That's amusing.

I've not posted very much compared to others who are equally insistent they are right and intolerant of other opinions.

At least you've the grace to say they are opinions (but dressed up as facts!)

Pots and kettles?

The whole thread is amusing.

However you are here saying other people are over invested etc.
Everyone, including you, are invested or they would have hidden the thread.
The people on this thread who are here as non royalists are laughing at the royals and are here for fun and the people defending the royals, including you, are trying to get people to stop by telling them they are over invested in the thread. Can you identify who the true over invested are?

CraftyTaupeOtter · 28/02/2024 22:19

Did someone actually suggest that? 😯

Unfortunately yes! It’s all over Reddit and X.

Bringtheweatherwithyou · 28/02/2024 22:25

Charles and Camilla are far far more popular than they could ever have hoped if you go back a few years

Well this is true. Their PR machine were miracle workers.
Next they will move to William and Kate.
The public are putty in their hands being manipulated into whatever direction and shape they want people in.

justasking111 · 28/02/2024 22:25

For king Charles my friend recommends pot during cancer treatment.

Right, so since I've been off dealing with my own little shits (of the mini human not poo variety), we need to add Brazilian butt lifts, sleb BB and pegging to the gerbil/asda delivery list?

Don’t forget Charlotte forgetting her PE kit.

I personally think George forgot to submit a photo for the Extreme Reading Challenge, so William raced back to take a photo of him balanced on his head, on a polo pony, with a sceptre between his teeth, reading Gangsta Granny.

FrancisSeaton · 28/02/2024 22:35

lol I love the self righteous busy bodies who shout at everyone for being over invested in a thread yet can't help but drop by and tell everyone how morally superior they are by not caring

Well, he does like plants.

HelenaCh9 · 28/02/2024 22:39

That Spanish site tweeting that his wife is deceased - I’m not easily shockable but uuuugh!

The pegging stuff is funny, as is that Banksy post, but saying that she is not alive is something else.

Well clearly not judging by this thread!!

The majority of people are laughing AT the royals and the posters suggesting things like William was busy minding the kids as Kate can’t ’run around’ after then as usual. It’s a very funny thread.

EchoChamber · 28/02/2024 22:50

Like a poster upthread, it really does feel like the wheels are coming off the RF since the Queen died. There isn’t a sense that anyone is really steering the ship. They’re all looking after their own agendas, their press offices are concentrating on the particular couple they are working for. There is no joined up writing and they don’t know where they are headed. William definitely dreads being King in my view . Charles is not enjoying it and he’s ageing rapidly . Camilla is doing her best but it can’t be fun for her either. Anne and Edward soldier on as usual and Andrew is smirking from behind the bars. When he gets let out for exercise, he lets everyone know about it. Apparently he needs to be propped up by his greedy ex wife too or he can’t function.
Beatrice seems to look utterly miserable at every occasion .

Bloody hell, reading this thread has convinced me the World has gone mad! What a crock of shite. You lot would have been sitting at the guillotine in times gone by with your knitting, scarves I believe they were making.

Yet another barmy thread to hide.

I've been dipping in and out of this thread, and the one before, for last couple of days.
It's v entertaining, but also, as this PP said, utterly batshit. 🫣😵‍💫🤣

I keep reading this as Prince William's Absess.

User7825525 · 28/02/2024 22:55

The strangest part of the entire PR fiasco is why they didn't just LET the public believe that William pulled out due to Kingston's death?? Instead of denying the link, they could have said nothing and people would jump to the conclusion that it had to be that. Then the entire speculation would dissipate.

Obviously some would have argued that his parents in law also attended but people deal with grief differently. Considering how difficult the past few months were for him, nobody would have begrudged William for staying home. But the fact they went out of their way to deny that was the reason is downright bizarre.

Honestly think whoever handles KP's PR should be sacked after all this. They've single handedly done more damage to the monarchy than anything Harry and Meghan have attempted with millions of dollars at their disposal. The events from the past few weeks are making many people genuinely question whether a monarchy is still relevant in this day and age. The core RF has essentially been reduced to a 70 year old man with cancer, his son with self-confessed MH issues stemming from childhood trauma and a chronically ill mother of 3 young children who hasn't been seen in public for 3 months. On a personal level, people will obviously wish for their recovery and health. But on a macro level, shouldn't a country be spearheaded by elected politicians and diplomats who have the training and stamina for the job? It works this way in numerous European republics and nobody has lamented about wanting the aristocracy back.

