DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 04/03/2024 23:20

The press has published pics of HRH with her mum in mum Audi on a
"school run." HRH was seated in the front passenger seat.

Wishing HRS Kate a speedy recovery!!

You’re talking in the third person plural here about your own posts! 🤣

Serenster not of any significance. I didn't want to get into the thing again, that's all.

People only get heated because you keep insisting that the photo somehow proves that the princess looks uncomfortable and therefore is getting a divorce

And smilesy no. That is what you or some other poster tried to say that I'd said. In fact I said what I said above, which is quite different. Not that it matters a bit. It's certainly clear that if this photo was set up by KP - it doesn't seem to have been - then it does nothing to reassure the public that Kate is doing really well and all is good.

Rejoice for she has risen!

😬

It’s definitely her. I’m hazarding a guess based on experience that she’s on steroids during her recovery. She’s got classic ‘moon face’.

I thought so to re the steroids.

The Princess certainly seems to have been through a lot.

I believe TMZ have now apologised for their mistake and have admitted it was Pippa.

No they haven’t.

The palace didn't set up this pap shot (I wholeheartedly agree with this). But then it's KP's fault that the unauthorized pap shot does not show the public what they want to see.

Tell me, do you think that William and Harry as boys walking behind their mother's coffin at the behest of the baying public, demanding reassurance and a showing of grief from the RF, was a good thing? Because this is the slippery slope we are now on. It's abusive of the lives of real people because sections of the public somehow think they own them and are owed.

The public have been reassured. The statements have been made. The timeline for recovery has been clearly set out. The boundaries - healthy and normal ones - have been laid down. Anything else is in the heads of the people making the demands who can't process a straightforward statement without thinking the worst. It's not the RF's place to have to manage other people's comprehension difficulties, by giving them intrusive material to sate them.

DrJoanAllenby · 05/03/2024 10:12

It doesn't look anything like her.

It does, just her face is puffy.

Good lord. This is truly ridiculous now.

ToffeeTalk · 05/03/2024 10:24

@AlbertoDilemma the whole spectacle after Diana's death was abhorrent. I remember the madness well.

To be clear, my comment about the photo not being reassuring was in response to a poster or posters saying it was or might have been set up by KP: in other words, if it was (which seemed unlikely) then they didn't do a great job. That's a world away from saying KP should provide more info. I haven't at any time said that it should.

There seem to be quite a few struggles with comprehension on these threads or perhaps it's more the case that things are deliberately misunderstood.

Agree, it’s unbelievable.

Butchyrestingface · 05/03/2024 10:28

At first glance, I thought that was Pippa. Second glance, I think it's Kate but her nose looks different (probably the effect from the long distance lens).

ColleenDonaghy · 05/03/2024 10:28

@ToffeeTalk Stop trying to claim some moral high ground. There are your first two posts on the other thread after the photo was published yesterday. At that point in that thread the only discussion about the photo was about whether it was arranged or not.

First post:

It's a complete mess on the PR front. Neither Carole nor Kate look happy at all. That picture is not going to convince anyone that there's no divorce in the offing.

Second:

You can tell the general vibe isn't upbeat.

Divorce seems the most plausible of the options.

Carole genuinely seems like a decent mum.

Floppyelf · 05/03/2024 10:31

Thats pippa. Not kate

PablosTescoBar · 05/03/2024 10:34

With respect, OP: you need a hobby 🙄

ToffeeTalk · 05/03/2024 10:35

@ColleenDonaghy yes exactly as I said. My post was in response to precisely that. Not much more to drag out here really but you carry on with a non point if you wish :)

Terrible News: Convalescing Mother pursued by paparazzi while going about her private family activities.

Fixed your thread title, OP

Absolutely.

Leave her in peace. She needs to rest and recuperate after serious abdominal surgery. Invading her privacy is not "great news" and you should realise that. It is intrusive.

