@HollyKnight it would be bad form to be having a scratch when on duty!!

Absolutely 😅. Bonkers theory! Hardly 'soft power 101' to bugger off and let everyone else get blown up!

Would be a very interesting strategy in foreign relations that 😂

It is bonkers! Although strangely not the most improbable thing posted on here.

Right. "Prancing". Ok.
It looked to me like he was walking, but I will check film footage. I've never seen anyone prancing at a memorial service before.

I'm sure you've heard of a figure of speech. That is what that is

Me grinning like a Cheshire cat does not mean I'm a cat lol

Isitautumnyet23 · 27/02/2024 17:15

Sorry haven’t read all the updates but perhaps last minute illness? You wouldn’t go to an event with that maybe people feeling horrendously ill. Maybe they didn’t want to announce it with there already being so much interest in the families health conditions.

How true this is I don't know, so please don't shoot the messenger: It's being said on the internet William bailed because Andrew was also attending at the behest of KC; William felt it was a set-up and his stubborn streak took over. William's views about his Uncle Andrew have been a source of speculation for some time.

It's also being said "on the internet" (i.e. here) that his Asda delivery was late, he was in imminent danger of shitting himself, his mistress has gone into labour and the gerbil escaped under the floorboards, so given anyone can make anything up "on the internet" I think we're going to need a more reputable source than that 😄

This thread is crazy!

What a huge fuss and speculation.

He's most likely got D&V (one or the other) that's not cleared up as expected.

Or one of the children's done something at school that needs a parent around.

Please stop the silly speculation.

You don’t need to read it @DeliciouslyDecadent, or take the time to post 🤷🏻‍♀️

CarolinaInTheMorning · 27/02/2024 17:16

It's being said on the internet

Lots of pure bollocks is said on the internet and on MN every minute.

Wishitsnows · 27/02/2024 12:17

Well he was heading somewhere as he drove past me just after 10am heading out of Windsor.

Well he wasn't ill then

CurlewKate · 27/02/2024 17:17

Why?

Seems plausible; if true, shows a weakness in the King’s authority
William, a father of 3, probably does not want to interact with a man who paid millions to silence an alleged abused woman that he says he never met!
if true, why did KC want the gurning, smug twosome there? Not reading the room very well

No?! Really?! Wow. I actually thought you meant Fergie was a cat. Maybe you are too.
You did actually confirm "prancing", though , and the way this thread is, it didn't surprise me. So weird and conspiracy heavy.

iwiporangi · 27/02/2024 17:18

@HelenaCh9 Simplistic and reductive? Hahahaha

William was happy enough to drive Andrew sat in the front of a car with him not that long ago

If he felt that way why did he drive him to church??

Complete agree with this. Andrew being given space to prance around like this does suggest that there is something going on.

God, the drama from one family.

They're no different from most families, black sheep and all that

Meagainnewname · 27/02/2024 17:19

Kenthighst · 27/02/2024 12:40

Did he look stressed?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

LipstickLil · 27/02/2024 17:20

William has attended plenty of things with Andrew over the past few years so I don't believe he'd pull out of such a public event at the last minute simply because Andrew was going to be there - that doesn't make any sense.

No idea what you mean. Sorry.

I will continue to use figures of speech if I so wish, along with other posters 👍

MrsWombat · 27/02/2024 17:20

One of the children was unwell or injured enough to require a doctor/hospital trip. Kate is unable to move from her sick bed. William is close enough to home/school to take them. Optics would not be good if they are sitting in A&E with the nanny/school nurse whilst daddy is on what could be seen as a jolly.

Buffs · 27/02/2024 17:21

Disgusted to see Andrew there. For the sake of the monarchy he needs to keep a low profile.

LipstickLil · 27/02/2024 17:22

Yes, I think you're probably right @MrsWombat. I can't imagine William bailing out of such a public event for nothing.
