Are Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lili coming back home?

It would be nice to have them back and getting along with the rest of the family, what do people think? They'd have to apologise and try to move forward in a positive way. With Charles being unwell and elderly, and the Wales kids too young to serve as working royals, the Sussex's may be needed. Trump may win the election, which could have a negative impact on them and Archie will start school soon, a great time to relocate home?? Apparently Meghan is looking for PR agencies to help her improve her image. Would the Uk welcome them?

Lol

Waity Katie.

Is barely an insult. I mean come on. It's the tiniest insult ever.

Exactly what Meghan said on Oprah. Zero empathy or compassion. Also very much not the reality.

I remember thar meghans mum said that photographers used to take photos of skid Row in LA, and say that is where meghans mother lived.

That is just awful

Stereotypes exist for a reason @aliceolive!

I have two close American friends.

They told me that in America, they are taught from a very young age to be the best, to believe in themselves, that they were amazing.

I go to a book group every week with mixed nationalities. The Americans in the group always talk first and longest.

Do you also have a black friend? 🤣🤣🤣

'The UK press have been nasty to a lot of female brides. Except kate. She has never been targeted really.'

Diana, Fergie (the Duchess of Pork), Camilla was ridiculed and sneered at for years and years, Kate was mocked and her entire family too. It is wrong but they all endured it.

It wasn't one headline. Are you serious.

I remember headlines going on for about a year.

Again, if there were so many examples of these racist headlines, you should have no trouble naming a few?

Just saying something doesn’t make it true.

I mean Waity katie come on. I wouldn't care in the slightest if someone called me
waity Katie. Would you?

That's not what meghan said on Oprah actually.

She said something like "I empathise with kate being called that , but 'waity Katie' is not the same as racism".

And it's not!

Surely though Boris sister saying something doesn't mean that everyone thought that? Upthread someone asked me if I represent all of Canada - well of course I don't.

Kate has never been targeted? Where did the term Waity Katie come from then? She was also ruthlessly hounded by the paparazzi before marrying William. There were numerous horrible articles about her family, portraying them as determined social climbers. Kate and Pippa were apparently the 'Wisteria sisters'. There's been lots of negative stories about Carole as she is guilty of being a working class woman who has done well.

This!

Oh but it was only ever H and his wife who was targeted by thr tabloids. Riiiiight. They should've taken advice from Camilla on how to rise above it but oh no, H decided to mimic the awful tabloids himself with his tell all 'Spare'.

MaturingCheeseball · 08/03/2024 21:23

Anyway, they may be “living their best life” in Montecito, but several sources have picked up that Meghan has hired a PR to improve her standing in Britain. Why would she be interested in lil’ ol’ us? It smells distinctly like the plan is to be as royal adjacent as possible. Meghan and Harry need to get back on that balcony and if Charles/William are reluctant then the next move is to persuade the British public to forget the spectacle for the masses wedding/Oprah/Spare and cheer their triumphant return.

But saying that in a very popular British newspaper that is widely read, is ok?

I really think not

Given a judge is reviewing Harry's immigration file I think its quite likely they are coming back.

Ugh. It's KC isn't it, H knows he's soft not like Granny who did not suffer fools at all.

Just saying something doesn’t make it true.

Here's one

"Now that's upwardly mobile!, how meghan markles ancestors went from cotton slaves to royalty"

From slaves to royalty, Meghan Markle's upwardly mobile family

Mattie Turnipseed, Meghan’s great-great-great-grandmother, grew up in or around Jonesboro, Georgia, after the American Civil War of 1861-65, which had laid waste to the area.

I disagree.

I think mixed race is definitely part of the issue.

Are any of the other UK royal family married to anyone mixed race? No they are not.

The "acceptable" bride for a British prince is

"British, demure, white".

Cmon we all know that race was part of the issue.

Meghans personality doesn't seem that bad to me.

Right she's super confident, not submissive. Which can be grating to us more reserved Europeans.

But anyone that I've met from the States has been like that. That is their culture. To be big and confident

Lady Davina Windsor (Duke of Gloucestor's daughter) was married to a Maori chap, Gary Lewis, though they are now divorced. Their children (Senna Kowhai and Tane Mahuta) attend RF events.

I just learned that Gary Lewis' uncle is Witi Ihimaera (he's a poet and author, wrote Whale Rider), which is interesting!

Exactly the same sentiment - the idea that she gets to judge if another person’s experience was difficult or not, then mock them on Oprah.

If you do this to other women and then call yourself a feminist champion of women, expect some blowback.

No one thought it was ok. That’s why she got the boot.

Why would Trump winning an election have anything to do with them?

No problem.

Here is yet another racist article about meghan markle that appeared . In the article it says that

"meghan markles mother is an African - American woman from the wrong side of the tracks".

I know the thread sounds a bit journalisty but I'm curious. The royal family is now very slimmed down and two senior royals are unwell and a third, camilla very elderly and in need of rest. I like the royal family for lots of reasons and I am appalled at the public attacks against the Walses from H&M. But, they are family, their children are royal and they are somewhere in line to the throne. IF they could have worked though their issues it would have been nice to have a new generation of royals including the Walses and Sussexes. I do agree though the M&H can't be trusted not to spill the beans as they already have. There is no trust. It's a big shame.

Edited

Camilla, very elderly!? No she isn't fgs, only in her 70's

She is elderly. She is late 70s not early 70s. Of course she is elderly.

Do you think some one who is nearly 80 is not elderly?

My mum is the exact same age as Camilla, and my mum walks with a walker, and she can't do a lot of things .
