"Discussion" (the word MN used) and "debate" involve two different concepts. So it seems I understand it well, while you should reread what MNHQ has posted.

The fact that someone from MNHQ has posted that message, and posts a similar sentiment in each and every thread on the RF boards indicates that they don't agree that healthy or robust discussions occurs in these threads or was occurring in this thread. Especially those that don't insult other posters, which your comment seemed to.

If you disagree with that guidance, you should take it up with MNHQ.

Gosh, why do people find gifs triggering? It's a function MN put in, it's just an alternative way of expressing a sentiment when words don't work for the poster. They are like any post, just ignore them if you don't like them.
