TMZ Producer says it ‘might not’ be Kate!

Severalwhippets · 21/03/2024 04:14

So after days of so many of us saying it is not Catherine, and being screamed at, shut down and called ‘crazies’ and ‘trolls’ and all kinds of offensive names. It turns out we were right after all. It does not appear to be Cathrrine (no shock there for many of us) According to the producer that beamed this out across the world. Clearly unverified. Incredible that the news outlets just went along with it - no questions asked. What does that say about the quality of our journalism?

It was a huge gas lighting exercise.

So now we know we have one fake Mother’s Day photo and now one fake farm shop footage - it begs the question in a much more pressing way - where is Catherine? The stupid memes have to stop. This isn’t funny or anything to joke about.

No one can verify even a single shot ( I am discounting the photo of Pippa in the car with Carole, and someone’s head in the car turned away in windsor)

I don’t believe we are going to see Catherine this Easter or at any time soon. I don’t know where she is, or what has happened to her but I feel extremely worried for her.

I await Kensington Palace’s statement - it’s about time we learnt the truth. How can it be any worse than what has been speculated?

What will happen next? As this can not continue any longer.

They can they’ve just chosen not to. Make of what you will
Yes, it feels like a game.

I wonder how all those saying it's not her on the video would react if CCTV from inside the store itself was leaked showing it definitely was?

And vice versa.

Oh don’t be so sanctimonious. Anyone posting propaganda 18 hours a day every day whilst claiming to have another job should be called out.

no they shouldn't, not by you.

I applaud them for it. I think it shows a great deal of restraint and decorum. Who wants a reactionary King?

I’m fine with no statement, it’s gossip mostly

If the BBC said what they did because it was them then I’ll have to recalibrate how a person can look that different in a car pap shot and later on so young looking and slimmer

I guess it’s possible, well if it is them it clearly is possible

Absolutely! Assuming it is her (and it is!), if I were trying to handle this at KP, I'd be arranging for it to be leaked.

Well then we'd know it's her wouldn't we, if it was a confirmed sighting. Tbh I'd then be wondering why she's briskly walking around and carrying her own bags but requires a further month's recovery, there having already been 2 months previous. I'd also question the thought process behind going out and doing a bit of shopping on a day you've stepped down from St Paddy's day duties as it doesn't come across very well. Of course she's allowed time to recover but it feels a bit like telling your employer you can't go into work because your ill but by 12pm you feel well enough to be out on the town on the piss. I mean personally if I take a day off and I was even seen walking about sober doing some shopping, it would raise eyebrows and id potentially get in trouble. Somebody please remind me what makes the royals different in that instance.

She's on medical leave until after Easter. That doesn't mean she needs to be bed-bound the entire time. I'm also pretty certain they take school holidays off with the kids too, so it's like she's just tacked some annual leave on the end of it.

The BBC news would not “forget” all the rules of broadcast journalism. I can only infer they had behind the scenes endorsement from palace sources. Edit: Either that or they’ve lost their marbles.

She’s a very slim woman but she’s significantly slimmer here. And younger. If you’re convinced by your explanations as to why she looks different, that’s up to you. The simple explanation is that it’s not her

@Mirabai these seem to be at odds?

Do you think it’s not her or BBC have endorsement?

Let’s also consider the current news stories:

  1. The DM reports that KP has confirmed she is working from home on her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood's (RFCEC) project as she eases back into work.
  2. The Sunday Times reports that she will not be picking up her official work schedule until after the children return to school (~ 18 April). No official engagements have been announced yet.

So is she easing back into work now or in a month? She’s jauntily striding around a farm shop but will not be well enough for public duties for several more weeks?

Book mark she has had three months off with her kids! She doesn’t need to take further time off if she is well, she can do light duties, zoom meetings. If she isn’t well then they need to be open about it to avoid further confusion, speculation and harm to the RF.

This feels like goalpost moving. Easter was the date supplied, Easter it should be.

The initial KP statement always said after Easter.

But she may well do the walk to church on Easter Sunday. We shall have to wait and see.

When I think about the Queen working with bone cancer up to her very last hours, with her red box still attended to - the comparison is so striking. Or things are much more serious than we are being led to believe.

The Times (not Sunday Times) story about her not coming back until after the school holidays was published on Saturday, so before the video was even taken, let alone shared. As I've said upthread, KP always said she'd be on medical leave until after Easter. That doesn't mean she needs to be bed-bound the entire time. She's also allowed to take time off when the kids are on holiday, surely? And great that she's jauntily striding around a farm shop – it shows the op was a success and she's well on the road to recovery.

Though I grant you The late Queen was remarkable.

I haven’t a scoobies what’s going on, and I don’t know anyone in journalism who knows either.

Personally I don’t think it’s her. I was fooled for a bit as one frame of her face looks like her, but the rest of it really doesn’t.

If she turns up at church at Easter, having lost weight post surgery, and post Mother’s Day photo, having had some cosmetic surgery during the break this so looking considerably younger, I will be happy to hold my hand up and say she just looks very different.

Clearly if Kate can stride around farm shops she can definitely manage a video call. Your posts are saying two things at once. She is too unwell to return to work on zoom and well enough to go shopping looking completely well!

And you wonder why people are questioning this narrative?

It doesn't matter if the speculation and confusion harms the RF, they are the royals.

Its not like we can vote them out in 4 years

If she's taking 3/4 months off and is well enough now to be doing what she's doing (in the instance it's her which I don't think it is) then she doesn't require such an extended leave. People may disagree with me and that's fine but I think it's a problem that the royals live off the public purse and are above the law, but can just deem themselves out of action without providing a suitable explanation. I think the whole idea of having royalty in 2024 is a problem in itself. They should be held to account MUCH more than the average person in situations like this. Somebody on benefits doesn't get benefit of the doubt that they need X amount of time off, they have to prove it with doctors notes and the like to universal credit/HMRC. I really don't see the difference here. And that's me being particularly strong about it, but it's true. If you had an operation and told UC you can't work for 6 months but your spotted lifting heavy bags and walking briskly when you've told them you can't work because of abdominal surgery, they would close your claim and you might even be done for fraud. Thus, some evidence or a direct statement explaining briefly what is happening, with proof of life, isn't outside the realms of an acceptable request. Them saying it was a planned surgery when evidence suggests otherwise, being out of commission but doing activities that contradict your apparent requirement of time off and then the fake images, leads us as the public to question what exactly is going on and rightfully so.

As a human being, I hope she is fine, but as a subject in a monarchy in a modern age when such establishments shouldn't really exist, I want to know what is going on and think we deserve a credible source giving us a credible explanation. The handling of this has been diabolical.

Ok, my fake Taylor Swift scenario actually made me see things more clearly.

I looked back at the very small handful of engagements they had in November and December. Arriving at events separately; travelling alone to Singapore for Earthshot; Kate’s jittery appearance and frankly slightly inappropriate clothing for the Korean visit; the press’s many innuendos and subtexts … others will oc disagree, but now I’ve actually looked at it, I’m convinced their relationship has broken down. They looked okay-ish together in Scotland on 2 Nov, and I didn’t look back at October. They both also missed Charles’s first State Opening of Parliament as King, which seems both unusual and pointed.

Anyway, enough time on here. It’s all very sad and murky.

I wasn't commenting on her not working at all. I was talking about her coming back after Easter. She may well have had some Zoom calls regarding the release of the early years report today. It's a cause dear to her heart. She's still on medical leave though as far as the wider public is concerned.
