TMZ Producer says it ‘might not’ be Kate!

Severalwhippets · 21/03/2024 04:14

So after days of so many of us saying it is not Catherine, and being screamed at, shut down and called ‘crazies’ and ‘trolls’ and all kinds of offensive names. It turns out we were right after all. It does not appear to be Cathrrine (no shock there for many of us) According to the producer that beamed this out across the world. Clearly unverified. Incredible that the news outlets just went along with it - no questions asked. What does that say about the quality of our journalism?

It was a huge gas lighting exercise.

So now we know we have one fake Mother’s Day photo and now one fake farm shop footage - it begs the question in a much more pressing way - where is Catherine? The stupid memes have to stop. This isn’t funny or anything to joke about.

No one can verify even a single shot ( I am discounting the photo of Pippa in the car with Carole, and someone’s head in the car turned away in windsor)

I don’t believe we are going to see Catherine this Easter or at any time soon. I don’t know where she is, or what has happened to her but I feel extremely worried for her.

I await Kensington Palace’s statement - it’s about time we learnt the truth. How can it be any worse than what has been speculated?

What will happen next? As this can not continue any longer.

The press have a quid pro quo arrangement with the Royals. They don’t publish pap shots and in return palace sources tip them off about stuff or confirm off the record. This came out in Prince Harry’s recent court cases and he also wrote about it in his book. Broadcasters wouldn’t have run it if KP told them not to.

Okay so you are saying the broadcasters could only run unverified footage IF it’s sanctioned by KP - even though KP refused to answer whether it was actually Catherine and William or not.

@EasternStandard I hope I’m answering the right person. Ignore this if not. :)

I think it was you who asked if AFP Reuters etc took the Mother’s Day photo from social media or were sent it directly.

AFP Mothers Day Photo

Chetwynd referred to a ‘handout’ so I think they are sent them by KP.

Phil Chetwynd, global news director of Agence France-Presse (AFP), told BBC Radio 4’s Media Show that the agency has reviewed its relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales and will rigorously inspect future picture handouts from the royals.

I don’t think news services take photos off social media. I think everyone expects there to be photoshopping on sm. I was listening to an interview with AFP spokesperson (it may have been Chetwynd) who said they wouldn’t even accept or send out a picture of the President if it had been photoshopped just to remove a ketchup stain from the President’s tie. So it seems they are pretty strict which is good given the knock on effects of misleading images etc.. (I wish that newspapers were that strict).

Kate Middleton Doctored Photo: AFP Says Kensington Palace No Longer A “Trusted Source” & Kill Notices Usually Reserved For North Korea

Phil Chetwynd, global news director at AFP, revealed that Kensington Palace is no longer a "trusted source" after Kate Middleton picture row.

Yes the BBC, Sky news to name a few.

The BBC reported it as fact that it was them but verification from KP reports are conflicting. They were reputed to have said KP verified it at one point but equally they also reported that it had not been verified.

Jesus Christ, I tried to catch up on the whole thread but its full of unpleasant posts directed at the OP and its absolutely not remotely 'in the spirit of MN'. @Severalwhippets I really urge you to report every single personal attack, despite thinking its not usually necessary, this constant attack on you is not ok.

As for this: FGS the Mothers Day photo was edited, doesn't mean it was fake. The kill notice was probably about driving more traffic to the Reuters website.

IT WAS A FAKE PHOTO. Several agencies killed it and various experts have confirmed pixel manipulation and Kate being added into a photo. That is a fake. William did not take that photo because that photo does not exist. This is an extraordinary level of deception when it was not necessary to do so. When the palace goes to this length to try and deceive us, there is going to be a reason. The reason is not 'Kate is recovering' or "Kate is being bullied'. If they can stay quiet about accusations of racism, they can stay quiet during her so-called recovery for a few months. There is a reason they tried to deceive us. Its absolutely reasonable for people to ask what that is.

@Severalwhippets

I don’t want to live in a society riddled with lies and deception,

As far as the press are concerned that ship sailed long ago. Personally if I haven't seen it with my own eyes I don't believe it necessarily happened the way it has been reported. Issues I have known about at first hand that have made it to the papers have never, IME, reported factually what actually happened if you were there.

So where would you source your news, given you can’t physically be in Ukraine for instance? It’s generally accepted the BBC at least try and deliver something approaching accurate information- be it politically motivated at times. But this is unverified - and clearly should not have seen the light of day in the first place.

Wow so a guy buys a clip of Kate then proceeds to cast doubt in its veracity? Hmm I wonder why he would do that? Its not like he stands to gain anything by continuing to whip up the media frenzy around all this does he?

Its a total mystery!

THANK YOU. It is the deception that bothers me - not whether Kate has had x,y or z at a London clinic.

