Are Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lili coming back home?

NotMyPage · 07/03/2024 18:59

It would be nice to have them back and getting along with the rest of the family, what do people think? They'd have to apologise and try to move forward in a positive way. With Charles being unwell and elderly, and the Wales kids too young to serve as working royals, the Sussex's may be needed. Trump may win the election, which could have a negative impact on them and Archie will start school soon, a great time to relocate home?? Apparently Meghan is looking for PR agencies to help her improve her image. Would the Uk welcome them?

How exactly is waity katy cruel?

It's stupid. Amd made up by the press as they love a rhyming nickname

But I don't think it's cruel. It's not insulting her personally.

Of course it's cruel! What is wrong with you?!

What?

How is saying that someone is in a long relationship, before getting married - cruel?

Lots of people are in long relationships before they get married.

Can you explain how it's cruel?

If you don't know why that's cruel, there is no hope for you.

You haven't explained why it's cruel.

Go on then.

I think it was more that the press had not much to report on, and they wanted a royal wedding, so they were trying to put pressure on will to propose..

Runnerinthenight · 09/03/2024 00:25

Kjones27 · 08/03/2024 23:30

That could be some of it.

But I do think there was a bit of a "how dare she come over and take our prince" attitude aswell

I don't think there was. There was a massive feeling of "she makes our Harry happy"!!

As people on here said - most of the posts on mumsnet at the time were negative about meghan

Would you like to be perceived as some kind of fool waiting for a proposal? Wise up!!

Kjones27 · 09/03/2024 00:27

Anyway Meghan seems to be happy in the US now. She is smiling today at some event. Looking well

It's not the worst insult in the world is it.

I had a boyfriend for five years. We didn't get married

If someone called me " waity Betty", I'd laugh at them .

Well I'm glad you witnessed some people be nice about her then.

I really think kate is so nice too.

It's a tough role. Kate aswell

Kjones27 · 09/03/2024 00:31

I don't think I could cope with kates role. She is the no.2 woman in the royal family now. And the women always seem to get judged kore harshly than the men. The pressure must be a lot.

Runnerinthenight · 09/03/2024 00:28

Well maybe that was on Mumsnet. That wasn't how it was elsewhere.

MN is a cross section of society and I think that showed very well what some people thought. Not all.
Some.

There were some shocking threads on here back in 2017 which Ive talked about further up this thread

BasiliskStare · 09/03/2024 01:59

I hope H&M settle down to a nice life in the US. I think the untruths they have spouted ( eg Welby having to correct them ) the reason their children didn't get Prince and Princess as soon as William's inter alia - well Harry & Meghan both - remind me of the Hillaire Belloc poem , "Matlilda told such awful lies it made one Gasp and stretch one's eyes " . I wish they had not done it because I think they could have been a great force for good - with an inecredibly comfortable life but they seem ( to me - other opinions are available ) to have squandered it for celebrity and fortune. I do hope they settle down somewhat and enjoy their life in a more low key way. Grasping at there royal connections does ( again to me ) seem like a good look

They divide opinion for sure. That is mine but hey , they don't care what I think and nor should they

"It would be nice to have them back"
Nice for whom?
Once trust has been lost, it takes many years for it to be regained.
They have taken pics from inside BP (not allowed), which have appeared on their Netflix doc.
They have repeated private medical information about William, private conversations of family members; (or worse, they could even be made up conversations); they have revealed private information about a celebrity (magic mushrooms in a famous actress' house).
Who would trust them that anything you say is not twisted and rveealed in their next book?
If I were a member of the RF, I would never want to be in the same room, or at the same event, as either PH or MM.
Also, why would PH come bac?. He said the click of cameras made him ill, etc.
And he felt this as soon as the plane started its descent...
Leaving the UK was 'Finding Freedom', etc, so why come back?

Janiie · 09/03/2024 07:04

'The essence of what she has said in her latest speech is great on the face of it. The trouble is she has been very unkind herself about her sister in law , and cruel to the Queen. She is not a kind person who thinks of others. It’s sheer hypocrisy. Do as I say, not as I do.'

This. The problem with the Sussexes is it has always been do as we say not as we do. Most of us see straight through them. They need to try and be authentic and less hypocrital. They moan about relentless attacks.. then attack the rf relentlessy.

