Unfortunately that's not how human nature works. He's far more likely to follow his father's example than protect his wife from the treatment his mother got.

I'm finding the media's blowing up of these trivial photograph stories in order to pressure the royal family into releasing the full details of Kate's health condition really prurient and unpleasant; and I am not a monarchist. I bet the people slavering over every image are the very ones who were outside Buckingham Palace screaming abuse at the press in the aftermath of Princess Diana's death.

We really need to stop having a monarchy. It’s not even fair on the people who are living it.

He didn't even bother to protect her from this photograph storm by at least taking the blame, or getting his press team to say they did it.

I've long accepted that most people in this country really do love the royals, though. If they didn't and wanted rid they would stop pouring fuel on the fire.

Bet he said oh this photo things a nightmare. Let's get in the car, go for a little drive until someone takes our photo then we can go home. Whole thing is completely ridiculous. Total PR disaster. They need professionals and if they have then already listen to what they say.

Ask yourself why, if that car drove through the streets of London, there are no other photos of them in that car.

Firstly, the photo was taken in Windsor. Just for you, there was other coverage of the car - here’s William exiting it at Westminster Abbey. 😀

Secondly, if you’ve not seen them in person ravelling around London, they tend to drive quite quickly when in a car with outriders - so not much chance to see the car, clock the people inside and grab your phone and take a photo.

in the course of the journey Kate got out. So william (a) may have changed seats when she did or (b) slid over to the left hand side to exit the car when he realised what side they’d be approaching the Abbey from. (He’s been there often enough, he likely even knows what side of the car will be closest when they arrive!)

So what have you seen to make you think she has had a stroke?

I don't think that's what's happened at all. The announcement by the photo agencies last night was unprecedented, it was always going to get huge coverage. And I doubt AP or Reuters care that Kate has been recovering in private. They care that the photo wasn't an honest depiction. Of course, when large, international, reputable agencies like that accuse the royal family of deceit, then it's a big deal.

I should imagine they're furious, they put it out quickly from a trusted source, when really it's so obvious, they should have noticed before anyone published it.

The surgery was planned and fairly minor but Kate had been making dangerous noises about separation or divorce - so they've grabbed the opportunity with both hands and imposed a far longer than necessary 'recovery period' on her to get her out of public view completely whilst crisis management is ongoing.

That also explains the secrecy because they could hardly announce she's has xyz done if it's well known that people are usually fighting fit after 10 days with that procedure.

If anyone on here watches TV (I know some posters tend to frown on such frivolities) they will have seen that the new(ish) Google phone has a feature allowing the user to choose the best picture of each individual in a pic. Maybe that, or something similar is what happened to the photo released yesterday. Shame the photo agencies didn't rush to cut the ones released by the other pair where he stood behind her or their children looked like they had been added later
