So after days of so many of us saying it is not Catherine, and being screamed at, shut down and called ‘crazies’ and ‘trolls’ and all kinds of offensive names. It turns out we were right after all. It does not appear to be Cathrrine (no shock there for many of us) According to the producer that beamed this out across the world. Clearly unverified. Incredible that the news outlets just went along with it - no questions asked. What does that say about the quality of our journalism?

It was a huge gas lighting exercise.

So now we know we have one fake Mother’s Day photo and now one fake farm shop footage - it begs the question in a much more pressing way - where is Catherine? The stupid memes have to stop. This isn’t funny or anything to joke about.

No one can verify even a single shot ( I am discounting the photo of Pippa in the car with Carole, and someone’s head in the car turned away in windsor)

I don’t believe we are going to see Catherine this Easter or at any time soon. I don’t know where she is, or what has happened to her but I feel extremely worried for her.

I await Kensington Palace’s statement - it’s about time we learnt the truth. How can it be any worse than what has been speculated?

What will happen next? As this can not continue any longer.

Genuine question, what will make you believe she is okay? Do you need to see her in person? Would you believe it was really her and not a lookalike? What can be done to change your mind on this?

Just have a think about how vanishingly unlikely it is that any of the conspiracy theories are true. What is the end goal for the royal family? What is this alleged cover up for?? It makes no sense whatsoever.

I know, it started from the second I posted and was truly shocking and not like MN at all - even at its worst. I still think the subject is relevant. I don’t want to live in a society riddled with lies and deception, and I have not enjoyed watching this fiasco unfold around the RF. It really undermines public trust and confidence.

I feel some were expecting a thread to come up about it, and why wouldn’t it? Most people want to know if Kate is okay. But some really went for it on here, and to my mind in a way that was very different to a normal pile on.

I am not taking it personally but I am wondering about the motivation. Because this is a forum open for debate - we live in a democracy and can speak respectfully about anything we want to. Including the royal family.

It was only ever the "media" who claimed its them, not the farm shop staff, the RF or members of the public. Why shop at an expensive farm shop, don't they grow their own food at Windsor?

Thing is OP, an outlet like TMZ makes its profits from celebrity gossip and is not subject to UK libel laws nor any sense of duty or journalistic standard to report the truth.

So it's in its interests to cast doubt on the veracity of the footage, even after it published it as fact. It has nothing to lose, and everything to gain from continuing the speculation.

Until more serious news outlets cast the same or similar doubts, I would not spend too much time thinking about it.

And that doesn’t mean that there’s some grand conspiracy. Or that she’s been replaced or whatever. Just simply that a couple of people were, for whatever reason, playing dress up/body doubles had been hired. You do know that hiring body doubles isn’t some out there sci-fi concept but something that many A list type celebs/politicians will probably have cause to do once or twice in their lifetimes for reasons of security, convenience - and many other.

I did think that initially - that she’s could have lost loads of weight from surgery, that she’s not wearing makeup which makes her look younger. There is one angle where she looks really like Kate. But I don’t think it’s her.

I posted that it was not Kate at the farm shop, and the executive producer also now has some doubt. That is quite a departure from the certainty of a few days ago when they circulated it worldwide.

The point of the discussion was actually to explore why the BBC and others are allowed to beam unverified footage around the world as fact? How was that ever allowed to happen in the first place.

My second point was noting the sheer incompetence of Kensington Palace and some exasperation of the strategy or lack of.

I am afraid it looks like the wheels have come off after the Queen died, and it now no longer looks like anyone is in the driving seat.

If it was footage of a "random couple shopping" (as opposed to W & K or a couple of hired lookalikes) do you not think the random couple would have come forward by now to confirm it was not W & K or hired lookalikes)?

Why are you so worried about her? She has family. Weird that you should be so emotionally affected by the public absence of someone you don't know.

Babe, the woman clearly has some issue with disordered eating. If your best mate in real life got as skinny as she is you’d be panicking but for some reason people like to pretend she’s fiiiine. (And I’m saying that as someone who has family members and friends who are naturally skinny and had people make negative stupid comments about anorexia etc - but Catherine has obviously been bigger before, such as during her uni years as a 19 year old, so it’s not a natural state for her)

she’s now been ill for whatever reason, had an operation and has lost even more weight. I’m not going to declare it is her because news sources can be tricksters but to me it looks like her but severely underweight.

Realistically though you probably need to take a step back and recognise that if someone doesn’t want to be seen by the country or be spoken about that it is their choice and business. If the royal family have returned to their true form of giant man-eating land squid and gobbled her up yes it’s sad for her and her kids but you’re fine. It doesn’t impact you. No one is trying to gaslight you directly - the press make shit up all the time and sometimes they trip up and we catch them out. Other times we believe it.

perhaps Catherine never existed and she was all just a figment of the Daily Mail’s imagination. But for your own sake you need to stop worrying about it.
