Harry wants to come back and ‘help’

Gottseidank · 16/02/2024 22:55

Harry “is willing to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father during his illness, sources have revealed. In an attempt to help heal the rift in the family, the King and Prince Harry are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.
The duke is now understood to have told friends that he would step into a royal role while his father is unwell.”

Would he now ...

HaverStockHere · 17/02/2024 10:13

As a nation we tend to tear people down for being wankers with the help of the media but we can be forgiving

Not so sure in H & M case though

They have uniquely fucked things up for themselves

I don't think we'll ever know the true story, most of the 'a source said' articles tend to come from media outlets that have been sued by Duke of Sussex so they have points to score.

I just wish all the haters would stop clicking on all the articles about H & M, better to just totally ignore everything about them and maybe they'll stop selling out on RF all the time, it's everyone buying the books, watching Netfix, reading the articles etc that are perpetuating the car crash that Harry has become.

That lost little boy we all took into our hearts has become a very disturbed and lost man and I can't see a happy ending especially now he's trapped in America until his kids have grown up.

This is from The Times. When did Harry sue them?

You can make your point all you want about tabloids, but when you talk about broadsheets it's a different story. Broadsheets have far higher standards for publications. The Times have been pretty solid in all their Royal reporting.

Taking an overview also lends it more credibility.

Harry rushing over to see KC and briefing the Press fully about it beforehand.
The Sussex "rebrand" and recently focus on "Royal" type work and glossy SM photos released.
The focus on titles.

It's clearly been "leaked" from the Sussex camp. It's rehashing their preferred "half in" model from the Sandringham Summit.

Whether it's wishful thinking on their part, or a more concrete idea - who knows.

But it's interesting that the defence is always "H&M will never do that" - insert: Oprah interview, Netflix reality show, tell all book, interviews, collaborate with Scobie again, talk about his father's health. Now it's wanting back into the RF.

They will never do that.

Until they do.

its all a smoke screen so that no one says wheres william.

William's going to be at the BAFTAs tomorrow. He's at home with his family just now.

There's been several press articles about it.

Radyward · 17/02/2024 10:23

Where is william ? Why isint he stepping up more / full time?
3 kids - sorry Nannys- help for Kate obvs too. home at6pm like every other working Dad to help in the pms or off during day if an pm event. Why is he so work shy? Im not buying he is singlehandedly looking after K and the kids. He really is so spoiled and entitled. This is a pure smoke screen to take the attention off Wills

It’s been less than a fortnight and Harry is already planning and interview in the US discussing his father’s cancer diagnosis.

If this is true, then he needs better advisors. People are really distrusting of those who air all their family problems as it shows nothing is out of bounds.

Gottseidank · 16/02/2024 23:20

What’s ‘largely fabricated’?

William’s utter contempt for Harry and Meghan is evident

And completely justified.

CathyorClaire · 17/02/2024 10:46

As I said on the other thread I am 😮and 😆at the suggestion Sir Harold might swoop in for a bit of emergency ribbon cutting.

But then again those ribbons don't cut themselves and there must be a bit of a back log building up. Thank goodness there's an answer 🤑

MummyJ12 · 17/02/2024 10:49

I think this is a no win situation for anyone and everyone.
Harry would be criticised if he didn’t offer to support his dad when his dad is obviously so ill. If he has offered like is being reported then people are going to be cynical.
There’s also the no win for the RF and how KC and PW to a certain extent decide to proceed if this is true. They aren’t going to please everyone with however this pans out. If Harry fulfills some public duties then there will be some who will see this as the RF being magnanimous and will be pleased to see it but then there will be others who will be up in arms about it.
KC is just going to have to do what’s right for him and not listen to the men in suits. Even if he battles and wins this fight with cancer, life is all too short. It would be really good to see relations improve for both sides whatever happens.
I do wonder how this news is getting out though……

CurlewKate · 17/02/2024 10:51

Personally I think the entire royal family are a pack of freeloaders and roll on the revolution. But I can't see what Harry did wrong here. He was asked. He answered briefly.

Thunderbird7 · 17/02/2024 10:56

For those saying it’s all just made-up, here’s an interesting difference in choice of phrasing in The Times 🧐

Remember Harry & William’s rift, the H&M tell-all interview, Meghan bullying allegations, etc was all just made-up tabloid gossip… until it wasn’t.

