When was the last time LCC came up with anything that was unknown and then substantiated?

She might be an aristo gossip, but she is simply a gossip rather than someone that has the inside ear of anyone in the current royal circle

For whatever reason HRH Prince of Wales pulled out of this event, I hope all is well with him and his family!!

@YetMoreNewBeginnings she was spot on with the queen's death before it was announced. She also knew about the queen's cancer before it became common knowledge and even said it's not the type of cancer that would kill you.

Sure she is a gossip but she's good at it. I don't believe she makes up stuff. Just repeats what she feels is from a reliable source. Shame her voice is so irritating though.

Everyone knew the second the palace announced the concerns that the Queen was dying. There’s also been no official confirmation of the cancer that multiple people guessed so we’ve no idea if she was correct or not.

Shes a gossip who trades on the fact she got info from a friend of Diana’s for her first book and uses that as proof that she’s still reliable.

Charles and Camilla learnt that being opaque vague bites you on the bottom. So now they issue brief news as the queen, prince Phillip and the queen mother did. If they needed surgery they stated so. If they had a bad cold they said so.

Princess Anne had a bad cold last winter, no-one blinked when she had to miss some events.

Charles is having treatment we're aware of this, we've had friends and family go through it. No mystery.

I think she's full of any old shite that will gain her any publicity.

One time when she was talking about the others, she kept sniffing in a very exaggerated way as if she had something up her nose. When I realised what she was doing I did laugh.

The PR advice they get seems to be terrible. The comment on Kate presumably was to try and quash the X rumours that they are divorcing or she has had a breakdown. The press are being weirdly respectful but I assume the story will break soon

@Bringtheweatherwithyou she may be right about W and K separating. Someone guessed above that the PR is just to cover for another shit show and a divorce is announced to be soon. Lots of people agreed with the comment that their PR are firefighting for something much bigger.

Kate may have thought she can do this royal life. I wonder if her mind changed ever since having kids. I wouldn't want to put my child through such a life. Kate is probably ok but W isn't what he seems to be. He has a temper and I could imagine that he isn't a very nice man.

When Kate initially went in for surgery, the Palace said then she wouldn't be seen/public duty until after the Easter break. So it's hardly surprising that we aren't seeing her

I do think whoever running the palace PR is doing a terrible job. They seem to be behaving as though social media and 24 hour rolling news do not exist. Every announcement fuels rabid speculation instead of quashing it.

I don't know what she said. As I said I find her hard to listen to, but in certain circles it wouldn't be a secret if a marriage is in trouble. BP doesn't have a monopoly on spreading or witholding information. It's like in any good company... information will leak. No smoke without fire and so on.

Agree, I remember watching her video on YouTube a couple of hours before the queens death.
Practically all of mumsnet called it bullshit at the time but she was absolutely correct.

I just think this has all backfired on them. Say she did have a hysterectomy and that is all but didn’t want to discuss it and thought she could lie low. The opposite has now happened- people are saying she has everything from an eating disorder to bowel resurrection to a stoma. And the scrutiny she’ll be under when she does reappear.

They should just have said ‘hysterectomy, should be out and about again in a month or so’ and there would have been none of this. She’s not the first royal to have major surgery but we have never had such secrecy around it.

I wonder if the press team are struggling to work with them. I bet they found out at the last minute too and all they had was what William told them to say. Because they must have known this was going to cause huge speculation and if they’d had time they would have advised another angle.

It was a memorial to his godfather at which he was supposed to give a reading, and there were people attending from all over the world. Not "just a church service". He skipped his funeral too. Looking a bit rude to say the least.

That's the next speculation, will she or won't she be back in action. Will she be OK. Does she look good. Is there any sign of the surgery. You can imagine what the speculation will be. I actually feel sorry for her as without a doubt the scrutiny of her will be awful.

I think Kate has had enough and I also believe it was a serious bowel-related physical illness (not a tummy tuck, hysterectomy, mental breakdown or anorexia). If it was autoimmune in nature, she may be on medication that changes her appearance which explains why she's hasn't been seen in public at all. If she doesn't look exactly the same as before in her first appearance after Easter, then all hell will break loose. Maybe the original strategy was to give her this time to recuperate and then possibly announce the condition along with her first appearance.

There could have been complications, MH issues, delayed recovery or just the general realisation that whatever she gets out of the marriage and being Queen is simply not worth it. She knows the world's press is waiting with bated breath to see her reappear after Easter looking as majestic as ever and the pressure is unbearable. Or maybe it's the realisation that she truly enjoyed spending these few weeks, the longest ever since she got together with William, out of the public eye with her children. If she leaves the RF, then she can have that life all the time. She'll be like Fergie...sometimes in the press but obviously not their main target anymore.

Maybe she didn’t want her children worried by people discussing it at school. Say she had got a stoma , wouldn’t you want your children to get used to that with you at home rather than having people in the playground telling them alsorts . If it is a gynae issue isn’t she entitled to the same privacy that we would have.
