"school run." HRH was seated in the front passenger seat.

Is it just me who thinks that Kate looks totally normal? She looks exactly what you'd expect under the circumstances that it's a grainy pap photo and she's just had surgery and might be taking some meds or dealing with lingering side effects. Her face looks slightly puffy but nowhere as wild as some people are trying to depict it.

For her official engagement photos there are professional photographers and loads of Photoshop before anything is released to the public. You can only compare this to her other car pap shots. She always looks her age on those (as to be expected) and the pictures have not been retouched.

You'd expect her to have put some weight on all over if she's had an operation which means she can't exercise like she used to. She had the muscle tone of someone who was working out or doing some sort of sport for at least an hour or so a day.

Also if you knew you had a couple of months out of the public eye and were recovering from an operation you'd probably throw all rules out of the window and eat what you fancy for a month and plan to work it all off the next month before you get back out there.

I do, I think it’s just a bad long range shot, the original is hugely pixelated, literally it’s spotty, and so they’ve removed the pixels, she’s make up free with her hair natural, and a puffy face which will go back to normal when the meds stop.

I don't think it looks like Kate at all, but then I'm not a Super Recogniser :) but one thing's puzzling me (it's probably been covered, sorry) but why do we think this is even SUPPOSED to be Kate?

I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question but to me it's the crux of it - did KP say anything on the matter? or was it just this foreign paparazzi paper said 'here's KM in a car' and everyone thought it definitely was her, and then decided it wasn't, so started speculating? (yes I know I've not been keeping up)

No idea whether that’s Kate or Pippa. And despite being anti-royal, I think it’s unpleasant that papps are trying to get pics of Kate. She’s going to feel like she can’t go outside with confidence. It was a long lens that caught her sunbathing that time, it’s a creepy practice.

Whether it's Kate or not, I can't imagine what the prospect of his wife being stalked by paparazzi every time she is out in a car is doing to William's mental state.

Not good on the photos but still good to see her being driven by her mum. No big fuss or chauffeur just her mum looking after her. I hope the PW is better soon.

She looks like she’s on steroids which means she’s either been quite ill or is very unwell still.

I’m regularly on them especially if having a RA flare or for my chronic bronchitis.

To me she looks very unwell but maybe I can spot the signs. When on steroids I often look in the mirror or photos and don’t recognise myself.

The crowd who can identify Kate’s level of unwellness from one grainy long-distance pap shot through a car windscreen remind me of TV detectives scrolling through hours of CCTV then yelling “there!” and somehow spotting the clue in what looks like a 12-week scan.
