Harry “is willing to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father during his illness, sources have revealed. In an attempt to help heal the rift in the family, the King and Prince Harry are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.
The duke is now understood to have told friends that he would step into a royal role while his father is unwell.”

Harry in his arrogance thought he could spin it in his book, to justify the toxic work culture, but just ended up confirming it was true.

wildernesssw · 21/02/2024 10:04

Wasn't that the reason Harry gave for Dogbowlgate?

That William came to tell Harry (and Meghan via Harry) to stop bullying their staff?

Yes . According to Harry , William called Meghan difficult, rude and abrasive during the argument. The argument was following William being told of the allegations and speaking to staff himself.

wildernesssw · 21/02/2024 10:11

Then my money would be on the bullying allegations being upheld, and the report kept secret to protect H&M as well as the staff members.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 21/02/2024 10:14

It's all there is Courtiers, and Valentine Low has not been sued for libel.

LipstickLil · 21/02/2024 10:17

There is no way that H&M would've kept quiet if she'd been exonerated by that report - they'd have been shouting from the rooftops that it was all a plot to make them look bad! The fact that it was swiftly buried and 'dealt with privately' or whatever QEII said at the time, shows that the allegations were true.

And I can well believe it - it was reported at the time that both Kate and the Queen had had to have words with Meghan about the way she spoke to members of staff working in the royal households. So if she spoke to their staff in a peremptory fashion, just imagine how she spoke to her own staff.

In response to a pp, I’m not saying the Times UK should be disbelieved outright, all the time. What I am saying is that when it comes to Harry and Meghan anything that Murdochs’ media has to say about them should be questioned enough (taken with a bag of salt) not to take it as a given that Harry has offered to ‘come back and help’. Which is what a number of posters on this thread have done, ie accepted it as true.

Also, there’s the fact, that Harry said only days ago in an interview with GMA that he is very happy living in California with his family. His life is there. Even more of a reason, to my mind, to side eye the Times UK article.

And, regarding broader news, Times UK is part of the Murdoch media news group. Murdoch’s Fox News presenters lied that the voting machines were rigged in the 2020 US Presidential election (resulting in approx $1 billion dollar payout to one voting machine company, and another case with a second company still to come), and there is also the fact that Murdochs’ News of the World had to close a little over a decade ago because of its news gathering practices.

Not to forget that much more recently, In regard to Meghan, Murdochs’ Sun published the repulsive and vile article by Jeremy Clarkson about Meghan at the end of 2022. The track record isn’t good.

Imagine William and Kate knowing how she was behind the scenes, and then also seeing her public face and platform hogging - no wonder they kept their distance

TitusGroaned · 21/02/2024 11:14

Harry unlike the rest of the royals happily claps back, so if they’ve lied outright we all now expect him to sue or answer back. He hasn’t threatened to do either. The article states source and after all the suing, I’d assume they’re being extra careful to make sure they can back it up. And even if they are lying, they’ll have to write an apology, it will be exposed - until that happens - there is a chance it may be true. I’m not saying I believe everything any of them say, it’s all looked at in terms of probability and views are amended as new information comes to light. There have various odd leaks all over the place since his meeting, there’s a running theme in all of them. Begs the question, who has been whispering? Don’t think it was Charles - he probably has his mind on other things.

Interesting and this is from the same outlet that published that gushing or piss taking one about Meghan 3 (?) years ago.

TitusGroaned · 21/02/2024 11:15

I’ve tried going to airplane mode to access it, do I need to do something else as it didn’t work for the article?

mrsmingleton · 21/02/2024 11:17

Oh she wasn't "rude" she was huggy! I expect she behaved exactly as she does always - watched her language, insinuated but never said anything that could be pinned down.

TitusGroaned · 21/02/2024 11:20

It’s the worst when people do that, have the courage of your convictions and be outright rude - at least it’s honest 😉😂

IndieNo · 21/02/2024 11:28

I’d be getting rid of the unicorns too. Apparently having one outside your doorstep is the new pampas grass.

The palace hasn’t issued a new announcement, it’s just the media use the terms interchangeably.

i also think she will be back after Easter, she needs to be not sore, able to dress as she normally does (ie nothing rubbing on a scar) doing her work is very time consuming, pre briefing, hair, make up, clothes, travel, and she will be utterly scrutinised when she appears, with Saddos trying to identify what she had done. So she needs to be 100 percent back to normal.

people will be looking at her face, does she appear uncomfortable , her body, has she gained or lost weight, how she dresses, is it the same or different, does her style of clothing give anything away, how she moves, what shoes she’s wearing. It would be unbearable for most.

personally my opinion is she needs to stay out of the public gaze till she’s back to normal, as the attention is going to be enormous.

Agree, I so feel for her. Who would want that job for all the privilege in the world 😢

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 21/02/2024 11:53

Catherine won't be able to win when she re-appears, let's just be real about that. If she looks too well, she'll be accused of having cosmetic surgery and/or having an extended 4 month pamper party/ lie in, courtesy of the public purse. If she looks tired/ill/stressed/thin, she's being abused by her husband/has mental health issues/has an eating disorder/ is hiding an illness and the public demands to know what. The nasty bastards will have their knives out regardless, and I bet they can't wait to get stuck in.

@TitusGroaned if its The Cut article you mean, here is the archived version

Rather than the crown’s lion and unicorn, however, the Sussex coat of arms depicts a lion (symbolizing Harry) and a large white songbird being choked by a crown (Meghan??) on either side of a shield.

😂😂😂

Edited

Described by the palace as a "songbird with wings elevated as if flying and an open beak, which with the quill represents the power of communication”

Singing for the quill holders seems to be a very apt description.

That would make sense, and of course it would also offer a convenient sword to hang over their heads in case they go too far off piste

And as I said yesterday, so would whatever really happened over the ""racist" comments, if Harry was asked and proved unable to back it up

CoffeeCantata · 21/02/2024 13:02

There's the well-known incident at the walkabout with W and C, where an aide approached Meghan - as they have to do - to take the flowers from her. They always do this for security reasons, as well as to relieve the royal personage of too many bouquets because theoretically there could be anything in as bouquet!

Meghan turns on this guy in a really agressive way and basically snaps at the poor man who's just doing his job. When she remembers the cameras...she quickly flashes a smile at him, but the passive-aggression and impatience is clear. I'm sorry - I've met people just like her, and I have no problem believing she can be a piece of work when things aren't going her way.

One thing that is consistent throughout everything she does and says is the almost pathological need to control everything. And she clearly will not accept advice or help, because she just knows best.

Before anyone asks how I know this - I can see it actually happening on film and she has written and spoken about her need for control many, many times.

Yes, and then did something equivalent to a curtsey, it was so strange.

There is also one of her when her mother interrupts her, she snaps her head around and glares at her.

Well neither can meghan or Harry

All part and parcel of being a royal eh. Can never win

MaturingCheeseball · 21/02/2024 14:08

@spectre - then Harry and Meghan could have avoided it by staying true to their stepping back.

re. the Face of Annoyance - see the red carpet Woman of Achievement thing when M’s assistant was asked to move her on and M was annoyed, and then quickly flashed a smile. The assistant was kaput in no time.
