The skirt has just ridden up where she's sitting down and so has the cardigan. You can easily see the gap.

In response to the conspiracy re skinny jeans …. When I came home after surgery, I put on a massively brave face in front of my children. And as soon as I knew they were packed off to school, I retreated into comfy clothes. I didn’t want them to worry. That picture feels like that to me. Maybe PoW would love to be in comfy pjs. But that’s not an option for her. Which is pretty damming on our society really.

Her right knee is bent creating a fold in the skirt at the hip covering the cardigan.

Isn't that just the buckle or zip bit dangling down? You can't see it fully on the other foot as it's hidden by the chair, but I can definitely see a zip/buckle thing on her other shoe.

I thought it was one of those annoying tassel things you get on some boots.

But the ‘missing part’ of her foot/shoe is the same pattern as the paving 😂

Plus, the buckle/zip on the boot that is on the floor is on the inside of the shoe, whereas on the other boot the “missing part” is on the outside of the shoe.

It looks like on one foot she’s wearing a flat boot, and on the other leg she’s wearing a boot with a high heel 😂

Her back foot is on an angle so the sole is pointing away from the camera, not down.

Clearly Louis is missing a tooth, those sleuths who scan the papers might look to see if it was missing when the last photos were taken at Sandringham at xmas.

The skirt " issue" is simply a pocket, you can clearly see the top stitching.

This place is full of idiots-people full of sound and fury signifying nothing.

It's the light hitting the underside of the heel on her boot. You can't see it on the other one because her foot is at a different angle and the chair is in the way. Stop being ridiculous.

I agree with many previous posters who have said that whoever released this photo was desperate for all this speculation and are probably having lots of laughs behind the scenes at all the theories.

They’d have to be pretty dumb to release it otherwise.

Maybe William couldn’t get a photo with them all staying still, smiling and looking at the camera at the same time and so used that google ‘best shot’ thing where it combines multiple photos together to give the ‘best’ version 🤣

I think someone has done some photoshop work to e.g. get rid of stray hairs in front of George's face from his mother's head, and maybe some lightening of people's faces/contrast - but how bad would they have to be at this to have obvious photoshop flaws in the picture that they KNOW will be analysed to death? Charlotte's skirt has pockets and is ruched up. Louis is doing typical small-boy covert fidgeting. No one has a missing bit of shoe!

This thread has made me laugh more than anything I’ve read on MN in years!

At the same time I find it disturbing that some people are so gratuitously snide and unpleasant to an extent that comes across as deranged.

If the sight of a mother and children’s happiness triggers such strong bitterness maybe it’s better to take a good, hard look at yourself.