Harry wants to come back and ‘help’
MariaLuna · 17/02/2024 10:58

Meghan is a poor substitute for Catherine too.

I know which one I prefer. And it's not the sycophant still living in previous centuries...

His name is Henry, not Harold.

MissMelanieH · 17/02/2024 11:10

Harry can't really win on this one can he?

He rushes to see his dad=attention seeking

But if he had stayed away that would have been cold and heartless.

When he flew home, if he had ignored other travellers he would have been rude and above himself.

But he was chatty and friendly but that, apparently, was a sign that he wasn't really that bothered about his father being ill.

Likewise:

He offers to step up if the RF need somebody to do so = trying to bleed them dry/get a foot in the door.

Refuse to help them and do his own thing = cold, heartless and betraying the family.

I mean no he hasn't covered himself in glory over the last few years but equally I do think he constantly ends up (with the media at least) where he will be slagged off no matter what he does.

Maybe he should consider his actions a bit more carefully in future.

Coronateachingagain · 17/02/2024 11:12

@MrsFinkelstein has explained it better than anyone. There is a PR ops / op ed. Whether the Palace is in we don't know yet.

But if the Palace is in, it is the beginning of the end for them and it means that either they have no option or they read it wrong. We cannot have this clown and his climbing wife have even a sniff on state affairs. They need to remain arms length.

They can visit his father whenever he wants, not only when the prospect of a way back in emerges.

Funny they are trying to do the job they said they did not want to do - cutting ribbons or whatever made up pseudo royal engagement they put together these days

Gottseidank · 17/02/2024 11:13

The palace is well aware of public sentiment, and William has the backbone to take a stand.

This will never happen.

My suspicion is this is being leaked to test the waters to see if he would be welcome back

Same as the "leak" about Charles showing him the door when he mentioned money or the one about Harry demanding camilla be out of the room when he visited his father

Lockupyourbiscuits · 17/02/2024 11:15

Prydddan · 17/02/2024 09:38

@Lockupyourbiscuits
The Games were launched on 6 March 2014 by Prince Harry at London's Copper Box arena, used as a venue during the 2012 Olympics. Having seen a British team competing at the US Warrior Games held in Colorado in 2013, Harry wished to bring the concept of a similar international sporting event to the United Kingdom.[2][3][4][5] With the backing of Mayor of London Boris Johnson, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Ministry of Defence, the event was put together over ten months.[6][7] £500,000 of funding for the project came from the Endeavour Fund, an arm of the Royal Foundation Prince Harry had created specifically for veterans' recovery, with an equal amount being pledged by Chancellor George Osborne from Treasury funds generated by fines imposed on banks as a result of the Libor scandal.[6][8] The Games were also sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover.[5] Boeing was announced as a sponsor in 2018 and became a presenting partner in 2023. Speaking at the launch, Prince Harry said that the Games would "demonstrate the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and demonstrate life beyond disability".[9] He also said that their long-term objective was to ensure that injured troops are not forgotten as Britain's involvement with the War in Afghanistan comes to an end.[6][10]

He directed his charity, The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, to deliver the games in partnership with the Ministry of Defence.

This is what it says on the Royal website so I think I was half right - the royal foundation and the government-
I don’t think he should have been given free reign to run with it - it has resulted in him trashing king and Country and getting away with it because he supports Veterans - it’s a bit of a mix up to have someone who attacks the Monarchy wrapped up in this

Devastatedandblindsided · 17/02/2024 11:15

It’s a lot on William isn’t it? He’s worried about both his wife and father , meanwhile he has his half wit brother seizing every single opportunity to promote himself, whatever the cost literally and figuratively.

BeaRF75 · 17/02/2024 11:20

It won't happen. Amongst other reasons, the King can't risk alienating the Prince of Wales if he were to agree to this.
At best, and if he's well enough, Charles might be happy to welcome Harry and family to Balmoral in the summer - ie a completely private, family gathering (and only if Harry agrees not to be vile to Camilla). But that's it.

mrsmingleton · 17/02/2024 11:28

He will be like his friend Buble who described Harry as a "visionary" - doing ads for Asda soon .