It'd be funny if it wasn't all so very sad and pathetic.

Angrycat2768 · 09/03/2024 07:38

Runnerinthenight · 09/03/2024 00:22

If you don't know why that's cruel, there is no hope for you.

She could always have brought up Williams friends/protection officers calling her ' the mattress' instead. A bit rich of the press to say Meghan was cruel with that nickname when it was the press themselves who made the nickname up.

Gottseidank · 09/03/2024 07:59

Meghan is a bit like a contestant on one of those game shows like I’m a Celebrity get me out of here or Celeb Big Brother. She’s someone who has been given a chance at fame but has been voted off by the public. Yet she simply refuses to leave.

Meghan’s behaviour has alienated her from many: objectively, she isn’t a popular figure. She often comes across as false, pretentious and unlikeable and her behaviour makes people uncomfortable.

Rather than acknowledging this phenomenon and retreating for a few years, taking a back seat, Meghan and Harry keep positioning themselves front and centre - even purchasing opportunities such as this one to give themselves yet more opportunities to tell/sell their story. This is because they can’t seem to imagine a world where the fact they are disliked isn’t at least partly their own fault. It has to be some sort of conspiracy, the media, leaks from the RF, racism, social media etc

And so Meghan uses the forum to talk about herself some more, and to tell the public, yet again, how badly she has been treated and victimised (whilst quietly humble-bragging about her good fortune, and showcasing her expensive wardrobe). Perhaps she secretly thinks her detractors are just jealous and wants to wind them up.

Many people won’t hear talk about her being trolled during her pregnancy and feel empathy - perhaps because they will remember her appearing on Oprah when pregnant and launching indefensible broadsides at the royals. Or they will remember her announcing her own pregnancy on Stillbirth awareness day or accusing Kate of having “baby brain” shortly after Louis was born.

Katie Couric must surely have been trolling her when she encouraged Meghan to talk (yet again!) about her school project letter to Proctor & Gamble. The predictability of Meghan’s spiel and her lack of depth (the word salad) only exacerbates the public’s irritation.

The reality that escapes Meghan (and her supporters) is that for the most part the detractors aren’t jealous. They don’t hate her. They aren’t racists. They simply find her (and Harry) obnoxious and irritating.

This is why Meghan and Harry are losing contracts - and the reason they need to spend vast sums on PR. It’s a losing game though because the public has already voted.

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 09/03/2024 08:11

I agnostic about her until she made that fucking insensitive comment about ‘Archie made us parents but Lilli made us a family’. As someone who has secondary infertility and would live a second baby I found it tone deaf, cruel and self centred. It just sums up to me that other people are seemingly unimportant as long as Meghan is getting her own way- something echoed by that childhood friend she dumped after the wedding and her own family.

I can see how one or two people in her life could have been toxic and that she would need to cut them out. But when it is almost everyone seems ever been associated with then that suggests that she is the toxic one.

My guess is the Sussex Squaddies are just a narcissistic as she is and that why they go out to bat her her so hard. They love to witness how successfully she emotionally drags other people.

That's ridiculous. You're saying because she is unpopular, she should simply retreat and hide away.

What, never come out to do her shopping? Hide for years?

Lots of celebs in the UK are unpopular.

I think tha kate/ baby brain thing is a bit silly

Kate said she couldn't remember something

Meghan said "oh that's baby brain, that's your hormones"

Kate said "I'm owed an apology you don't know me well enough to talk about my hormones."

Lots of people talk about "baby brain" nd forgetting stuff.

You're saying how horrible meghan is.

And that she should hide away forever?

What about Camilla? Camilla has done things far worse than meghan.

As far as we know, meghan has never had sex with a married man. Camilla has.

Lots of celebs in the UK are unpopular.

How silly, I never said she should hide away.

I suggested that, in her situation, it was ill-advised to actively seek out and even pay for public/media attention. Harry and Meghan are indisputably divisive figures and if they continue to pursue the spotlight, much of the feedback they get will likely be negative. Rather than regrouping and trying to understand why this is, they (and their supporters) dismiss criticism as “hatred.” It’s a pointless circle.
