Thinking about it if Kate was seriously ill would Pippa be holidaying so publicly in St. Barts? If it was serious I would imagine she would be close to home at the moment?

Perhaps the Middleton family think Kate would be happier out of the marriage so are fully supportive, and relieved?

Kate would be set for life financially, and no more tedious engagements - she could concentrate on the children and enjoy life a bit.

Not sure why Louis always has the finger pointed at him. Apparently George likes to remind his peers in the playground he will be king one day. Perhaps one of them thumped him rather than Louis thumping someone else.

People do like to write a lot of nonsense about children.

I wonder if Kate has said she wants out. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

It wouldn't surprise me generally, I wouldn't want to be married to a royal! (Well maybe a minor one - someone rich but not well known..)
But I don't see why she'd agree to some story about her having serious surgery with significant recovery time. George and Charlotte (and their friends) are old enough to be aware of press reports so that would be very confusing for them.
I also don't know why they'd bother with such a story. What would be the point.

ToffeeTalk · 27/02/2024 14:54

Yes. I suppose the kid who said that from George's old school might be fibbing. Entirely possible.

Wasntmeanttobelikethis · 27/02/2024 14:54

It feels like the Royal Family is a bit of a mess
Can you imagine the late Queen missing this event; even when her husband was seriously ill, she was out and about
i get the impression ( no, I’ve never met him) that William likes the luxuries, but not the graft
Remember he had loads of time off after he married; had the pilot job and it was later reported that he did very little
That image of Andrew and his ex walking with their smug faces is very depressing as a snapshot of the RF, post- Elizabeth

That was in reply to GrouchyKiwi.

The Palace just spark speculation like this with their secretive statements though.

If they'd just said something fairly cover all about each of these things, people would just say oh well, and move on with their lives. I don't know, (and I really don't know!) something like Kate is out for 3 months for a hysterectomy due to endometriosis. William can't come this morning because he has a minor illness/George has broken his arm playing rugby/whatever. People would just think 'ah well, these things happen' and move on!

There hasn't been half as much speculation over Charles.

Or they might have thought that no-one needs to know, however much they might want to know.

Mydahliasareshit · 27/02/2024 14:56

Aren't there shooting parties at Sandringham after Crimbo? Maybe the PoW was in the way of a dreadful backfire or something?

Cos the Media Hype is that Louis has been cast in the role of The Naughty/Stupid One who is modelled on Ron Weasley but with a dash more edge, Charlotte is The Super Star Feminist who is modelled on Hermonine Grainger. Meanwhile George is the Sensible One who does his moral duty and self sacrife like Harry.

Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

@Kenthighst

Sounds like they are getting ready for a big story to break. A new expose maybe?

I think there's definitely a story about to break.
Especially as the Mirror have started a live blog covering Williams pulling out. If it were no big deal why start a live blog?

Cos it gets advertising clicks which generate revenue for the Mirror on a day when theres fuck all else capturing the public's attention.

A royal like Freddie Windsor (married to Sophie Winkleman) would suit me. She still has a thriving acting career & they are relatively low key & rich!

No idea. I just think it's possible she's being given time to reconsider - it would be a disaster in pr terms.

I know that people say they look so happy but a couple of years ago Kate looked as though she was faking a lot.

Possibly going down entirely the wrong rabbit hole but it wouldn't come as a surprise. I don't think William is a particularly pleasant person. I would have a lot of sympathy for her tbh.

I always love how everything's obviously some big drama or portent of doom or conspiracy with you lot!

Has anyone considered that maybe he just pulled out because he spent all morning with the shits and couldn't get off the toilet long enough to attend?

If you'd read any of the posts you say are full of drama, you'd see this has been suggested by many.

My feeling is it's Kate. They've done well to divert attention away from her with news on the king.

Alternatively I think Hazza is about to drop another bombshell and they are working out how to best manage it.

They'd have already thought through and planned Andrew being there. Yes one of the children could have had an incident but nanny or granny would have been called on unless quite serious. If Wills was ill I think they'd have just said 'pulled out due to a virus/minor illness'. If it was a security threat then they wouldn't have the Queen (and other royals) in there. Just my thoughts.

MaverickBoon · 27/02/2024 15:00

I've never really fallen down a MN royal speculation thread before but this has been fascinating! (And absolutely bananas)

User7825525 · 27/02/2024 12:17

Most likely one or more of the kids are sick at home and Kate isn't well enough yet to run after them.

Plus it's bin day, the washing machine has broken and the freezer needs de-frosting before the big online food order is delivered on Thursday.

Her children are basically property of the crown. I'd imagine she'd put up with more than your average woman to make sure she was kept as close to them as possible in this circus.

You'd have to get an absolute encyclopaedia Britannica's worth of excuses as to why you just can't possibly pop round to visit the MIL though!

MaggieFS · 27/02/2024 15:03

New idea: perhaps something has happened to one of Kate's parents? Of course I hope not, but running through the options... it's not RF because the rest of them carried on as normal. So it's to do with Kate, DC but or potentially her family?

Hazza is releasing the photos....

...OMG. George isn't William's and Charlotte is actually the True Heir To the Throne and Kate is about to be taken to the tower for actual treason.

She would need to engage one of the top flight KCs, and she'd be fine in relation to the children. She would have every right to expect that the law would be applied correctly.
