Do not read or comment if you aren't interested!

Shamefully starting a new Kate related thread for the fellow people like me who are so far down the rabbit hole they need to talk it out with fellow tin foil hat wearers 🤙
I want to know.. what do you think?
Where is she?
The wild theories?
Will she make the Easter Day service?
What the hell is going on over at KP?

I think she's seriously ill and will be stepping back soon.

I've got popcorn and I've got alllllll night, let's dissect.

They actually don’t have a team of Nannies. They have one nanny who doesn’t live in . Perhaps they don’t want her doing all the parenting for months .

How many new hospitals or nurses could we have if we spent £86 million a year on the health service - anyone? That £2 pp could be an NHS top up fund.

Edited

In the last financial year the cost of the NHS was £155bn in England alone (it will be more this year but accounts will not have be finalised until year end).

So the sovereign grant would buy you just under 5 hours running time of the NHS (and only in England!). A drop in the ocean!

The K&Q and P&PssOW don't put their forward engagements in the Royal Diary - and haven't done so for ages so you can't infer lack of activity through that route.
Am sure the King is more than able to decide who is best placed to pick up any of his duties - there was some reference I read (possibly the Times but I couldn't be sure - it was about the time of the joint hospitalisation) that said the King was mindful of not asking PW to pick up activities as it may look like to the mad tik-tok'ers that a regency was in the offing.
Since his return to duties PoW has carried out 14 or so engagements including engagements like investitures that last a few hours before anyone chips in with 'an engagement can be a 10 min phone call'

How convenient they have stopped the future engagement entries.

We can see from the posted stats ti
that they have done virtually nothing for years and years.

myrtleWilson · 17/03/2024 20:53

@Severalwhippets they stopped the future engagement entries years ago for all the main Principals so nothing to see there - I'd imagine it was security related

Then I would fund children on free school meals to meals in the holidays and food bank financial aid giving the number of desperate families using them. I wonder how this is even happening in 2024 people living in palaces as young children are cold and starving.

I am a royalist but I think they need to be self funded at this point.

@Nono22972 I don’t fundamentally disagree but we don’t know exactly how sick she is, we don’t have any context or know the circumstances.

If gravely serious in that she was terminally ill, God forbid, & fortunately this feels unlikely, this would mean additional time off understandable.

What about all the taxes they dont pay? Or all the money in offshore accounts? How many hours of NHS time would that pay for? How about Williams constant helicopter use and his 4 fully staffed homes? Or the many renovations on Anmer Hall? If they reduced their own enormous carbon footprint, how much quicker eoukd we get to net zero?

My original theory on this was Kate went in for an op that required 6 weeks or so recovery time, but thought as the Easter holidays were just a few weeks later she'd take time off until then, William decided he'd use it as an excuse to sack off work too, then Charles got diagnosed with cancer and he was forced to end his extended ' looking after the kids'. I wouldn't be surprised if Camilla was pissed off.

Paul Burrell is saying Catherine is recovering in Norfolk, in which case she’s away from the children (?)

Since when is Paul Burrell considered a credible source? I think he hasn't talk to neither Harry or William in maybe 20 years

Why did Ibthink he lived in Australia? In any case, how woukd he know?

User14March · 17/03/2024 21:27

@Nono22972 he said he knew many in Royal household & also that, as you say, he wasn’t in touch with PW & hadn’t spoken to him.

He was very certain on Norfolk.

This sounds like a good theory. I always thought Harry had a lot of respect for Kate, he gave her his mother’s ring after all, I thought that was a massive show of how he felt about her marrying his brother. I have always felt Harry was the more natural down to earth one and think he would make a far better King, which his brother probably knows and is jealous of his popularity.

Harry and Meghan were obviously scape goats and used to cover something up, Wills affairs, Kates health, Andy’s peado lifestyle…. Could be any number of things.

I agree. Think Harry has been a prize pratt but he was clearly more angry about his brother than being chucked in a dog bowl!!

JaneAustensHeroine · 17/03/2024 22:02

There’s a good article in The Independent today which says:

‘Apathy on both sides of the palace wall…is the real scourge of modern monarchy.’

Basically it suggests that the younger Royals (eg W&K) are as apathetic about their duties and work as the public is about them.

It’s clear W only wants to focus on a couple of projects that interest him. K was given Early Years to do but I’m not hearing anything that makes me think she’s going to take that bull by the horns. They have used the excuse of having a young family as though they are juggling full-time jobs with housework and childcare on a minimum wage. The whole thing is ludicrous.

I think their version of a slimmed-down monarchy is actually fewer of them doing less rather than fewer of them rising to the challenge.

Time off to look after Kate my arse. They’re like those colleagues who turn up when there is cake and piss off when there is work to do.

Quizine · 17/03/2024 22:08

Apparently W overruled K on George's secondary education. He wanted Eton for him and he got it, Kate didn't get her preferred choice. If anyone can contradict me that's great.

So.... Kate has taken the kids to Norfolk where she is homeschooling them, well someone is, and this is so W cannot send G to Eton. Or something, something, kinda like that. The doors are locked, granny Middleton is guarding the gates, and that my friends is why the kids have not been seen or heard. Their internet access is restricted to educational stuff, and TV is monitored.

The wars of the schooling decisions could be behind all this.

JANetChick · 17/03/2024 22:15

Wouldn’t she want to be near the kids school and her parents and sister though? Assuming she’s still ill and not skiving. William called her the Duchess Doolittle but he’s a fine one to talk .

Not sure any insiders would trust Paul Burrell not to blab. I don’t think he knows anything. I think he was a true insider in the 1990s and traded on it for some time, but not now.

MyLovelyPurse · 17/03/2024 22:19

To be fair, the years on that chart correspond with the years KM was pregnant or post partum.

Calliopespa · 17/03/2024 22:27

Severalwhippets · 17/03/2024 20:49

That is absolutely shocking.
Princess Anne is the stand out. Kate and William stand out as being very low.

And Charles tbf… He’s a clear first place.

JaneAustensHeroine · 17/03/2024 22:40

I reckon Norfolk is a distinct possibility. Sea air to recuperate. Children to join her on Friday when their school breaks up. Privacy easier to maintain than at Windsor perhaps. I think KP want her out of sight for now ready to pop up very briefly at Easter (“we told you so”) followed by a further break for further recuperation.

Heaven knows why William needs more time off. It beggars belief. They really are very, very weak.

Just as well H&M didn’t stay because I think they would have stolen the limelight. In fact, I’m of the opinion that they were hounded out because they were stealing the limelight and that simply wasn’t protocol.

My thoughts exactly

I do think William will do exactly what William wants to do which is rather worrying for the future

martellotower · 18/03/2024 06:41

I have zero knowledge of the "soft power" that the RF has or the "work" that they do , could someone explain a bit.
To me it seems just ceremonial and all about being a figurehead and for show.
Does it matter if William and or Kate decide they are going to do the minimum.
Could it be the beginning of winding down the importance of the monarchy ? So that we are left with something less elevated and more akin to other countries?

Hepzibar · 18/03/2024 06:50

Reports of PoW be seen in Windsor looking 'happy and relaxed' with PW.
First steps to a return to 'normal' perhaps.
Or to appease the baying mob

I hope do. But it looks like Williams ' winding down' will involve him not doing much but still taking all the money. No winding down of houses or staff or hangers on.
