HMTLQ on her horse Burmese at trooping the colour. Riding side saddle of course. This was the horse she was riding when she was shot at. I always loved it as it was black which was my favourite colour for a horse. Sorry for crappy screen shot 😆

Lovely thread! Slightly biased perhaps as the photographer (Matt Porteous) is local to us and we have some common friends, but I love his work with Catherine and William and the children.

Trooping the Colour was never quite the same after Burmese retired. There was something about Her Majesty riding at the head of her troops....

This was said to have been one of HMTLQ's favourite photos - King George VI and a young Prince Charles. (Uncropped versions show that QEQM was also there, with a toddler Princess Anne.)

I love the photos Catherine takes of the children. This is one I remember vividly after we did the same with our kids during lockdown and they did a funny instagram vs reality reveal that I appreciated all too well 🤣

If I remember correctly The Queen is riding Tinkerbell, Princess Anne is riding her son Peter Pan and Zara is riding her daughter Tigerlily, both homebreds.
