Are Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lili coming back home?

It would be nice to have them back and getting along with the rest of the family, what do people think? They'd have to apologise and try to move forward in a positive way. With Charles being unwell and elderly, and the Wales kids too young to serve as working royals, the Sussex's may be needed. Trump may win the election, which could have a negative impact on them and Archie will start school soon, a great time to relocate home?? Apparently Meghan is looking for PR agencies to help her improve her image. Would the Uk welcome them?

I don’t see the immigration as a Harry privacy but more of a systematic problem. I don’t think anyone should have the authority to see private documents but there should be a mechanism for reporting a possible breach and trust those to preform due diligence. If Trump or in the UK Boris had potentially lied under oath then I’d want a system that is trustworthy to investigate. Not that I think either country has trustworthy systems.

We have a system in US for dealing with presidential misconduct - Congress - but unfortunately it’s so politicized it doesn’t seem to work.

It would be a bit like making one of us a moderator of the the RFF. I don’t think anyone would be very comfortable with that. 🤣🤣🤣

@Vespanest Judges must surely already be able to review immigrations docs though or they couldn’t rule on immigration cases/appeals.

I’ve been through the immigration system and it’s a nightmare anyway.

That would probably be a case with the person in question is a defendant/claimant and not in this case a third party who what to draw attention to a breach.

I really don't agree with your post to me @Runnerinthenight and my only reaction back to you is "come off it"!!

BruFord · 08/03/2024 16:47

@Vespanest I agree that this case is incredibly political and unpleasant, I’m just saying that a judge probably can order a person’s immigration application to be turned over to them for review. I don’t know this for sure, but I suspect that it’s not something new in law, iyswim. Tbh, it’s probably better to get it done now, have the judge rule that everything’s in order, and shut up the troublemakers.

And I really don't agree with yours either. At least what I said is logical.

I don't think they're saints. Far from it actually

To you maybe?

I am sure we can agree to disagree

To most people I think - but let's agree to disagree.

Oh so true

Why not talk about the RF we do have?

Some people just need to move on. They were quiet for months and there was thread after thread speculating where they were, what they were doing ..all peppered with the usual slurs and insulting names for them of course

They arent talked about because there's nothing much to say about them. They just quietly go about doing their duty as working royals without complaining.

Whatever happens, he’s hardly the first famous immigrant with a history of drug use who’s got a visa- can you imagine what Keith Richards’ wrote on his paperwork? Probably “I think I’ve taken everything (but I can’t really remember).” 🤣

That Guardian article says it was a 'headache' though travel-wise to the US for Nigella Lawson, Amy Winehouse and Kate Moss.

BruFord · 08/03/2024 17:44

@AutumnCrow I know, but Keith lives in Connecticut so he’s managed it somehow. Ozzy wasn’t known for his clean living either!

Does Keith Richards live in the US? (I have no clue).

Times have changed so much. They used to view DUI as a minor infraction here instead of a very serious offense. It’s much harder to get out of anything based on who you are or who you know. (Unless your Dad is president…)

Was just chatting about this with a friend yesterday re: how US was in the 1980s and prior.

In this case it’s very much about The Heritage foundation going after Harry. Much like MN moderation it’s a deal where it would never have come to DHS attention had THF not reported it.

BruFord · 08/03/2024 17:52

@AliceOlive Only part of the year, I imagine, I’m sure he’s got multiple homes😂

I’m just saying that whatever happens, there’s precedents for celebrities with drug habits.

Samcro · 08/03/2024 17:54

Keith Richards also has a home in the witterings (Sussex)

Yeah but “someone else got away with it” is not a defense in US courts.

Only if a similar case was previously brought and ruled upon favorably in US court would that be a viable defense.

AutumnCrow · 08/03/2024 18:01

Maybe there's unconscious bias against women.

Gottseidank · 08/03/2024 18:03

AliceOlive · 08/03/2024 16:13

Absolutely. It must be a difficult adjustment.

I lost my airline status and haven’t gotten over it. 🤣

Haha I took a rather long & unnecessary trip to retain mine, absolute madness

Oh I’d say they are pretty conscious of their biases over here. Proud of them.

I don’t doubt that Harry would like to come and go to the UK on a more frequent basis, and to be able to have a royal “base”. I don’t think Meghan would fancy it.

If any olive branches were exchanged, then I can’t imagine what H&M’s inclusion in the royal fold would look like. Apparently Harry offered to attend, with Meghan, the BAFTAs. Yeah right. So they pick the glam events and still get to thumb their noses at community centre openings in Corby. No, can’t see it working.

If that’s true about the BAFTA’s… well…!

Pushtart · 08/03/2024 18:11

acknowledgement of past drug use does not necessarily bar people from entering or staying in the country.

What a complete waste of the courts time.

MaturingCheeseball · 08/03/2024 18:16

I suppose the “defence” has been elbowed in early, that Spare was not necessarily fact (??!!??) - but that’s been discussed a lot on here.

I wonder who would have Harry? He is a UK citizen, not to mention Prince, but he couldn’t skulk about a la Andrew for all time. And he does have a family in California. Canada? I don’t think they’d fancy picking up his security bill.

Perhaps he plans to raise an army, march (merch) upon Windsor and seize the Crown whilst the King et al are weak (see many incidents in history…..).

Roussette · 08/03/2024 18:18

Gosh, there's a lot of vivid imaginations on here!

Pushtart · 08/03/2024 18:25

The reason that words in Spare were dismissed like that is because you have to make the admission under oath- like the nigella situation. There would be no reason for him to lie on his application though, as above, it would be unlikely to be refused as they can and do make allowances, it does not rule you out of living or visiting the US.
