New Sussex website

So I see there is a brand-new Duke and Duchess of Sussex website. Very glossy.

But the self-aggrandising! I just read Meghan’s bio and - cringe - it was the worst of LinkedIn. Sometimes less is more!

Sometimes even Piers Morgan is right even though he does make such a tit of himself by going on and on and on and on about them!

I'm not arguing. They're both very talented writers of historical fiction. But purely because of the lack of any documented evidence of peoples' lives (especially women, even royal women) so much of their novels are padded out with entertaining guff. Not fact.

I lost any empathy for these two with the Oprah interview when Prince Philip was dying. All they appear to be actually capable of is throwing poison barbs at the Royal Family. All of this stress with King Charles going through cancer treatment and Kate just out of a long hospital stay? Shame on both of them. Hateful behaviour.

Another day another thread attacking the Sussexes. You don't have to like them - but they haven't been 'working' Royals now for 4 years and don't live off the public purse. Their children have titles so their site is just being factual about these. There is no way that they or their parents can be stripped of them - blame the absurdity of the monarchy for that.

If I were a supporter of monarchy I would be a lot more worried about the 'left behind' ones who actually are costing us, and be asking questions about value for money - eg:

Andrew being protected by the RF despite credible accusations of sex crimes;
Kate disappearing indefinitely from public view despite concerns about her wellbeing;
William drastically and indefinitely reducing public appearances despite his father's illness (most of us in such circumstances have to just get on with it, without the huge resources he has);
William appearing drunk at an investiture recently.

Still, H&M-hate is a useful distraction from all of that.

There are so many people who spout this kind of thing - even more forcefully than they do. And we live in a world where people are constantly promoting themselves using superlatives. Even non-celebs. Theirs isn't that bad. Nah. There's more to this than jokes.

I’d have more sympathy if they knew what they actually wanted, they’re back to promoting their royal pedigree, the same royalty that many of their strongest supporters despise. The monarch for probably most of Harry remaining life run by two men who he doesn’t like, hates their wives and is not afraid to say so, in fact on this website reiterates the honesty he used to describe these two men and women. Harry in particular actions do not make sense if you want to promote yourself as a Prince then surely you’d want the monarchy you want to be attached to be stronger not made weaker by yours and supporters actions.

I read that Meghan has signed with Lemonada Media to deliver podcasts . I have never heard of them .

It appears they cannot even get the new website done properly..The Lord Chamberlain is not too chuffed as apparently you cannot use your title s if you are promoting a business or philanthropic intent due to the patents act. Wonder of they got the permissions they needed? Doubt it!! Whoops cocked up again!

The children absolutely can be stripped of their titles. Prince Charles can issue new letters patent revising the ones from the early 20th century to clarify that only children of the sovereign and children of the heir to the throne are styled as a Prince or Princess. And at the stroke of a pen, they’d be de-Princed/Princessed.

Least you think that’s unlikely, when the rules around this were tidied up and re-written last, Prince Louis of Battenburg lost his title. And Queen Margarete of Denmark downgraded 4 of her grandchildren from Princes to Counts in the last couple of years. They were her second sons’ children and were busy making a living as models as influencers using their titles - it’s assumed she didn’t approve.

So it can be done. Doesn’t mean it will, of course.

I have more time for Harry and Meghan than the rest of the royals. At least they are earning their money. The rest of the royals could do the same instead of dipping into the pockets of the British people.

I'm not really clear why they need a website. Like the BBC article says, their whole Archewell thing is very unclear - is it charity or media? And what do they actually do? The lack of statement or any action over Africa Parks makes them seem very hypocritical, especially since they've left it listed as one of their achievements.