5YearsLeft · 28/02/2024 22:56

Also, I’m sure this has already been commented on but… it all just makes sense to me. She looked absolutely lovely and vibrant, at a good weight, not tired, etc, at the Trooping of the Colour in June. By September, of course, still beautiful, but looking less like herself. And by December at her last commitment, of course still beautiful, but it was obvious she’d lost weight she wasn’t trying to lose, and had large circles under her eyes (she looked the same at the church on Christmas Day) - it looked to me like she could easily have been in a lot of genuine pain and putting off a “big surgery” until after Christmas for the children. There are so many things that can happen to women - almost all the same things that can happen to men, PLUS reproductive issues of all sorts, endometriosis and serious complications from it, complications years after births or c-sections. Whatever it is, it seems it was quite serious, and I do hope when she returns, she will be pain-free.

And like many others, it may be that she wants privacy while she is vulnerable and will share about the situation in her own time when she is recovered, and possibly help raise awareness for whatever it was. Who knows? It’s a different royal family than even 10 years ago.

💯

Like the Queen said if your not visible people forget and then you become irrelevant.

Then people start to notice well if they aren't doing anything why do we need them? Why are we going to work paying taxes and some of that tax goes to them? Rather have some of my tax back even if it was only £1 or for it to go to where it's more needed.

Bit like a snr manager who is on a career break and they haven't back filled his role yet...but honestly it's make naff all difference and amongst the team people are whispering do we even need him if his absence shows he added no value at all ....

There appears to be a media blackout here as this would be considered a top story having her not been seen in such a long time. Even the Daily Mail is avoiding it.

Completely agree.

There's not many routine operations that require that long to recover.

Either she's had a very invasive op (in which case, surely she'd be "raising awareness" like old Charlie) or something else is going on

Yes, because if she's had a repair to an anal prolapse she's going to really want to discuss at length. If she has a colostomy bag, she's going to love the scrutiny over whether it shows.

It's likely she needs to come to terms with whatever she's had done, and potentially organise a new wardrobe, before she's on the world stage.

But Charles isn't raising awareness. I agree that no one should have to disclose their medical details, but Charles hasn't said what type of cancer he has.

If he'd come out and said he'd got bowel/bladder/kidney cancer or whatever, and raised the profile of how people can be aware of the symptoms etc then he would indeed be raising awareness. But it's all been very hush hush.

IMO, no! Firstly, Charles and William have an entire lifetime of training for the job. Secondly, voting gives you people like Boris. No thanks.

Nobody is baying for photos of the kids here that I can see... it was simply a comment that as they are obviously watched all the time and occasionally photographed at school, on the school run, so, has anyone seen them?

People seem to be getting a bit hysterical at what are pretty reasonable questions around William and Kate at the moment. They're going to be our next King and Queen, he is going to be our head of state, and there is some unusual and unexpected behaviour. All the family are scrutinised, this is no different.

William hasn't been seen with another member of the family since Christmas, not even visiting his very sick father, Kate hasn't been seen since, usually photographs or some statements would be released over a long absence, but we have nothing. They had a foreign trip plan announced Dec 22, so none of this absence is planned. There is also no sign of her parents, not visiting hospital or their homes. It is unusual, and it is concerning and its ok for people to say so.

I don’t believe any of the nutty conspiracy theories around Catherine. I think she’s convalescing and that’s it.
But considering all the times William has used, or rather had photos taken of himself with his children, where are the Wales children?
That makes me worry a bit - you’d think just because Catherine is indisposed, William and their children would carry on in her absence.

William had presumably been told that he was going to be the centre of this event. He is in terms of precedent the most important Royal when The King is not present , and the person commemorated was his Godfather.

instead he arrives at Windsor to be told that Camilla is going to be the ‘senior royal’ and presumably enter the chapel last while everyone else stands up if they are able, even worse, he may have to ‘escort her’. So he tells them where to stick it.

William needs to defend his position when the King is incapacitated. Good for him.

Wow, you seem to know a lot about the workings of William's mind!

Quite honestly, that is not the way the RF works, senior members don't just go off in a strop in that way.
