In the countries of the UK, morganatic marriage has never really been a thing as it has been in Europe, where marriage to people of equal rank was much more important to royals. There have been several queens consort who were not royal so not of equal rank, yet still queen.
Camilla became queen the moment the late queen died, but a different kind (consort rather than regnant). Even if she had been called something else (as in Princess Consort) she would still be Queen, just as she was Princess of Wales, but used a lesser title Duchess of Cornwall.
