I just read an article in the DM about this. I really honestly couldn't believe he would do this. I just hope it isn't true. Just how could he. Privacy????.

More pictures released. There Meghan is, showing us what a feminist looks like yet again, passively standing about covered in jewellery and expensive clothes, seal-clapping her husband so he knows just how marvellous he is. I bet Emmeline Pankhurst would be so impressed.

My God these threads get more and more deranged as time goes on. How dare Meghan wear clothes, not to mention jewellery and support her husband! How incredibly submissive of her… 🙄

@Runnerinthenight I've grown up not seeing some of my family because they aren't very pleasant , I appreciate the fact that my parents have kept me away from them. They also allowed me, when I was old enough, to make my own mind up. They are hardly deprived by not living in palaces are they? They may be extremely happy that they have had to live that life

I haven't seen any evidence - can you cite a source?

I don't know whether the RF fed negative stories to the media, but I'm pretty sure that no one in the RF spoke out about the racism against Meghan except for Harry.

milveycrohn · 16/02/2024 23:04

Harry hated being in the RF; said he hated the click of the cameras, so why would he come back.
He has a new life in the US.
Meghan has apparantly said she wil not come back, and I doubt she would let the children come either.
It is possible in the future, that Harry could be reconciled to his family, but they are unlikely to ever be working members of the RF, and I doubt the public would accept them as such.

They may not be deprived but wouldn't it be weird if they didn't question their legacy?!

StormzyinaTCup · 16/02/2024 23:14

Harry said a lot of things that turned out to be not quite the case though. He certainly doesn't seem to have an issue with cameras now. Sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side when you actually have to try and work for a living when previously you were used to having everything done for you (including having your cock ups covered up.)

There isn't any way he would come back full time but, part time I wouldn't rule it out if it suited him (financially). He would have to have the hide of a rhino to see it through though.

They might, yes, or they might be glad to be out of the whole thing. Hopefully all the parents will eventually behave themselves enough to allow the cousins to be part of each others lives

Runnerinthenight · 16/02/2024 23:25

It seems to only bother him in the UK...

The Times has an article suggesting that Harry has offered to come back and help out as a royal on a part time basis, according to his "sources".

I don't find that particularly convincing as a story because I don't see how it would work. Surely it's just the same half in/half out thing they proposed which the late Queen rejected. I think if nothing else it has become clear in the last few years that being a working royal and making money is an almost impossible line to tread, exactly as it was for Edward and Sophie years ago.

I really can't see it working, can anyone else?

If he were undertaking royal duties presumably he would expect some sort of access to royal funding?

mrsmingleton · 16/02/2024 23:44

He will be back in the RF in the UK when my backside is a size 8 - ie never!

Though Catherine was accused of being a Stepford wife but in similar situations participates in the activities rather than clinging onto her husband’s hand whilst looking lovely.

Northernsouloldies · 17/02/2024 02:29

He'd like to come back to help himself more like.

StartupRepair · 17/02/2024 02:35

He doesn't seem bothered by a 3 day photoshoot in Canada.

Northernsouloldies · 17/02/2024 02:39

Or signing up with the firm that flogged his dead mums misfortune as entertainment. Its all about the dollar.

StormzyinaTCup · 16/02/2024 21:52

I think he probably has suggested that, it's the half in half out and comes with the perks of decent security etc. He's seen a window of opportunity, seized it and hopped straight onto a plane to pay papa a visit.

His talk about 'unifying' family is a load of bull and he knows it otherwise it would have happened by now following either Duke of Edinburgh or QEII passing or Thomas Markle's heart attack.

He is very transparent.

The most reasonable assumption is that he never offered in the first place.

It is irrational to think he offered to come back.

He seems very gone for good. And he seems happy and light hearted,

We seem miffed - like we have been dumped or something! 😂

You do relaise that all of this is speculation?

As in people said - "I wonder if/I bet/do you think that/ it may be/it might' etc.

Not one word is fact.

Therefore this "Viewing relationships as transactional is quite telling." is an irrational conclusion.

Frasers · 17/02/2024 07:27

Everyone rightly said on these threads, that Harry and Megan needed the royal connections, simply Harry and Megan didn’t realise this.

when they left they made an error in judgment, they bought the hype and believed they were important for just being them. Proper a listers. They didn’t understand it was about their royalty that was the selling factor, and without it, they were just another tv actress and ex military , with limited other skills. And the novelty would wear off.

so they bit the hand that fed them, believing in their own self importance, when they didn’t get what they wanted, the half in half out.

the statements they made were awful, from the fleeing for their lives, to the implied racism , to the arguments nd the control and the public demands for an apology . Even trying to take their own photographers or camera crew to royal events so they could sell it. The fiasco when the queen died.

and now , when they have failed at commercialising, and realised they do need the royals, it’s all offers to help, I love my family, rebranding as royal as possible, call us sir and maam.

but you can’t just say sorry about that dad, can I resume royal duties. To think you can is simply gobsmacking.

harry and Megan always needed the royals more than they needed them. And as much as they are thinking with Charles and Kate out of action, that might have reversed, it hasn’t. And it can’t. The derision the royal family would face, the damage, if Harry and Megan started fronting up and doing royal duties would be immense.

the public have short memories, but not that short.

My understanding is that he hates the paparazzi side of it - being followed, hacked, spied on, all of that.

He never claimed to hate all of it - the working side he always seemed to do with good grace.

He is very chilled in these Invictus shots.

Paparazzi shots of him in California are very rare - we only see them when they want to be seen, and that would imply that something is working well! There are no leaks either - they have it worked out over there.

You know that this did nt happen right?

There has been no offer from the Sussex two to return/help/nothing.

It is made up, like a "what if..."
