You're forgetting that William is also his father's son. And his father has been in his life a lot longer than his mother. AND you're forgetting the damage he would have gone through during his parent's marriage with his mother's breakdowns and parentifying him. I've never forgotten Diana talking about little William pushing tissues under the door to her when she had locked herself away crying. Those types of experiences are awful for children. He likely has very mixed feelings about his mother. But regardless, she didn't raise him. His father did. His loyalty is there. He has long forgiven his father and accepted Camilla into his life.

The whole of London dontcha know. There’s just SO much going on down there that those outside the M25 aren’t allowed to know about. They pass around coded notes in jellied eels, apparently.

LOL, well here in well heeled(or is it ell eeled) zone 2 we get the staff to pass the coded notes. I was aware of the rumours and how frightful, I mean do Medlar even deliver outside zone 1? What will Kate do? Can anyone in Windsor actually do a bouncy blow dry and muted make up? Out of London is the home of instant coffee and one can’t get a crusty sourdough or OttoLenghi or a gardener or a clothes peg

No one knows what goes on in a marriage.
Their marriage could be fine or it could be really bad. Who knows.

I'm sure we've all been in the position of hearing a friend or relative or someone who lives round the corner, is getting divorced and being totally shocked thinking...they always seemed so happy

That doesn't mean to say I think that is what's happening with K&W. We just don't know

It's like when posters say they'd love to share a gin with Camilla as she seems a laugh. She could be boring or unpleasant or great fun. They feed the media with the image they want to portray.
We don't know

That also applies to M and H you know. You think you know though.

MadameBrigitte · 12/03/2024 20:47

Has anyone else heard that allegedly the nanny left at Christmas and the children haven't been at school?

I do find it hard to take your fawning obsequiousness and sycophancy seriously regard Kate & Will seriously @DistinguishedSocialCommentator . The slurping is on an industrial scale.

Really!
Think as you wish but I know why I respect this family and Charles and his wife

There was a time I could no stand Cammila because of the headlines I read. Then I saw her in action on tv a few times and felt, what a nice lady. She grew on me. I've not always been a fan of Charles and he can still put his foot in it. However, as far as rich/famous/classy people go, they are decent when compared to the others

Re Kate and William, always liked them. I'm not stupid and I know they have a private life but what they do during their public duties, that is second to none Re their private lives, I've said this many times, no marriage is a bed of roses 24/7, there are always ups and downs and any couple denying that is living in cloud coco land

Princess and her husband - both good and a bit of Anne's hubby on tv as I did not know who the chap was, he is a credit to the RF

Edwards's wife is a credit to the RF

The does not make me what you posted but you believe what you want.

Why wouldn't the kids go to school?

Did the children eat the nanny? On toasted sourdough with an dollop of butter and cracked pink peppercorn

LadyMuckonpancakes · 12/03/2024 20:51

You’re forgetting the avocado.

Acccepting Cammila as you said, is good as she is a decent lady. People change and IMO, Cammila handled the media well because its not an act but real

When my mother died at a young age, my dad quickly remarried. I hated my step-mum. However, as time went on, I saw it was making dad happy and in the scheme of things she was ok. So I accepted the step-mum and came close to dad again and we all benefitted from it. Stuff like this happens but I'll never forget my real mother.

What we must never forget is that Kate and her family are human just like us, all beit with loads of money and prestige to their names.

I'm a fan of these two and their kids. I've been very honest and was sad to post that the delay of the original being handed over to the media by KP is doing them no favours

However, when I see total BS like what you have said, it saddens me how the media and the internet make up stuff just because like any ordinary couple, almost every couple have their days off

William would never let his wife down because of what happened to his mother and that is a fact. Kate would not let William down as she comes across as a very decent lady.

You are being utterly ridiculous. We saw the latest photo of them in the car.

Did that show a devoted husband?

Did that show William comforting his beleaguered wife? Even in full public view with an organised pap shot he choose not to! Instead he looked down at his phone. He couldn’t have looked any less interested if he tried.

Did Kate look like a doted and much loved wife? Enjoying the support of her husband in her first trip out in months? No, she had her face and body turned away from William.

She has taken off her wedding ring.

They don’t even live together.

What part of that is difficult to understand?

I know! Pink peppercorn with sourdough. Savages

RosieMilkJug · 12/03/2024 20:54

Roussette · 12/03/2024 20:40

Huh?

Are you saying but anyone who has had divorced parents would not be getting divorced because that's really not true

I agree with you up to a point: my parents divorced and I divorced my ex husband. But IIRC William said before the marriage that one of the reasons he took so long to propose was that divorce for him was out of the question. And no, I don’t have any links sadly. I think it might have been the engagement interview.

TheFairyCaravan · 12/03/2024 20:54

This fawning over a group of humans is ridiculous. You absolutely do not know that William would never cheat on Catherine. It’s possible. He’s a flawed human, just like the rest of us. Just because he’s a Prince doesn’t mean he’s not above criticism and won’t ever do anything wrong.

I think the way they’ve handled this photo lark has been horrendous. Apparently he took the photo, yet he threw Kate under the bus and let her take the flak. That’s really loving and supportive, that.

Quizine · 12/03/2024 20:57

Catherine Tate and the gooseberry and cinnamon yogurt springs to mind here.

Total BS, with respect

That picture that I posted is a nano-second event and you've wrongly assumed all of that from that single picture?

Re the wedding ring - its not a small item - mine is close to the size of ring Kate has and I take mine off as it catches clothing etc. Dont forget, hubby took the pic and if they were hiding something she would have worn it and that's a fact. Therefore, your theory is rubbish

My point is that

"William would never let his wife down because of what happened to his mother and that is a fact."

...is nonsense. He is not any less likely to cheat because of what happened to his mother. Or be more loyal. Or be less selfish. Why is he more likely to stay good and faithful in an unhappy marriage when he has seen his own father get everything he wanted by doing what he wanted?

Newsenmum · 12/03/2024 20:58

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 12/03/2024 20:38

I know that becuse I've met people in life via work, friends and some family where one half has been cheated on or their mother or father was a victim of a cheat. I've yet to met anyone who has experience anything like that to cheat/etc

As I've said many times, a marriage is hard work at times once the honeymoon period is over. I've yet to meet a couple where they have not had their fallout.

Importantly, when people are ill, this adds an additional burden to most couples and I have seen this first hand via close to 30 years in social services via various roles I was in.

Being ill very ill, having a major op is worrying and IMO more worrying if the person is younger. Kate/Willian have three young kids. By all accounts Kate had a major op. Any op is a risk and a major one more so. For an active person like Kate, to put life on hold must be even more distressing than someone like me that does not travel a lot and our children are grown up.

When one half is ill, recovering etc, it also impacts their OH

Re the picture, honestly, I'd sack the whole PR team for this couple re the picture fiasco. Now that Kate has admitted to the small edit, I understand why people, many people and media have a doubt in their mind.

KP could easily address the doubt by handing over the original picture. This would be a slap in the face for most that have doubted the couple.

People slagging of Willliam forget that he too is suffering via worry re his wife as any decent hubby would,

Again, I wish HRH a speedy recovery and KP to do the right thing and put HRH Kate and family first rather than their own pride/etc

But that’s not true! I’ve definitely known it to be repeated, as sad as that is. William isn’t exactly a normal guy anyway. He has completely different pressures and he hasn’t known his mum for a very, very long time.

Quizine · 12/03/2024 20:59

FWIW I doubt Kate even wrote that piece about the photo editing. She wouldn't come out and say she didn't would she? KP lawyers wrote it AFAIS.
