You say that, but Meghan’s supporters regularly handwave away her actually lying to the court. And a very large number of people in the UK will have filtered/factuned/google best take’d a photo themselves. So I think it’s far more likely that most people will see this as no big deal, really….

My theory on all this is that it’s something fuelled by KC having cancer. it could be terminal although that doesn’t mean imminent. But obviously they weren’t expecting to have to take over so soon and someone has had a freak out .

Perhaps that’s because most people are indifferent to the royal family. But for those that do allow them to filter into their consciousness from time to time (not those that live vicariously through them), there is likely to be a justified cynicism towards them now. Given their unpopularity with those able to effect future change, this doesn’t bode well for the future of the RF? No matter how many excuses are made for the blatant deception.

Wasn't the King meant to have proposed marriage to Amanda Knatchbull, Mountbatten's granddaughter (with his enthusiastic support) and she turned him down because she feared being a Royal? What a sensible young woman she must have been to have resisted all that pressure.

Meghan is the wife of the Kings second son. Not the wife of the heir to the Throne. If you lose trust in dome celeb, who cares? Who trusted them anyway? Their marriage could be fine or it could be really bad. Who knows.

I'm sure we've all been in the position of hearing a friend or relative or someone who lives round the corner, is getting divorced and being totally shocked thinking...they always seemed so happy

I know that becuse I've met people in life via work, friends and some family where one half has been cheated on or their mother or father was a victim of a cheat. I've yet to met anyone who has experience anything like that to cheat/etc

As I've said many times, a marriage is hard work at times once the honeymoon period is over. I've yet to meet a couple where they have not had their fallout.

Importantly, when people are ill, this adds an additional burden to most couples and I have seen this first hand via close to 30 years in social services via various roles I was in.

Being ill very ill, having a major op is worrying and IMO more worrying if the person is younger. Kate/Willian have three young kids. By all accounts Kate had a major op. Any op is a risk and a major one more so. For an active person like Kate, to put life on hold must be even more distressing than someone like me that does not travel a lot and our children are grown up.

When one half is ill, recovering etc, it also impacts their OH

Re the picture, honestly, I'd sack the whole PR team for this couple re the picture fiasco. Now that Kate has admitted to the small edit, I understand why people, many people and media have a doubt in their mind.

KP could easily address the doubt by handing over the original picture. This would be a slap in the face for most that have doubted the couple.

Well I think one thing that will probably come out of this is that Kate is very unlikely ever to be releasing family shots again.
