Photography hobbyists and aficionados unite.

Welcome to the thread where you can display and discuss some of the most iconic photos captured by some of the most talented photographers.

These aren't your average Instagram photos. Oh no. These are the ones that live in your head rent free. The Marie Kondo of photos that spark joy. Where everything in the photo is perfection.

This thread is meant to be fun, light-hearted, and showcase the talents of those behind the lens.

Please do not derail, and do not use this thread to be snarky or have a dig about subjects you don't like, or to other posters. If you cannot keep in the spirit of the thread, then please don't participate or spoil it for others.

The little cardis...so sweet!

An advantage royal women have - they generally get handed bouquets, which can perfectly set off their outfits and really make for a beautiful photo. They are often so perfect that I wonder if they are in fact pre-co-ordinated! Here’s a photo where the bouquet really is the chef’s kiss.

Mixing it up
like these

Meghan and Harry’s kids both look very cute.

He has that lovely expressiveness, and warmth, just like the late Queen.

He really does! He seemed such a stiff, reserved character for so many years. He's really relaxed and become fully animated since marrying Camilla and becoming a grandpa.

Catherine's blue dress is lovely. Such a nice, natural shot.

Love this one of the late Queen with Charles and Anne.

It does look lovely against the outfit. Meghan always looks stunning though.

This one is very touching. Philip looks so very old and frail. It reminds me of my parents in their final years.

More of the late Queen. I’m no royalist, but I find myself missing that steady hand sometimes.

That was their final wedding anniversary, @LunaNorth . The card was handmade by George, Charlotte and Louis.

One of Meghan’s best looks (the green leather skirt). She is so pretty.

Of course, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and Princess Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiari

I'm having a little tear here for Soraya. I'm old enough to have recognised her but I haven't seen a photo of her for a long, long time.

That’s a really lovely one - and the colour

LadyNijo · 06/03/2024 22:51

Can I ask some of you seasoned royal watchers — what was the occasion of the photo with the late queen, queen mother and Princess Margaret all wearing similar royal blue drapey garments that look a bit like hairdresser gowns, but in satin and with elaborate jewellery?

It was for the Queen Mother's 80th birthday I think.

LunaNorth · 06/03/2024 22:57

A lovely, natural photo.

Such a shame how things turned out.

I love the clothes hair and that vintage technicolour photo tone

But why are they wearing matching royal blue satin hairdressing gowns???

BigWillyLittleTodger · 06/03/2024 23:05

I just love this fabulous hair shot, ‘like she just stepped out of a Salon’ for those of us old enough to remember!

Lovely thread.
Time for bed.
Did you notice that the late Queen's ATS uniform jacket fastened left over right, the 'boys' way'? I know that because it was once pointed out to me.

LunaNorth · 06/03/2024 23:07

Kate is really beautiful, isn’t she?
