New Sussex website

So I see there is a brand-new Duke and Duchess of Sussex website. Very glossy.

But the self-aggrandising! I just read Meghan’s bio and - cringe - it was the worst of LinkedIn. Sometimes less is more!

If King Charles were to remove the Sussex Dukedom would it mean that they would revert to their other titles? Like Edward and Sophie were the Earl and Countess of Wessex prior to becoming Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh?

Would it not make Harry and Meghan Earl and Countess of Dumbarton?

Yes.

Or if those were removed too, they’d be Prince Henry (Harry) and Princess Henry (like Prince Michael and Princess Michael of Kent - but no need for a territorial designation as he’s the King’s son).

Sunak and Charles meet weekly? I thought that was common knowledge? The monarch and the pm always have done. It is his majesty’s government, and any removal of titles will need parliamentary support.

Andrew is still a prince what makes you think Harry and Megan will be striped of their titles?

They meet to discuss important matters not Harry and Megan or his grandchildren who have titles prince and princess.

I’m not going to read the thread back to you. If you’re not understanding, that’s ok. No one said they’d remove prince. It was rhs Sussex title as they are not able to be monetised. Any removal includes parliament.

The King of Norway just asked his daughter Princess Martha to stop using her title as she has hooked up with a dodgy Californian shaman. They were doing speaking tours called The Princess and the Shaman. He sells fake cancer cures.

Call me dense, but I can't quite see how the new website's created a fresh "thing" about removing titles. The D@D of Sussex were created upon their marriage, and they've always plastered it across whatever when it suits

Not sure about there being anything new on the "monetising" either?
Again they've always done this since leaving, and the fresh website's surely no more commercial than Archwell's been?

They left the UK like you wanted them to and now they have built a life for themselves. They haven't commited a crime like pedophilia all they are doing is promoting themselves.

now they have moved archewell to a foot note, and are now moving to the Sussex.com as their main platform. That’s their rebrand, they will now go under the Sussex banner, utilising their titles for their endeavours, inc financial gain.

That’s your bar? They aren’t paedos so it’s ok to monetise royal titles for personal gain?

How did Harry get his wealth?
By what means have they accrued wealth as a couple?

Presumably they are networking and negotiating deals for work. Meghan was an actress so, again, presumably she still has access to shares or whatever. . .

It doesn't affect the people.in this country but they still go on about it. They would rather pretend that they don't exist and Harry was never a traitor he just lost his mind.

There’s not really a lot left for Meghan though is there re work. Apparently Suits is a no goer now, she was never an amazing actress before and I bet she’s part concentrating on being a parent and part wanting to work. It can’t be easy if you have to rely on Harry’s wealth or lack of it and they both seem to have expensive tastes despite their good life farming chickens lifestyle they tote. She can’t do what she did before eg yacht girl, show her body off to get work.

I’m wondering why she hasn’t gone down a Vogue Williams advert route or My-klean Arse book etc on babies.

I actually don’t mind the website on first viewing but it does smack a bit of narcissism esp on M’s side and as I stated earlier why put a capital T in the The Duchess of Sussex unless you’re really bigging yourself up. Yeah you’re a duchess we get it… but the reinventing the website isn’t offensive in itself and is what most brands do. I suppose it just seems like more monetising of them and their brand which irks some people as they consider them as they were named by I forget who last year, grifters. Ah well…

Didn't they have to shut down their original website which they set up when they announced their departure? Because it wasn't compatible with the deal they subsequently thrashed out with the RF, as it made a brand out of the Sussex title.

I think that one was sussexroyal.com. It looks like they've basically set up officially with the Sussex title again even though they agreed they wouldn't. I doubt there's anything the RF can or would do legally, but it's a bit of an arsey thing to do. If you hate being royal as much as they claim to, why would you keep capitalising on it?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/02/2024 22:13

I know, Getthethrowonthesofa, but my point was that they were merching using Archewell and will now probably do the same via sussex.com - so what's really changed to spark off the "remove their titles" thing again?

Unless folk mean that Archewell as a word meant little and Sussex (being their title name) is the issue, but then if it was removed they could monetise prince/princess as well

Personally I don't see the point of removing titles unless they do it for all - apart from anything else the shrieks from SoCal would be deafening - it's just that I can't quite see what's really changed
