Spanish press reporting Kate was extremely ill

I don’t know how credible this is because I saw it on Twitter…

But apparently the media in Spain have reported that Catherine’s surgery was not actually planned, did not go smoothly and she was actually very sick/possibly in a coma for a period of time. And there has been a press blackout in the UK.

Could there be any truth in this? I’m struggling to see WHY something like that would be ‘hidden’ anyway 🤔

Clearly she’s not dead as her three children would be grieving , but they are not they are in school . I really don’t think that a 5 year old would be able to keep that quiet .

FFS, is there something in the country's water supply the last few weeks?
Unfortunately it seems to be a global phenomenon too.

I agree about the water supply!

However, I was just about to write a post to say that many of us who live overseas are shaking our heads in bafflement over all these threads and the conspiracy theories. The recent photo was mentioned for a couple of minutes part-way through news bulletins here and that's it. I have literally not heard one person discuss the situation. It's not a global phenomenon - and I live in a Commonwealth country.

It must be terrible being forced to read and reply on threads you’re just not interested in. Are you ok? Who’s controlling you? Shall we stage an intervention? Blink once for yes or twice for no. Hand hold.

Oh grow up. Take a look around at the weird conspiracies going on… are YOU ok? Because the tin foil brigade are truly out in force over this…

FWIW I was in Spain when Diana died and the local news was reporting she'd been shot, so on that basis I wouldn't hold much store in this. Tbh I take pretty much everything I read in the press with a hefty pinch of salt

When Diana first died the news reports coming out were garbled. The first editions of British newspapers all reported she had been in a car crash and had broken her arm. So you can also disbelieve all British newspapers as well.

I cannot express my relief. Mine’s been ripped vertically my whole life and I didn’t want to mention it.

wait - what - the crack's supposed to be vertical ?🤔

Ap42 · 13/03/2024 19:54

These threads are truly awful.
The poor woman has obviously been through a big surgery and needs time to recover.
I has a hysterectomy last year and ovaries removed. The physical recovery wasn't too bad, but going into surgical menopause was truly awful, it had a dreadful impact on my mental health. Imagine going through all of that with billions of people watching and whispering about you.

Salemforcuddles · 13/03/2024 19:56

@Jacopo See this is exactly why we need a bum repair thread

Meowandthen · 13/03/2024 19:58

FFS. What is wrong with you people? This is just nasty gossip and speculation. And none of your damn business. 🙄

I avoid the royal freaks boards but this is in trending. Give it a bloody rest.

SgtJuneAckland · 13/03/2024 20:05

@BenefitWaffle isn't that exactly what the second part of my post indicates? I'm not sure how else it could be interpreted

Tbh I take pretty much everything I read in the press with a hefty pinch of salt

As a disabled person I feel about cross about it all. There’s such a massive stigma around illness/disability that KP can’t even talk about it.

The rest of the world don’t get to take months off work and not tell their employer why. I honestly think whatever the issue, talking about it would make a real statement in terms of role modelling anti-stigma around disability and illness.

On the contrary. In this part of the world that is Italy, you have to go to the Dr from day 1 of your illness and get a certificate. A code is sent to HR giving the dates you are off, but you absolutely cannot tell HR why you are off or anyone else for that matter involved in your employment, it would break every privacy rule in the book. It's her business and no one else's.

Not forgetting this is a Kate thread, I wish her well and hope she feels better soon.

Peekaboobo · 13/03/2024 20:06

Thats not news though from the Spanish press. I mean, we already knew KM was extremely ill.

wait - what - the crack's supposed to be vertical ?🤔

Definitely.

Top to er, bottom.

BenefitWaffle · 13/03/2024 20:17

@SgtJuneAckland I am not sure I could go through life not believing anything I read in any media.

Calliopespa · 13/03/2024 20:18

Jacopo · 13/03/2024 19:52

I think the one with the horizontal crack is your face… at least that’s the end I’ve been using as mine 😶

Livelovebehappy · 13/03/2024 20:25

It’s really shocking that people have such a ghoulish fascination in this, and try masking it as ‘concern’. She’s a mum who’s trying to recover after an operation, and it’s so awful that the poor woman is being absolutely hounded. Can you imagine being unwell and in recovery and all this crap she’s also having to read about herself? What’s wrong with people?!

Garlicking · 13/03/2024 20:25

fairydust11 · 13/03/2024 12:53

Yes I heard this a few weeks ago and that the Spanish reporters source was Thomas Kingston, close confidant of Pippa…If you look on reddit there are tons of theories…

The main issue is KP seems to be making things worse with the edited & vague photos, it seems to be attracting people wanting to “save” Kate hence the car crash into Buckingham Palace on Saturday & the car crash into Windsor Castle yesterday…the police stated they were not terrorist offences, so quite a coincidence, the timing of them adds to all the oddities surrounding the royals at the moment.
KP would’ve been best to not release any photo in my opinion.

Was that before or after Thomas Kingston committed suicide on Feb 25th?

🤨

People seem to be missing the point of the current interest in this story.

I’m not personally interested in Kate. I’m a Republican and interested in the KP (mis)handling of the situation. I had no interest in the story at all before the weird photo.

BenefitWaffle · 13/03/2024 20:35

@Livelovebehappy few people paid much attention to this until the faked mothers day photo.

BenefitWaffle · 13/03/2024 20:36

@fairydust11 are you saying the two car crashes were by people wanting to rescue Kate? I have not seen anything about that.

MaturingCheeseball · 13/03/2024 20:37

Re: bum repair

Well, that’s the point, she wouldn’t let a single name slip, which gave me faith in the discretion of medical professionals.

However, she did describe the… ins and outs of procedures, basically that after enthusiastic activity one’s bowels could come out. And that post repair one would have to lie bottom up in bed. She said that her patients were very gracious and she liked working there, even if you were eyeballing bumholes all day!

GrandPoohba · 13/03/2024 20:39

I live in Spain and there nothing being reported here that's different from the UK, as far as I'm aware. There was some talk about her on the radio this morning - the hosts were speculating about what had happened, whether she's had plastic surgery etc etc but no actual reporting of facts.

ChVrches · 13/03/2024 20:42

enchantedsquirrelwood · 13/03/2024 15:27

A good friend of mine had a uterine repair and she was back at work within a fortnight

My mum has just had a pelvic floor repair and the recovery period for a young fit woman is 6 weeks and can be three months and beyond. You can probably do some work at a desk at home after two weeks.

I think Catherine had a prolapse too.

These kind of comments are insane. It doesn't matter if your Mum lived to 99 and had a hip replacement and jumped off the operating table. You don't know and even if you did know everyone is different.

We all deal with arseholes in one way or the other

Which again was totally bonkers. She altered a family photo to look better. Like thousands of people do all the time. Why do people care?
