They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Is there no level this petty, bitter couple won't sink to?!

We all agree that the Royal Family must only fund themselves. No more Royal list or pennies from the public purse.

What I’ve noticed over the last few months is William and Catherine don’t actually have many fans as such. What they have is people who hate Megan and Harry. all their ‘fans’ talk about is Megan and Harry.

Megan and Harry are not working royals. We don’t fund them. They can do whatever they want, whenever they want. If they are so petty, nasty, worthless, nobodies then why would they outshine the heir to the throne?

You can be petty and a someone. The point is that they are someones, throwing their weight around on an evening dedicated to Harry's mother, the grandmother of their children.

NO they didn't! There was uproar. Even he acknowledges that, in his book. He worked with a Rabbi to try and make things better.

The press rebrand to cheeky scamp came much later. At the time the headline splash was ROYAL NAZI and HARRY THE NAZI. When he apologised, The Sun did a “So Sorry” headline with the Ss in an SS-style font, because of course they did, it’s The Sun. A lot of PR work went into making him over as safe army lad who did cheeky bants with the Queen. The press despise him right now but that suits the narrative and fills a gap; no doubt he’ll get rehabilitated (especially when Charles goes and leaves a gap, the slimmed-down monarchy is now skeletal), and there’ll be yet another era, future scandals, highs and lows.

Can't be arsed to get angry about this. If anything, William should be sending flowers - the laser focus of the daily mail has been temporarily lifted from all the criticism he's had recently.
