Is she dead?
For goodness sake. Of course she isn't dead. If she had died they would issue a statement about it, not try to cover it up. What do people think they are going to do? Hide her body somewhere and hope people forget she existed?
Comparing abdominal surgery times with other people and saying she's out of action for a very long time is unfair. Perhaps if she had a normal office job she might be able to manage to get back to work sooner but she doesn't. She has to do walkabouts and greet people and be in a good mood with a smile on her face and look impeccable and so on and so forth. I'm not saying she works harder than people who are in office jobs or similar (because she doesn't), but it's different and the expectations are different. And of course, they have a shit ton of money so it's not like a struggling family where there's the pressure to get back to work asap.
What I'm trying to say is that just because someone's Dad was back to work after 4 weeks after some kind of abdominal surgery, it doesn't mean that Kate is at death's door/already dead/in an induced coma just because she is having a longer time off.
And maybe she was really exhausted and her mental health was poor and she has needed to have this operation so it's been used as an opportunity to give her a bit more of a break.
I had cataract surgery a while back and it took me nearly a month to get back to a full working timetable due to the nature of my job and some difficulties with adjusting to the new lenses in my eyes and getting suitable glasses to enable me to do some parts of my work. So many people were really pissed off with me and telling me stories about how their 96 year old grandma was fine the next door. Well, great for grandma, but it my case it wasn't that easy. And perhaps the same applies to Kate. Nobody should be comparing recovery times for operations because everyone is different.
