Photography hobbyists and aficionados unite.

Welcome to the thread where you can display and discuss some of the most iconic photos captured by some of the most talented photographers.

These aren't your average Instagram photos. Oh no. These are the ones that live in your head rent free. The Marie Kondo of photos that spark joy. Where everything in the photo is perfection.

This thread is meant to be fun, light-hearted, and showcase the talents of those behind the lens.

Please do not derail, and do not use this thread to be snarky or have a dig about subjects you don't like, or to other posters. If you cannot keep in the spirit of the thread, then please don't participate or spoil it for others.

I have no photos to contribute but wanted to express my appreciation for this lovely thread.

Same here - I've really enjoyed it (and the membership of the Royal Hunk of the Month Club)

Princess Alice didn't have an easy life. She was congenitally deaf - though she could lip read, and knew several languages. Due to various circumstances, too long to go into here, she didn't have a settled home and lived in difficult circumstances for much of her life, and was separated from her children for years.

She was born at Windsor Castle and died at Buckingham Palace, though.

Thinking about Diana today and how she might have been able to help heal rifts if she were still here.

One of my favorite ones is this one of the Queen and Prince Louis. She's probably thinking "yup that's how I feel" 😊

Yes. I think she is amused.

ChVrches · 16/03/2024 11:25

Business as usual for the Queen!

That’s a lovely photo of Willem-Alexander, Max their three daughters, Fabulous FryingPan. The generation before, it was Beatrix, Claus and their three sons 😀

Willem-Alexander was the first Dutch male heir to be born in something like 150 years!

@pipsfromthefuture do you know why the Statue of Liberty is there? I notice he is holding something ceremonial that I noticed the other day on a photo.

Emotionalsupportviper · 16/03/2024 17:01

I was curious about the Statute of Liberty, too

ChVrches · 16/03/2024 17:05

This tickled my fancy as I am a huge cat lady and it looked like this King in Nigeria was holding a cat and wondering what to do with it. I now know he is holding one of his honors. I know now there is great hope for this young King. It's amazing what you can learn.

That takes me back to the programme about the uniforms and the making of them, including for the dogs, goats et cetera.

eggandonion · 17/03/2024 13:30

All the unworn green coats😐I hope they will be back on duty next year.
