Photography hobbyists and aficionados unite.

Welcome to the thread where you can display and discuss some of the most iconic photos captured by some of the most talented photographers.

These aren't your average Instagram photos. Oh no. These are the ones that live in your head rent free. The Marie Kondo of photos that spark joy. Where everything in the photo is perfection.

This thread is meant to be fun, light-hearted, and showcase the talents of those behind the lens.

Please do not derail, and do not use this thread to be snarky or have a dig about subjects you don't like, or to other posters. If you cannot keep in the spirit of the thread, then please don't participate or spoil it for others.

I've only caught up to 0921 today so I don't know if the answer is revealed later, but I thought Grace Kelly when I saw it.

It was Lady Helen Windsor ... added a photo of her a few posts after.

Both were/are classic beauties

Princess Grace of Monaco. Absolutely incredible.

Stunning

heldinadream · 08/03/2024 10:37

@Emotionalsupportviper she would, wouldn't she? AND she'd keep her feet on the ground. She's the best of'em, IMHO.
I love your name! 😂

TallerSally · 08/03/2024 10:52

This one was a classic, the happiness on both Meghan and Harry's faces shines through (despite the post-partum puffiness, in Meg's case!) 😂

In the spirit of wanting to keep this going, I'll kick it off today with the woman I think of as THE BOSS! What an amazing queen she would have been if only she'd been born first and/or the rulz were different. She'd have queened it up as good as her mum did I reckon! 😂

I agree, Anne would have been a fabulous Queen, but I have to say am very happy with Charles's King-ing, and Camilla a great sidekick. They obviously are a great pairing.

She looks stunning as usual. On such a lovely thread, there’s no need for such a shitty comment. The emoji doesn’t hide the nastiness. Harry looks thrilled, as does Meghan,

SheriffofRottingham · 08/03/2024 11:02

So many nice pictures of Charles and Camilla. They have that real destined type of love, together at the end against all odds, she softens his edges and he clearly adores her

ArcaneWireless · 08/03/2024 11:07

Absolutely @WorkingLateAgain 👍🏽

Mentioning the happiness shining from both of them was all that was necessary.

That's nasty.

I am not particularly a fan of the Royals but I don't think that it's on to talk about a woman's appearance the way that you have.

Ah I agree. Maybe it should be a job-share with no-one at the top. A team of monarchs?
Maybe that's the way it's going? Why put all that weighty expectation onto one person? A way to modernise the monarchy and help it move towards more egalitarian principles?

Chomping · 08/03/2024 11:35

GrouchyKiwi · 06/03/2024 18:40

And this one, which defined both the monarch and her sense of duty, as well as the horrible situation with the rules at the time.

It brings back the pain of watching so many funerals online at the time and being devastated for the few family members who were there and you couldn’t comfort them.

Cruel times.

Also remember the context of these specific days and weeks for The Queen and the burden she carried.

Can’t imagine taking to the stage to do a global character assassination on my family when my deeply loved 99 year old grandfather was on his death bed in hospital. PP had been in hospital for some weeks when the Oprah interview aired - The Queen and the rest of the family must have been on tenterhooks and then aftermath of that bombshell interview with its racist accusations hung on them all on his death a funeral a few weeks later. The Queen herself frail and in her 90’s had a lot of unnecessary additional worries in that photo.

myrtleWilson · 08/03/2024 11:41

Does no one else see the Queen in Highlands photo and think it's a perfect America's Next Top Model challenge? I can picture Tyra giving her feedback 😂

I absolutely love that Anne has become a style icon in her own right, with Fendi using her for inspiration this season, even if it is for the men! I think the pictures of her in her youth in the 70s are gorgeous, and I love her no nonsense fashion choices and refusal to conform to a "royal" uniform now too. And all that before fighting off a kidnapper, having a career as world class equestrian and being the hardest working of the lot of them. I'm hoping Charlotte finds inspiration in her great aunt for her path in life.

Queenie definitely isn't smizing in that photo. Grin

(I love it, I think it's atmospheric and gorgeous.)

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 08/03/2024 11:49

I love how more than most Anne wears her clothes which have become vintage over the course of time, it's fun to guess which year they're from. I think a lot of them are late 70s to mid-90s.

Not snarky. Or a dig. It’s added context. Same as others have added re COVID restrictions. This is further facts and observations which inform that photo.

PP went into hospital on 16 Feb. He was still there when the OW interview aired on 7 March. He came home to die a few weeks later whilst the media was alight with H&M ‘revelations’ - that a bomb under the monarchy and must have been a huge and confusing burden for the Queen

I’ve enjoyed the context and stories people have added to this thread. It’s so humanising and shows how we connect with something that’s so remote on a personal level. I’ve enjoyed your contributions 💐

He look dashing and Streisand is an icon. I think she’s married to James Brolin, also dashing.

I think I read somewhere he had a bit of a crush on her?