She's been at home for several weeks now and to the best of anyone's knowledge has not gone out. She maybe decided on a brief outing accompanying her mother to pick up the children from school because it would break up the cabin fever a little. Not remotely unreasonable of her and her privacy should still be respected.

meepthebeep · 05/03/2024 10:36

The Daily Mail has the headline ‘What a treat’ [to see Kate]. Seems in very poor taste given that she doesn’t seem to want to be seen at all.

(EDIT) it really says it all about the people clamouring for news/photos. It’s all about what they want and never about what she might want, having just had major surgery. Imagine someone calling it a ‘treat’ if you were papped during recovery like this when you were actively trying to avoid being seen/heard from.

Novella4 · 05/03/2024 10:39

@AlbertoDilemma
”Tell me, do you think that William and Harry as boys walking behind their mother's coffin at the behest of the baying public”

This supercilious narrative of ‘baying public’ needs to stop .
Your statement above is wrong . The public did not ‘bay’ for Harry and William to walk behind Diana’s coffin. Charles would be expected too and he and the rest of the ‘royals’ feared the public’s anger. The boys were human shields . It has been suggested that it was the PMs suggestion to help protect Charles etc but no matter - the public was not ‘baying ‘
The queen had been distant (also hadn’t lowered the flag as Diana was no longer ‘royal’) - that was the start of public anger and disgust

Blaming the public will not end well for this publicly funded family .

The messaging and PR has been abysmal re this recent episode .
This set up pap shot had just raised more questions too .

Oh. My. God. Do you really think you're proving something by comparing photos of the woman when she was (presumably) feeling well, coiffed and made up and in full smile-for-the-press-and-plebs mode to a photo taken when she's recovering from surgery, possibly taking medication and minding her own sweet business?

I look completely different in the face when I put on weight (through greed, not medication!) but I'm still me.

Primrosecottagelover · 05/03/2024 10:43

i think slot of people are hoping, deep down, for a divorce.

The idea that someone is born rich, thin, beautiful, lives a lovely life with happy children & a close knit family, has access to unlimited Chanel & designer clothing, heels & only had to have sex with one man their own age to afford it & is also given respect and praise for a job that involves travel and fluff…. That’s all too much for me some people to deal with.

The royals are born into everything and propped up by ordinary people that have tragedies. Sick relatives that don’t have access to good treatment, suffering for years on end of a sibling, housing instability in their youth. While I was struggling to find a house share and buy books in my twenties, Catherine Middleton was going to amazing parties and leisurely studying without financial concerns. The rest of her life followed like that.

I am a terrible there are some terrible people in the world that want to be reminded that life isn’t completely unfair and that tragedies befall even the top 1%

The royal family is such on the back of impoverished people in India, slavery, colonisation & the taxes paid by people that literally clean up s**t for a fraction of the wage & thanks. Also the taxes of women like me - born too chubby & plain to marry a prince.

yes I would be placated terrible people would enjoy it and are circling like sharks for the whole spoilt, snobby, elitist,
white privileged s**t show to implode.

Your words as quoted very helpfully by @ColleenDonaghy above don't end at "not reassuring". They go on to speculate, no, absolutely assert - with a great deal of "authority" based on one candid, grainy picture - that her divorce from William is imminent. And those sort of remarks get picked up and circulated and then what? Then KP have to decide whether they now need to provide information to quell a tangental rumor. Which is, in effect, providing more information.

You don't need to actually state "I want more information," in your words, you just need to set off a train of conjecture and rumour that leads to that being the very outcome - a greater outcome than the original boundary set would have given you had you just accepted it. You are no better than the baying mob after Diana's death, imo. Their wanting more led to rumors, conjecture a moving of boundaries against the will of the grieving, and a course of events we all saw played out.

Primrosecottagelover · 05/03/2024 10:45

Sorry tired and eating my dinner while writing that - many typos, only just realised. Too tired from being a single bitter Mum to edit it.

Some of the comments in this thread are nauseating. Do you really think any member of that over-privileged family of scroungers give a shiny shite about any of us peasants? 😂
