Do not read or comment if you aren't interested!

Shamefully starting a new Kate related thread for the fellow people like me who are so far down the rabbit hole they need to talk it out with fellow tin foil hat wearers 🤙
I want to know.. what do you think?
Where is she?
The wild theories?
Will she make the Easter Day service?
What the hell is going on over at KP?

I think she's seriously ill and will be stepping back soon.

I've got popcorn and I've got alllllll night, let's dissect.

This sounds like a good theory. I always thought Harry had a lot of respect for Kate, he gave her his mother’s ring after all, I thought that was a massive show of how he felt about her marrying his brother. I have always felt Harry was the more natural down to earth one and think he would make a far better King, which his brother probably knows and is jealous of his popularity.

Harry and Meghan were obviously scape goats and used to cover something up, Wills affairs, Kates health, Andy’s peado lifestyle…. Could be any number of things.

Harry to be fair has been saying exactly this for years..

How does calling her Catherine support her as an ill woman? If somebody wishes her well but calls her Kate, is their support in some way inferior to yours?

I don’t think that was the meaning - at least it’s not the way I took it.

Well you can see my confusion - how does calling her Catherine show that somebody supports her as an ill woman?

But this is also about image? And she really can’t win, because this at-first-glance “supportive” message is weirdly
invested in a stranger’s body and appearance: age-appropriate hair? Let her waist thicken? Her image is a distraction as she gets older? Of course she’s under pressure with this sort of nonsense, none of which should actually impact her role/skills/ability/focus. Maybe she quite likes her hair and waistline 🤷‍♀️

You are absolutely right that it shouldn’t impact. But sadly I think it has because I think that lies at the heart of the doctored photo and the wanting not to appear in public view - which is what has essentially kick-started this storm in a teacup. Everyone feels that way a bit when they feel rubbish, but I think it is heightened for her because people scrutinise her so closely, and I have sympathy for that.

People present an image - and it’s pointless pretending otherwise. Boris dressed in a suit because he wanted to be seen as PM. If he’d come out in a Borat style mankini he’d have projected an entirely different focus and we might have scrutinised other things more closely. I’m just saying Kate is a very competent and attractive lady who can take control of her image in a way that will put less emphasis on her weight, for instance, which everybody seems to feel entitled to comment on ( people on these threads even obsessing about eating disorders etc) . That cannot make her job easier for her.

I don't know why every one loves Anne, she had lots of affairs too!

Her husband cheated on her their entire marriage and even had a love child. After a betrayal like that, I would encourage anyone to either divorce or get a lover as well

A lot of people respect her for her work ethic. Some people should follow her lead

You're forgetting that Harry encouraged the idea that Kate is a racist and that she was cold and unwelcoming to Meghan, i.e. the lip gloss story. He also suggested that Williams marriage was one of convenience. Hardly the actions of someone who cares about his sister in law.

WisteriaLodge · 17/03/2024 15:51

I always thought Harry had a lot of respect for Kate,

Ha ha, you are joking right?

ChVrches · 17/03/2024 15:55

I seem to recall something about the Duke of Sussex feeling left out when his brother married? Did he think they were going to spend their whole lives together fighting over sausages? It is like he is Peter Pan and is stuck in that mode.

I thought he described her as the sister he never had & always wanted?

Perhaps he was lying/being polite?

It probably doesn't help that William also seems close to Kate's family.

It’s all kind of harsh. She’s done nothing a normal parent wouldn’t do, which is strive for the best for their dcs.

We may not all agree with every step, or what she saw to be advantageous, but that’s what makes us all lead different lives.

As I’ve said before, far worse are those born with every advantage who then throw it away - though even they probably have pressures and motivations none of us fully understand.

No one lives an objectively perfect life . Some people have that more publicly observed than others. And in the scheme of it, Carole hasn’t done anything to be ashamed of.

I doubt Carole Middleton gives a shit what anyone says. I should imagine she has the hide of a rhino tbh. She thinks she's entitled to bark orders at employees in her local Waitrose, I hear.

User14March · 17/03/2024 16:41

@MyopicBunny am sure that’s an urban myth. I have heard this levelled at so many women in the public eye & it’s ALWAYS Waitrose ;)

Well I hope her daughter has …

MyopicBunny · 17/03/2024 16:42

It's not an urban myth where I live. That's how a lot of people behave in Waitrose. Famous or otherwise...🙃

naturesform · 17/03/2024 16:54

Carole Middleton is supposed to be a horrid boss.

Although I expect the Catherine brigade will claim her employees made it all up...

Yep Anne I agree hits the right note. I like her a lot.

I do think one thing that seems to derail things is when Royalty try to go glam ( or the public push it that way with endless focus on what they wore, what their weight is) . Anne’s glam has always been of a more substantive variety: she’s the one who best carried off the regalia at the Coronation because actually she doesn’t need to show her waist etc to do her image. But a more celebrity style glam seems to end in trouble in that it generates a kind of underlying dismissiveness for all it’s cover appeal. TBH it’s the focus on Catherine’s outfits, weight etc that I think have caused this current drama. Anne would have felt able to come out just as she was. If the photos were unflattering it was as it was: one is feeling poorly.

I agree. The focus should be on what the Royal Family does and can do, not how they look. Anne hits the right note - always presentable, consistent and works hard. However you need to do that from the beginning. If you start by focusing attention on style over substance then you are setting yourself up for a downfall. We all have the ability to change the focus of people’s attention by what we do.

ChVrches · 17/03/2024 17:06

It's just all gossip isn't it @naturesform ? Every single boss that my BIL has had is horrible and my BIL is a Grade A Knob.

MyopicBunny · 17/03/2024 17:06

Well Kate is not responsible for how her mother behaves. What I find odd is that a woman as intelligent and privileged as Kate already was would want to wait around for a rich (and not particularly nice) man to propose to her. And then have so much scrutiny.

Perhaps she actually loves him and fame/money are not her objectives. It’s so depressing that everyone just assumes she is a social climber and that’s all there is to it.
