shared a picture of Princess Lilibet sitting in a garden.

Remember the wee security bill. Is that not estimated to be £10 m a year.
That wasn't taken into account when they did their sums?

Maybe they thought Pa would carry on paying that bill, if not the UK taxpayer.

CurlewKate · 22/03/2024 07:42

I honestly can't decide whether Team Sussex or Team Wales are the more paranoid and deluded. It's completely extraordinary.

Harry himself said that he never expected to have to pay for his own security.
He whinged to OW that he was financially cut off . Imagine a near middle aged man having to support himself !!

Or live on his mother's inheritance!

Did he not say that was for his DC ??

How different is this to Will and Catherine trotting out their children when it suits them?

It's just a nickname H&M fans gave themselves online, and a hashtag they use.

It's just like "Team X" and "Team Y" - just a fan thing.

They are very well-organised, and IMO, very toxic and nasty to anyone they don't like. They've been a main driver in all of the negative rumours about the BRF.

Some RF fans are no better. I was followed round and hounded off another group for making supportive comments about Harry and Meghan. I was told in no uncertain terms that I was not welcome.

I'm more of the opinion that there's faults on all sides and neither couple have behaved perfectly, because they're humans and humans are all flawed.

In my opinion it’s because the Wales are working Royals . As far as I remember there is an agreement with the press about which photos of the children ( indeed any Royal children) will be published . For instance , you don’t see pap shots of the school run ( despite Meghan saying that Archie couldn’t go to school in the U.K. as there would be 40 photographers there every day!)
Rightiy or wrongly most of the public expect to see the DC of the Heir .
During the Platinum Jubilee, HM’s funeral and Coronation we saw more of the DC than usual but that isn’t normal.

woahboy · 22/03/2024 08:24

@Mylovelygreendress

I guess you feel politicians including the PM and all members of the RF are equally pathetic. 'Imagine being an adult and not supporting themselves' and all huh?

The big difference is the Wales are working Royals and their children will be expected to be working Royals too.

Their is an element of the Royal kids do need to grow up in the role doing the odd appropriate engagement.

They can't keep them hidden away and then expect them to suddenly be confident meeting strangers and being a star attraction at the age of 18.

Vespanest · 22/03/2024 08:38

I was under the belief that Harry wanted different for his children, than the “trotted out” of the royal family. It’s one of the things I believed about him. I do think there’s a difference between baby and toddler shots than primary age photos, as the child gets older they become more recognisable. The royal family have little choice unless the children never attend family and royal gatherings. I am still hoping this is speculation or maybe they are worried that the media, most likely social media will out the children anyway as they get more socially visible with school. It maybe an attempt to control the narrative.

Lili’s kitchen will no doubt feature a recipe for Marmalade Sandwiches as they were the late Queen’s favourite and Lili is named after her 🤪

Paddington will sue. He patented Her Maj’s Marmalade Sandwich long before that BP tea party ever took place. Crafty bear.

Completely different scenario. They are being brought up to live their lives in public. Harry and Meghan supposedly left to avoid that.

Exactly. I'm not sure why some posters feel the need to bring up the Wales children as if it's some kind of got you card, the two situations are not at all comparable.

The non working members of the RF have jobs . Not sure what your point is about the PM etc - they work ( how good they are is debatable !)
The point is that Harry thought he and his wife could flounce off to the US and do their own thing while still being supported by the RF ( ie us ).
Are you honestly saying that’s reasonable ? Oh and he wasn’t “ cut off”. Accounts show that Charles gave him millions in 2020.

MaturingCheeseball · 22/03/2024 09:10

Apparently the Queen did want to pay for Harry’s security - or at least the country (taxpayer) to pay, but this was dismissed at appropriate levels due to the immense cost of providing full worldwide protection for four people travelling willy-nilly around the world whenever they wanted.

Harry must be the most deluded person on the planet thinking he’s entitled to this. What really got my goat was saying Diana’s money was reserved for his children. Bloody cheek! Can you imagine any ordinary schmuck saying, “Yes, I know I’ve inherited £30m but I still want the country to pay for me cos I’m saving that.”

Mylovelygreendress · 22/03/2024 09:14

@MaturingCheeseball exactly. To think it is one thing but to actually say it 🤦‍♀️
