Photography hobbyists and aficionados unite.

Welcome to the thread where you can display and discuss some of the most iconic photos captured by some of the most talented photographers.

These aren't your average Instagram photos. Oh no. These are the ones that live in your head rent free. The Marie Kondo of photos that spark joy. Where everything in the photo is perfection.

This thread is meant to be fun, light-hearted, and showcase the talents of those behind the lens.

Please do not derail, and do not use this thread to be snarky or have a dig about subjects you don't like, or to other posters. If you cannot keep in the spirit of the thread, then please don't participate or spoil it for others.

Queen Sirikit of Thailand, so beautiful in the 60s. Her fashions were amazing, she had Dior, Balenciaga and all of that, and incorporated traditional textiles into Couture outfits.

Gorgeous! Very Audrey Hepburn in that dress and hair.

Kate is really beautiful, isn’t she?

Very much so

pipsfromthefuture · 06/03/2024 23:44

Princess Eugenie on her wedding. I think this is a perfect shot.

This may be my last of the photos from the BRF, I want to mix it up and find more iconic photos of royals outside the UK lol. (Style and Beauty people where are you??!)

@ArcaneWireless She was/is clearly unwell and in pain, but even so, it looked like there was some mess-up of the planned arrangements.
I suspect she was supposed to sign the paper, bow to him, say something, he would say something back, then she would leave and he would sign the paper.
But instead she signed, bowed, then he sat down, so she spoke to the back of his head then left. Awkward and an upsetting way to go.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 06/03/2024 23:48

Agree @HoHoHoliday I really didn’t like that at all it felt incredibly disrespectful.

Yes, that really does have a Rembrandt quality to it. The lights and darks and the orange hat setting off the monochrome.

That’s interesting, it’s put me in mind of Caravaggio, with the moody shadows and atmospheric tone. He was brilliant at capturing powerful females, in all their dark duplicitous glory.

(Fangirl obvs 😊)

pipsfromthefuture · 06/03/2024 23:49

Oh that's unfortunate. Fred must have been so anxious that he accidentally missed some steps. Probably realized it later and kicked himself

Letting her walk out alone was poor, too. Someone should have been there to escort her/accompany her. An equerry or someone, if there wasn't a family member available.

@HoHoHoliday that seems really poor. From what I know, their queen was like our late queen and was really long on the throne so reading that makes me feel sad about how they treated her. I hope someone apologised to her

You're right. It's very solemn. Not quite funereal, but there's something darkly epic and biblical about it. Like a legend of sacrifice or something. Very beautiful.

I just love this fabulous hair shot, ‘like she just stepped out of a Salon’ for those of us old enough to remember!

Kate is extraordinarily beautiful but natural looking too.

It's the way George and the dog are looking at each other, simply gorgeous 😍

The way William is holding the dog struck me. He’s an animal lover?