If I were a trashy gossip rag editor, I don’t think it would be beyond the realms in the current circumstances to hire a celebrity lookalike couple, have them visit a public place close to the Wales’ home and film it on a shitty mobile phone. All for clicks. It’s how they operate. The hilarious thing is how easily the lickspittle royalists fall for it.

This sounds messy. So much swirling around

So covered all bases. Creating confusion around what was ultimately fake footage. Passed off as real.

FFS- give it a break, another thread discussing someone’s personal health and situation. Shame on anyone who is continuing to contribute their thoughts on this with an air of entitlement about needing to know- you really, really don’t need to know, nor are you entitled to know, it just isn’t a thing. Get over to Tattle if you need to make some new friends.

Begsthequestion · 21/03/2024 10:48

TMZ are running a documentary tonight on Fox called "Where is Kate?"

It features a guy who is famous for publishing fake photos for clicks in a national newspaper, Piers Morgan.

Make of that what you will.

I know how it works I used to work in the media. The point stands that the press have endorsed this footage without it being officially confirmed by KP.

It would be a good way to get loads of people interested, posting, clicking

I really wish I had changed the title. Ultimately the issue here is not so much about Kate, I hope to dear God she is okay, but more about the lies we are being fed. And the purpose.

It’s not about TMZ making money - that’s up to them - it’s about trusted broadcasters running with fake photos from Mother’s Day - the BBC continued to do this even as supposedly Kate apologised for it. And now this footage - which was totally unverified being allowed to run and run as fact.

They shouldn’t be. It’s wrong, I absolutely agree with you on that. We should be able to trust the BBC. Unfortunately they’re not the same trustworthy organisation that they once were… or have they ever been? Maybe we’ve been swallowing their propaganda for years while holding them up as a bastion of integrity and neutrality. It does make you wonder. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But never officially endorsed, so they’re covered if it’s rumbled to be fake.

I’m not sure if this is someone having a laugh or whether KP indicated behind doors this is genuine but never officially verified it.

Someone is massively taking the piss.

Chucklecheeks01 · 21/03/2024 10:55

Op live your life, let the Royals live theirs. You have no right to demand answers.
I find it bizarre that this has stoked so much media and public interest.
What right or need do you have to demand answers? How will knowing anything change your life?

Wordsofprey · 21/03/2024 10:55

You'll get these kind of comments that contradict themselves each time

"It's obviously her, what's wrong with you??"
Then the executive producer of the news outlet that released the video says they aren't sure and you're seeing
"Maybe it was just a randomer? Why do you care? So weird!!!!!!"

Of course people are interested in the future queen not being confirmed seen since a motorcade and ambulance were seen going from Sandringham around Christmas to a hospital, when then scheduled events and overseas trips were cancelled... Doesn't seem it was scheduled to me

They're just like us! They need privacy! You're so awful this is like stalking! Meanwhile these are the british royal family funded at least someway by taxpayer money, literally above the law, with enough money and riches to end poverty in this country, who ONLY still exist because "oh tradition they're so great!" And because there is an unspoken deal that they will continue to do public events and raise money through tourism etc.

I'm absolutely certain if there was any world war or threat to the UK, they would all be in hiding safe and sound and be quite happy to allow the common folk to struggle on and suffer.

With this pedestal they sit on, comes different responsibilities and consequences. We're not talking about Kate from around the way who frequents the local pub and is just like us, this is the future queen and mother to the future King of the commonwealth.

We are allowed to be curious and guess what, it's been a slow news year or so and this is a fairly gripping mystery given all the inconsistencies and lack of actual proof of life that would put to bed rumours in an instant. If the palace was able to, and wanted to stop this theorising, they could and they would.

From what I can tell, something happened over Christmas that was both an emergency and unexpected, due to cancelling of events etc that followed. I DO believe she was in a coma, but hard to tell why. The lack of sightings since and backpedalling on future events in June(trooping of the colours, removed attendance from MOD website, odd..) is really strange given statements KP has given thus far. I don't think it looked like her in the video at the farm shop, and oddly BBC didn't report on it at all, only about the conspiracies that stemmed from it. Why not? Probably because it's clear it isn't her.

At this point if she was well enough I think they'd have out out a statement and said so, and provided some level of proof of life. But they haven't. She could be gravely ill, or if she's just taken a step back from the limelight and is fine, and if she IS fine, they've done irrepairable damage to their reputation for no good reason. And this is the royal couple who had managed to make people feel good about the royals again, so either way there must be something serious happening behind the scenes. I don't think Kate would step away for this long otherwise, she's very image conscious and seems like a genuinely nice woman.

Either way I'm counting down the days until end of April to see what we are both see and are told when/if she is back then.

I can only find BBC stories reporting on the debate about the footage.
