@AliceOlive I do not know what to say if you do not understand the kill notice or the multiple comments explaining in what circumstances this is issued ie. if a photo is fake.

This is an excellent summary of the issues.

Shame that the part that's verifiable - when the photos were taken - is wrong.

Or does no-one trust the forensic analysis done by the news agencies? It found all images used were taken on the Friday (plus explained which bits were altered)

ArcaneWireless · 18/03/2024 14:42

I don’t know what to say either when folk blindly state pish as fact.

I’m with Alice on this.

I don’t see too much here on MN that I find credible.

Exactly.

AliceOlive · 18/03/2024 14:45

ABC news in America reported the farm shop visit now. They are just citing the Sun, but would they do that if it was not credible?

Are you on glue? The psychotic polar bear is not real. His name has been taken from some book that I am sure you have not read. And his bodyguard are not armed. That’s not allowed in the UK. Those little cases marked GLOCK have musical instruments in them 🙄. Anyone can walk within 3 miles of his house and peer over the fence. I’ve seen photos of his marmalade sandwich monogrammed doorbell.
Why didn’t he visit the late Queen at her castle? Was it because when he did take tea with her, he had been at the mushrooms and drank tea from the spout?
I’m not sure about him playing strip poker with angry frothing beavers. I’ve googled and I can’t find anything

Edited to change polar bead to bear 😆

Edited

I have read the book, actually, there were at least 25 copies of it under the bed at the Air BnB I stayed at at Christmas. You seem to think the normal rules apply to Paddington and his protection, sorry to disappoint you, but VIBs (very important bears), especially ones with diplomatic credentials like Paddington are allowed to be surrounded with armed polar bears and, even more fearsome, machete wielding raccoons, who are known for their jam sandwich eater kill count. What’s unfair is that Paddington is forced to sell his marmelade secrets to the Peruvian government to pay for the cost of this, when the UK taxpayer should be footing the bill.

He’s been forced into an eleventy billion dollar deal with NitFlix, the online streaming channel for jungle animals; where, in an artfully filmed docuseries, he will show himself being mercilessly pursued by parrotazzi, having a tense conversation with Prince William about the whereabouts of Diana’s Jams and Other Preserves cook book, and crying in despair into an empty marmalade jar. If only the queen had allowed him half marmalade, half marmite, none of this would be happening.

I’m not sure about him playing strip poker with angry frothing beavers. I’ve googled and I can’t find anything

You’re talking about that trip to Las Vegas, where he was totally ambushed in the buff when his duffel coat was at the dry cleaners. Once again, Paddington is the victim here. All he had was his hat as a stake, and the beavers took a few au naturale photos as collateral. He paid them all back in jars of marmalade within 24 hours, but the duplicitous Madame beaver had already sold the photos to a pro monarchist Australian possum from The Sun bearing a grudge. Paddington can’t win, the establishment and pro royal media is out to get him.

AliceOlive · 18/03/2024 14:54

ABC? No, they don’t get involved in that. Most certainly not trying to protect Trump.

Myotheripodisayoto · 18/03/2024 14:56

Meh.

  1. the sun is pro RF
  2. no witness actually named
  3. no one else saw a thing
  4. no pictures
  5. location accessible from within the estate to ensure no exposure to paparazzi etc.

It will have been a staged thing. Shop closed to public, prob asked to open early for k&w with only 1 or two trusted members of estate staff. A trusted member of k&w household/friend etc with them given permission to "leak" that she had been seen to the Sun knowing they would report it favourably.

ThisGreyPoster · 18/03/2024 14:57

@Myotheripodisayoto That would make sense. So they are not outright lying, but no one can confirm she looks well.

Myotheripodisayoto · 18/03/2024 14:59

A real/unstaged spot might have been realistic eg.
"K was in trackies because she's had surgery & was careful on her feet but W was helping. She was tired but cheerful and commented she'd been bored at home" would be more normal than "she'd looked super healthy & perfect & made zero reference to recovery".

AliceOlive · 18/03/2024 14:59

Delphigirl · 18/03/2024 13:45

The problem is that the Prince of Wales, the apparent next head of state, released under his own name a photo of his wife that he said he took, and he did so specifically to “prove” that she was not in a coma, or dead, or with significant facial injuries due to domestic violence. Those were the public concerns. But there was no such photo. He never took one. Somebody pieced together a collage of photos of his kids from several months ago, a different background, and his wife’s face from 8 years ago, and that was the photo he released.

So the Prince of wales lied to the public - about the fact that he was on that patio with his wife and children on the day he said he took it, that the photo represented something that happened, and that the public could accept that as evidence that his wife was not dead, in a coma etc. he put a forged document into the historical record. If I was a judge and he appeared in my courtroom I would start from a position that he is a man who is happy to lie and forge for his own purposes. That is shocking but that’s where we are.

So he lied. Why? What is he hiding? And how many other lies have we been told? One has to assume a lot, given the contradictions in everything we are hearing. And why should the public accept anything at face value that comes out of his mouth or his operation at Kensington Palace?

I think the public deserves a better person to be their next head of state. I’m not alone in that. Sadly we don’t have any choice in the matter.

Can’t possibly read all of this, but he took the picture to put one up for Mother’s Day. That’s all. It’s a traditional thing they do.

AliceOlive · 18/03/2024 15:01

They just present facts rather than feeding “here’s what you should think” like most other US media. The normal people with brains here watch them.

ThisGreyPoster · 18/03/2024 15:01

Myotheripodisayoto · 18/03/2024 15:03

Like i think if Kate's reading all this shit.... ...message from us all.....don't worry love. We aren't expecting you to suddenly emerge looking like a model. Own those comfy leggings. Whinge about the surgery. Get in a few jokes about seeing how long you can make W do everything for you at home.

I think what they think the public like (perfection) and what we all actually like (down to earth/normal) are miles apart.

Ceriscene · 18/03/2024 15:05

I've just read in one version of the identikit coverage of The Farm Visit that there are no photographs, in accordance with their wishes that they be left alone.

Anyone else enjoying being treated like a thick peasant?

AliceOlive · 18/03/2024 15:10

I get you. No, they aren’t great but not CNN or Fox, either.

Saturdayflame · 18/03/2024 15:35

Heading for a soft exit and they're playing for time and keeping a holding pattern whilst they (understandably) get complicated private negotiations done.

Suspect Kate is refusing to play the game now and everyone is quiet-quitting till things are finalised.

Public will be breadcrumbed until then with occasional glimpses of life.

The royal-press deal is one photogenic woman to target. Only Kate and Charlotte now.

Camilla will show no mercy in leaking personal info and stories about Kate to protect her own reputation.

No Kate photos, then up comes Camilla's luxury holiday.

So Camilla has to give them something, or she'll be the unpopular Queen before she knows it.

(unless they want to set up one of the cousins? Watch out Beatrice and Eugenie kids!

Pippa could have been the wayward sexy single sister and the new Margaret, but she married someone powerful).

Narrative the mainstream press will push is that they're "protecting Kate and The Children" from all the evil social media mob and you-know-who.

(....dog whistle....dog whistle.....).

Kate doesn't even seem the type to use SM or take it seriously - the Instagram page looks like a staid staffer has done it.

Same editors who encouraged their photographers to stalk and scream insults at 20 year old Kate to get a reaction or take photos up her skirt can keep their hands clean.

"It was all Tiktakkers!!!!".

Appears journalists are playing provocateur and planting SM posts to lead and goad others to make extreme negative comments, so the story can be "social media people are bad, main media good".

Obviously, it's not the people physically chasing her or who are in her office who did her dirty...

We all know multi-millionaire Kate with a close loving family actually worries about what Mumsnet or Nancy on Facebook said ;-)

Editorials they'll plan to run are how actually it was all social media and the types of people who use it
(...dog-whistle dog-whistle) who pressured the exit, and not the main media or Camilla!

They're the good guys!

Mako and Meghan left royal life, Charlene clearly wants to...I guess this may be the start of a slimmed down monarchy.

(Am I the only one who feels old?!)

martellotower · 18/03/2024 15:46

@NameChangedForThisOneThread and anyone else ... Do we have confirmation regarding when the mother's Day pic was taken ?
All the articles I've read say that the meta data shows when it was saved and edited but does not conform the date it was taken.

BBC Verify found that the portrait was taken with a Canon camera, and that it was subsequently saved twice in Adobe Photoshop on an Apple Mac computer. The first version was saved on March 8 at 21:54 GMT (or 5:54 p.m. ET), and the second version was saved the following day at 9:39 GMT (or 5:39 a.m. ET).
In addition to corroborating these findings, the Sky News data and forensics team’s analysis also found that the photo was shot at Adelaide Cottage—where the Wales family resides in Windsor, west of London—with a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera with a Canon 50mm lens.
While both analyses confirmed the photo had been edited in Photoshop, neither yielded a date when the photo was actually taken.

NitFlix? That flea pit. But if you shag dogs you’ll get fleas and nits (or was that another poster 🤔)
As for him being a victim, I’ve seen actual footage of him leading a jail break, so he is not as innocent as like you is making him out to be
Anyway. I do not think you are posting in good faith about having read the book 25,000 times. I will not be engaging with you again*
